All of these are things we’ve never seen him do before. And as kaido has said they don’t really seem like something a “rubber man” should be able to do…
As an anime only watcher, I noticed all these little details and I think I know what this is all about. But we've already seen Luffy bend the trajectory of his attacks, both in bounce-man or in snake-man mode.
Is it just me or did kaido look sad at the end. I think he knew he couldn't keep calling himself the Strongest if people always help him to win the fight
Kaido, as evil as he is, has some kind of fighters honor. He wants a true 1 on 1 win or lose. In the end the fight would've ideally ended 1 of 2 ways. Kaido wins and he can celebrate his complete victory over Luffy; or he loses and realizes that Luffy is joyboy and he can accept his loss. CP0 interfering robs Kaido AGAIN of either death or total victory. In this moment he thinks Luffy is now dead, and will likely never have such a serious/fun fight again.
Your exactly right it goes to what Kaido said earlier a winner needs no justification he won but in all his fights he has never won, there was always a justification for why he did. How can he call himself the strongest if he’s never been given the chance to prove it.
Kaido is absolutely devastated about the fact that this fight ended up just like oden with the ultimate unsatisfactory victory. All I can say is I don’t see that CP0 agent making it past this night 😂 the ost coming in perfectly too with the depressing music chef’s kiss
The story from One Piece is great. Along with Berserk, these are some of the best stories I have experienced. Even though in both cases there is no ending and they are still going on.

when luffy said "dont escape, my energy" it actually makes complete sense. throughout the series we have always seen luffy go back to normal after the smoke escapes in gear 4, so it makes sense the smoke is his energy he is using for the gear👍
The moves of Luffy & Kaido's in this episode, I loved how they turned out!!!! Like Kaido's Drunken Beggar phase was basically being a flighty beggar of Kaidou's Dragonic Drunken Fist mode. And Luffy combining Kong Gun with Conqueror's Haki was essentially if the name changed would be Overlord Monkey Gun-Fist

My theory: I think Kaidos face is like that in the end because he realizes what luffy really is, he sees that CP-0 got involved while they were fighting and it must have been for a reason. He realizes that luffy is the hidden power.
You can't ignore the whole effort they made to replay what happened to Oden. Kaido is devastated because the same exact thing happened again. He was robbed of the good conclusion to a good fight that he's fully enjoyed in a long time. It also helps since I'm keeping up with the manga but yeah, it's just that.
Does anyone know that on 26:29 the impact frame actually show Luffy gear and the first is gear 1 second is gear 2 three is gear 4 and four is gear 5 if you slow down the video
Luffy said he'd lose if this final attack didn't work, because, as we've just seen, he was already pushing the limits of his Gear 4th. As you know, when Gear 4th is used too much, he can't use haki for the next 10 minutes, which means 100% death against Kaido.
