      I’d like to see this as well seeing as how the Tour B RX made it to the top total distance on the 115 driver swing speed by golf spy! That ball is supposed to be for slower swing players. Since it didn’t make the top ball speed, I would assume it launched high and had less spin…may be something a lot of people are looking for that swing faster than the recommended for that ball!

    This is a really great comparison! When I was fit for irons, the fitter recommended a higher spin ball, and I ended up picking the B XS because it supposedly spins more with mid irons. I would love to see 7 iron spin comparison between B X and B XS to see if you see more spin gain. Otherwise, the similar wedge spin rate results makes me think I should be using the B X just for driver gains. My head speed is also only just at 105, so I would also like to know how the high/low speed balls do with the 'incorrect' head speed. What should someone who swings anywhere between 104 and 107 use?

    Great comparison video of the various Tour B balls. I have been playing the RX line ever since they were introduced about 11 or 12 years ago. Thanks for the vid. I can understand the difference in feel but swing speed vs distance has been debatable with these balls ; I swing 85mps and get 200 yds carry on RXS but 210yds on XS + also 5 yds extra roll. Also the BX spin on wedges is super high - stops on a dime (similar to V1X). The RXS does roll more on wedges and have to provide for this. Would have loved your driver test on fast and slow club speeds across all the balls and whether you noticed a major difference.
    Bridgestone also say the RXS and XS spin more but your test proves otherwise.

  • @James_Vaughn
    @James_Vaughn 3 года назад +1

    Good test. I watched it earlier and then went at lunch and tested them myself at local place that has trackman bays. It seems like I get more distance off the driver from firmer balls on the course, even though I'm only swinging around 101 anymore. Well, the results bore out what I thought I was seeing on the course, I get more ball speed and distance with the Tour BX than with the B RX. I don't know why. Maybe I just hit those shots better, but the ball speeds I got off the RX were 145-147 compared to 148-150 with the BX. I do lose a couple of yards off my 7 iron though, but I'd rather have the extra yds with the driver. I find the same thing with other ball ranges when it comes to firm and soft.

    • @2ndswing
      @2ndswing  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching James! Good that you're able to do some testing and see the numbers. The general reason why the RX is better for sub-105 mph speeds is because those golfers can't compress the B X or B XS efficiently enough. However, with you being so close to 105 you may be delivering the club in a way that does compress the ball efficiently enough to see more pop from a firmer ball.

  • @bradleygregg3685

    This is exactly what I had been looking for. I get about 160-170 out of my ball speed (the monitor I use doesn't measure swing speed, but the assumption is I'm over 105), and carry from 275-290. high launch, high spin (around 4000 rpm a lot of times). So I've been looking for a lower spinning ball. I've been using the BX and I like it. Wondering how it would compare to an AVX or TP5x -- basically comparing the low spin versions across a few brands of golf balls. Thanks so much for the video!

    I mostly play ProV1 or ProV1x, but from time to time I like to switch it up. I’ve always liked Bridgestone’s urethane balls. They feel more plasticy off the face on full shots but they have great launch, nice, high and strong trajectory and feel clicky but soft. Clickier sound than V1/V1X but always felt as long if not longer than Titleist. I’d say I’m a little less confident, however, with Bridgestone on partial, touchy-feely shots. But I’m always pumped to find a fresh Bridgestone B330/RS300 or B-XS/B-RX 😂

      he explains why at 5:45 sorta. He's throttling back under 105 mph for the R series balls. Then jacks it up over 105 mph for the X series balls.
      That's how they are designed.
      ...seems to me he was coming out of his shoes for the 113 mph swings and 103 was to slow for him :)
      like he's stuck in-between the designs for these balls :) but definitely over 105 mph.
      ... well, according to the ball's design, he should choose the X series for " over 105 mph " - either way.

      Great suggestion. We will complete more moderate speed ball testing here soon. - Thomas

    Very odd that the rx spun more than rxs. Box says different.

    Why don't you try all balls under 105 and all over 105

    What kind of spin difference do you see with a 7 iron

      Don’t disagree. This is about the most confusing way to come out with a product line. Cut the letters and start calling them what they are.

    So "S" is for Soft not Spin

    You should have reviewed all balls at same swing speed for driver…. Missed opportunity

    A ball test without any irons hit? Ummm okay

      In previous ball testing, we've noticed the differences are most noticeable with wedge and driver. Balls perform similarly with a 7-iron, whether it be a range ball or a premium ball. Thanks for watching!

      @@2ndswing I respectfully disagree, if anything, drivers level the playing field on golf balls more than any other club. Short and Mid irons have significant changes in launch angle, peak height, descent and spin depending on the ball.

      @@Thehockeystop97Josh you're correct, you fit a golf ball to your irons, not your driver and wedges...the only two things people should fit their golf ball to is their irons..and the feel of the ball off the putter face. Because they are the nost used clubs in your bag..this dude is fitting a ball around a driver..the club u use the least..and wedges...the clubs in your bag that spin the most and fly the shortest ..not a single 3,5,7 or 9 iron hit 😵😵

      He was right the ball is awesome despite the fact it shouldn’t fit me at all
