Telogen effluvium usually occurs when your system is going through a shock like a severe illness or a pregnancy or something that changes your system around and it can't adjust. So that causes the hair to go into a dying phase and then once your body starts to heal then your hair goes into a growing phase. I went through this when I was dealing with undiagnosed celiac disease and I got severely ill and for me the period of time between the dying and the growing was about 3 to 4 months.

I had to do all of my own research when I was diagnosed back in 2012 because I didn't have any other resources and these two books were the best ones that I read and they were the most comprehensive and the easiest to understand and they explain things in a way that everybody can understand not just doctors which I found most of the books to be on that level. Celiac Disease for Dummies and Gluten-free for Dummies. They're part of the whole dummy series and they approach things from the point of view that you don't know anything and it just covers everything that you would think of plus a lot more so this will help you to learn more about the disease and how to diagnose disease and labels and all kinds of other things that you need to know. They also include recipes and also food safe brands

Sorry to burst your bubble here… Tone adapting makeup is a full-on scam. It’s not remotely true that products can sense your skin tone & change the product to match it. It’s not a new scam either. I remember it from when I was a teenager. Almay maybe had one and there was a big fuss over the part of the product info that very clearly stated it was just balls of pigment in a base & the whole thing was an illusion.

For thinning falling out hair, I fixed it by following the advice of another youtuber. I have been using minoxidil 5% as per my md for over 6 months. But I did not notice improvement. Then the youtuber said to add a stamper, not a roller, to do the microneedeling of the scalp, after what uses minoxidil, and can also add some drops of retinol. After using it for 2 months, twice a week, my hair stopped falling out, and new growth started to be visible. I did that for another 2 months and now on to once a month, and no minoxidil, just stamping and hair is still growing well. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by a stamper for the microneedling tool? I’ve never seen anything by that description? I’m assuming you do the microneedlng before the shower? Or no? My hair started breaking off and shedding without regrowth about 6 months ago after foolishly using Olaplex( even though I knew about the lawsuit). I’m used to a TON of thick curly hair and now while in the shower with it wet, it’s feels like a little rat tail. 🫣

It was something I was influenced to buy so it totally fits in with this video lol. The great thing about the light it comes with is the variety of connection types it has so I can actually plug it into my phone to make the light work (which is great because it recommends 7-30mins with it on and I'm usually on my phone during that time anyways lol). They also have a wireless one too that's a bit more expensive that I have not tried. I found the starter system at Target, but they seem to always have deals on their website so it might be worth a try! 🙂

Hi Rachel! I’m not a hairdresser BUT I do know a lot about hair and have done a number on my hair over the years 😅 My top products I have used for a good 4 years now that has helped my hair Grow & be Healthy is 1. Bondi Boost HG Shampoo & Conditioner (I even got my husband using it) 2. Vegamour oil great for regrowth and doesn’t make your hair oily! 3. Mielle oil (I use it before washing my hair) 4. Briogeo conditioning mask (I use it instead of regular conditioner anymore unless my scalp is feeling dry)
Also, I only wash my hair once a week, twice at the most. I also used a scalp massager, that helps stimulate regrowth by driving the blood to the scalp. And I always brush my hair from ends to roots and usually don’t use much heat on my hair unless I blow it out then it’s good for the week! I know some products don’t work for everyone & it also takes time to see results, but I don’t even wear my extensions anymore cause I’ve gotten my hair to the length my extensions were. I hope this helps sorry it’s so long! Happy to answer any questions too! 🫶🏼

I use the st tropez face tan mist, the benefit imo is you can do all your skin care and then spritz the tanning mist over the top. It’s buildable as well and never makes me break out like a mousse would. I think sunscreens have improved and the two hour thing is overkill unless you’re swimming or sweating and rubbing it off with a towel. Theres a few misting sunscreens you can apply over your makeup like a setting spray too. The brand quick flick do one (I’m in Australia and we take our sun protection seriously haha).

