Yes, 2000 was the first year for this generation of the Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon. But, 2006 was the last year for this generation before it was completely redesigned for 2007.
The brake pads haven't needed replacing at this point despite having them checked several times. My guess is that it's because the Tahoe is designed for towing and the vehicle has done very little which has extended the normal life for these brake pads.
My neighbor has a 2000 Sierra Denali 1500. He had his first brake job at 200k! Pads and rotors. And the dude towed his 3 horse trailer. It’s common up until say they went back to the drums in the rear to get this mileage out of the brakes. I have a 99 Silverado, the newer body style, we got 110k. I think that’s why GM cheaped our in the following generation, and through these trucks runs, they lasted too long. The 2007-13 were low build quality than these.
I have same truck i have put in fuel pump, intake manifold gasket, front brakes and rotors, chorcal canister, Muffler, spark plugs and wires, purge valve, cleaned fuel injection s and recently a catalytic converter and fuel filter at 163k miles now
I don't think there are too many 16 year olds that would pick a Tahoe as their car of choice but I was right there with you when I was in high school. My first car was a 1995 Tahoe. It was great for transporting my friends, camping, and getting thru the snow!
Mike C you're right on that, but this tahoe is definitely worth my money! Very reliable, very powerful, and overall beautiful!😌Now, I might not get it at this moment. I'll probably purchase it around 17 maybe 18 aha. I've seen that they cost around 10k, so it'll take me time to get the money. Awesome review btw man
Found a LS for 3300. not look at it yet I just need to get to Utha nads back twing..seems liek a ggod deal have to check it out..do all the seats lay down ant once? It has 161,200 miles on it. It's a V-8 5.3 Vortec, hitch, 3rd row seating, 20' tires
Are u selling it or u just saying how good of a truck it is ? I just bought one with the exact amount of miles It has the 5.7 liter I hope it last for another 10 years!!
Just sharing about it. This is my parents and they plan to keep it as long as it goes. At about 170k miles they've put no more than a couple thousand into maintenance since it was brand new. It's been an incredibly reliable truck.
Alex Nava you could still by a Bluetooth adaptor for it. i bought one for my 03 tahoe ls and it was worth it. it might look a bit obnoxious but with that bose sound system its worth it.
Its actually Z71 and the Z71 package has a slightly different appearance. The grille is the color of the vehicle rather than chrome, body trim is a bit different, and it comes with a different style of roof rack and wheels. It also has a modified suspension that is better for driving off road
I have the same year, make, and model with 166k miles and still going. Excellent review and I agree 100%. Love it!
Looks better than the newer ones.
04 here with 226,000 miles and no problems whatsoever! Did replace cloudy headlamps. But nothing else.
i realize it is kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to stream new movies online?
@Lance Westin I would suggest FlixZone. Just google for it =)
@Sawyer Sonny yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for since march myself :)
@Sawyer Sonny Thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service :D I appreciate it!!
@Lance Westin glad I could help xD
I have on 03 and 226k miles with no major issues?! 🙌 Thank God!! 🙌
Good fuel mileage?

What do you mean still has the original brake pads??
This can not be good.
The brake pads haven't needed replacing at this point despite having them checked several times. My guess is that it's because the Tahoe is designed for towing and the vehicle has done very little which has extended the normal life for these brake pads.
Mike C
They come with ceramic pads, as do the trucks. They last forever if you drive them nice

I’ve only towed once, and that was towing a Dodge Challenger out of the snow.
I'm planning on buying a Chevy Tahoe, had the Impala 2005 for a while but I need space for my film equipment. Nice review.
Very nice review Mike ! Keep it up :)

I'm 16 with a permit and this is the suv I would like to own. This would definitely be a good suv to skrt around with my homies.

Thank you. And yes, they are a great car for the money! If you look hard you could find one for $5-7k
Gotcha!

Same, mine's got 275000 miles

How much do u want for Chevy Tahoe. ??
We got the same exactly car
You’re driving it wrong if you’re only getting 12mpg. My friend has an 03 with 246k and it’s getting 18-20MPG
Im only getting 12.5

Should I get this as my first car???
Hunter Wittke yes it turns out great
Yes because this car will take you allot of places and I still have my 01 Chevy Tahoe and no problems
Are you using walleye vision. Video seems wonky.
Nice , going to see a 03 tahoe for sale at $1.1k , 150k miles, just minor alternator problems
I am about to go see one for 1k, the only issue is a rusted brake line, but I have replaced those before so it shouldn't be an issue
What model did you get for 1.1k?
Buen Tahoe me voy a comprar uno.
Any experience with the traction control light being on?
Nope, haven't had any such issues.
I have an 06 Tahoe and the rims are bigger its 22 inch rims and it has a sunroof so is your truck clean?
Steering is gonna be a little loose at 166k
My 03 with 66k is still tight like new.
About how much does it cost to fill up the tank and about how many days does it last? I may be getting a used 1 in 2 weeks.
Hi, it costs about $27.38 for a quarter tank of fas
The Z71 info isn’t quite right and why did I just hear this same onstar pool story from another review?
I'm buying one with 200k miles for 4 grand. Worth it or no?
No bad
These cars are powerful
Looking at a 2004 Chevy Tahoe with 220 thousand miles for under 3 thousand dollars is this a good deal
Yes for payments and credit
They last 300k for sure if mantained
Whats it mean when it says engine reduce power
Means your not gonna zoom fast
Same vehicle 220k, original owner, NO PROBLEMS (besides speedometer not working),
Now at 245k Miles… stilll no problems bros
Are u selling it or u just saying how good of a truck it is ?
I just bought one with the exact amount of miles

And new alternator last mon at162k miles
already seen this one in Matrix Reloaded, where the twin shoots his UMP-45 onto the Tahoe *XD*
Real car guys don't get lambos or anything of that sort. They get trucks but mainly they get good trucks like a tahoe
I got a white one same year
My friends Tahoe made it to 400,000 miles!! I couldn't believe it
Mine has 325k these are built like tanks!
Does this car have an aux cord port or usb outlets?
Not in 2003. That was before either were common in cars.
Alex Nava you could still by a Bluetooth adaptor for it. i bought one for my 03 tahoe ls and it was worth it. it might look a bit obnoxious but with that bose sound system its worth it.
My 03 is 13 years old these cars last so fucking long
Same year 2003 is the cleanest
i got one exactly like that one but red
For future reference it's Z71 not Z28
He said z21.. guess ur both dumbasses haha
What do you mean when you say the mirrors tilt backward?
When the vehicle is in reverse you can program the mirrors to tilt toward the ground to see obstacles at street level.
Cool i didnt know that
Mike C how is that done
I just picked up 1 for 7000.00. with 90,000 miles
they made those Tahoes, until 2006(,:
Oh and do your maintenance on time so u don’t get into major problems later lol
Nice car :) !
Cool video
Cool car
They made this generation ‘00- ‘06
