  • Courtesy of the manuscript: other versions of Mozart K488, quickly decided against… proof WAM was composing left to right. As always, glimpses of the piece not written give one a greater appreciation for what was/is. But I also love that after the development of the first movement, we find not a single additional cut or change (save for some details in the finale Rondo repetitions) in the manuscript. As though once he finally found that first path to V, the rest of the piece fell into place. It’s both magic and not. I love this concerto so much, very happy to be playing it this weekend (January 28 + 29) with the Colorado Symphony and Peter Oundjian 🌅🌻
