    Happy to hear she’s not ducking trilogy. When you have a legend contender like Valentina, and you’re on top, you want it to be conclusive. Figgy got it without the accolades of Valentina and this fight was just as good

    Great fight by two very skilled fighters. I feel that Val Still tries to play the points/ decision game and pulls back from trying to outright finish by " ground /pound or submission. When Grasso gets the advantage, she " presses", frantically trying for a stoppage. The intent of both fighters can also sway Judges. They certainly gave us all a show, last night.

    • @sandyrodriguez2803
      @sandyrodriguez2803 8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes!!!! The fight was great and it could have seriously gone either way. I also think that Valentina focuses too much on other things besides just fighting. Example, when Alexa started attacking her on the ground with the kicks to the head. For sure, I can understand why she was upset, but it was apparent she does NOT like being on the receiving end of damange. In other words, Valentina will not stand and fight mano-a-mano if you will. Also, when Alexa started her aggression, on various occasions, Valentina immediately tried to supress it by trying to take her down or doing something similar. Regardless, it is well known that to beat the champion, the contender should do it on their own instead of letting the judges make their ruling.

      The DCs were wrong & influence fans, they ignored everything else that happened in R4 & only focused on Grasso's questionable knees to give her the round. But she slowed down, started watching & eating shots in R4. Most of the visible damage on her happened in R4 which is why 2 judges & about 50% of fans & media gave R4 to Val.

      THANK YOU! I'll never understand that. Just bcuz you take a fighter down and technically "control" them it shouldn't be considered "total ground control." you get a fighter down but don't do much damage while the other fighter is fighting off their backs
      I think it's BS that they don't get credit for getting up, defending subs, doing damage etc.
      If you're gonna score the fight on the ground, offense AND defense need to be considered. Same as on the feet.
      Scorecards should be posted in between rounds.

      @@brianvaldez1746 you must have either been biased or high, if not both, to think that Alexa won round 4. Alexa only clearly won round 2. She even took more damages in round 5 than the last minute scramble to get a rear naked choke on Valentia. If she gets a 10 - 8 for that, then Val should get a 10-8 for having her in the same position in one of the earlier rounds. I too like Alexa and actually wanted her to win, but she lost that fight both on the feet and on the ground.

    Fight was 3-1 in Schevchenko's favor going into the 5th round in a lot of peoples eyes. Jon Anik even made a comment about the champ needing to get a finish in the final round to secure a victory before the round started. Even if it were 2-2, most thought Shevchenko had done enough during the first 4 minutes of the 5th round to secure the win. The 10-8 scorecard was another gross example of Judges appeasing the UFC and scoring it how they think the UFC want the fight scored. "The UFC doesn't control the judging or have a say in judging" is a cop out response by the UFC and it's by design - they want to be removed from having any responsibility in the outcome of decisions by deferring to the judges... These judges have been around long enough to know what outcomes the UFC want in these scenarios and do their best to ensure they meet those expectations. Sports become more and more blatant with its favouritism. It's good for the sharp gamblers who take this kind of stuff into consideration though.