Another "puke bucket" hack (mostly for car rides because I have a kiddo that gets car sick) is using a jug (like a milk jug, but we use our left over distilled water jugs) and you cut off the top part, leaving the handle and making sure there aren't any rough edges. Then you line it with a little bag and put the paper towels at the bottom and it makes it SO helpful to clean up. The handle is the best part in my opinion. And if for whatever reason you don't have a liner and they need to use it and you don't want to clean it out (or can't because you're traveling), you can chuck it in the trash. I try not to do that, but in a pinch, it works!

I’ve been using the ColorScience flex for a couple of years. I have rosacea so I have to be super careful in the sun. As the day goes on, somehow the pigment absorbs into the skin so as you reapply, it doesn’t appear to be cakey or thick. I just reapply on top and rub it in every two hours. Some days with the kids are 14+ hours of sunscreen. I can’t say anything bad about it, just know that upon first application you need to give it about 10-15 minutes before applying blush and bronzer.

Colorscience also makes a powdered sunscreen that is a great way for reapplication and protecting your scalp - as someone who burns her part all the time, it’s a game changer!

I put a puppy pad in the bottom of our trash cans, and I use those mattress protector things that you put on under the sheets when your kids potty training or whatever, I put that under the trash can so if anything doesn't make it in the bucket it doesn't hit the floor.

Love your videos! Just wanted to chime in on the sunscreen/skin tint. There is no such thing as as tone or color adapting product. They all simply have balls of foundation/pigment and they burst when you rub it on your face. They appear to be adaptive because there is so little pigment that they can sort of work for a range of skin tones depending on the shade. That being said, they are the worst products for being inclusive to different skin tones as they are never deep enough for the deeper skin tones.

Kind of shocked at how that foundation had to be reapplied to the brush. Yikes. Also, about the whitening pen, if you have the game Watch Ya Mouth, use one of those to hold your mouth open. Wash it first.

For the sunscreen on kids try using a beauty blender my at the time one year old son thought it was just hilarious and was giggles the whole time. Also I’ve heard using a foundation brush works great as well, but I never tried that summer hack myself.

I love the Airbrush Foundations. I have been using Jerome Alexander for 10 plus years. Flawless finish!! I was looking forward to the Luminess review. Every Influencer I see Demo this type of product sprays it onto their face. 🙄 Or does these numerous short spurts. And then complains about wasting product! Tip: Load the brush up, you will have enough to do your entire face with one spray. The other side of the Brush is for the Primer.

You mentioned that you have some sensitivity in your teeth. I do as well, though the Crest White Strips don't bother me that much. However, have you tried the Sensodyne whitening toothpastes? I use the Optical one and it is fantastic for getting those discolorations between teeth that the strips can't get to. I noticed a difference the FIRST time I used it. Amazing stuff and no sensitivity.

I love the colorscience color change sunscreen I have been using it for years. It is expensive but I put my normal sunscreen on underneath then use the cs one as a topper to even out my skin tone. I just recently started using the dermatology brand pigmented sunscreen, it’s nice but its coverage is nothing compared to the colorscience one.

We have a bedside potty chair on the back porch for emergencies and use a trash bag and some newspaper in it. So much simpler to just bag it.
Sunscreen: Chemical sunscreen is consumed when exposed to sunlight, and becomes useless after two years in the bottle. Zinc is a physical sunscreen and is only removed physically, and is good in the bottle until the carrier oils become stinky rancid. Both are covered by the same labeling laws. Pffft!
Most "invisible mineral sunscreens" either have chemical sunscreen in the too (dirty rotten stinkers!), or have not much zinc and direct you to use way more than anyone ever really would. If you want to actually protect your skin, use the white one and put makeup over it, that will keep you protected till you rub it off.

The Nioxin Night Density saved my hair! I destroyed my hair after using the Revlon Hot Air Brush (😡), and also entering perimenopause (thanks, hormones). I’ve been using it for 8 months, and my hair is now so thick and dense...and hoping it will grow, baby grow! I used so many other products before the Nioxin (which I got at TJ Maxx), and I will never be without it. Also, it’s so much cheaper at Wal-Mart than Amazon! Also, also, it can make my hair a touch greasy, so be sure to really massage it in!
