I enjoyed that, especially the twist at the end there.

There's a HUD video/recording of the event and its really similar to what you've experienced during the mission.
In the end, this is sadly realistic. These things do and did happen.

I see that some people have quite a success in warbirds on Contention server. I have never flown a warbird. Any warbird modules you would recommend for Contention server or maybe I will just stick to my Hind, Gazelle, M2000C, Mirage F1, F-16, MIG 29/ 21/19/15? Thanks !

@@NoRegret08 Judas would murder me if I didn't suggest the 190-A. For blue I'd suggest the P-47. Basically speed and manoeuvrability doesn't matter--you'll be slower and more turny than any jet. So payload and burst mass is all that counts. They are surprisingly effective. I think the trainers are more meta, but I do like running around in a prop

Thanks a lot for the reply ! Why is 190-A better than 190 Dora for Contention? I. Know how to fly all the trainers. I think the advantage of the warbird will be not showing up on EWR. Guns on L39 really suck and quite honestly , guns on all trainers lack ammo count. MB339's canopy gets foggy, it's annoying, even with all anti fog turned on. C101 is my favorite with the Magic 2s, but it's boring once you shot them. I always wondered how do F18s find me so easily in the Hind and F16s find me in Gazelle. I suppose it mostly visual.and radar ?

@@NoRegret08 honestly there's not much between the Anton and the Dora for contention. Anton has more burst mass in it's guns and is more survivable (radial engine can take a lot. Shrugging off a sparrow or even a couple of mistrals is common). It does have a longer startup as the engine needs to warm up. The Dora does have a gyro gunsight but that's not going to be useful against much on contention.
For detection, year radar really helps. Modern radar is actually really good at picking up helis. Also if the enemy has a JTAC on, they can see you if you're radar detected, even if you don't show on EWR. Human Jtacs are very good at helping hunt down helis

@@Dr_Jebus thank you ! I suppose you picked P47D over P51 for fire output. I will buy both modules while the sale is going on. How do human Jtacs detect me , is it ground and airborne radar? I suppose I need to fly low in order to be not detected ?

@@NoRegret08 yeah, more firepower, better survivability. Potentially more ordinance.
If ground based or airborne radar picks you up the JTAC can see you. Terrain masking is the best bet (so not just low, but behind a hill, in a ridge etc where possible). If you have rwr, if you see a ping from a hostile, you're probably viewable by JTAC. But of course most helis don't have rwr so it's a bit moot
