When I was in high school the Crue went on their Dr. Feelgood tour and Tommy, the drummer, had this solo part in the show where he'd turn around and moon the audience. It was great occasion for us high-school girls to gossip and for the adults to get outraged. Tommy would go on to become infamous for a certain tape he made with his then-wife Pamela Anderson. He was never what you'd call a well-adjusted person. Hahaha.

All the 80's hair bands made fun, sex-drugs-rock 'n roll - party music. Some of the best live shows ever.

This is probably still one of my favourite Crüe tracks... For years in my teens and 20s, it was my Friday night and Saturday night warm up track before going out on the town....

    Happy belated birthday!!
College is an epic adventure of music discovery! It kind of cracks me up that your throw back discovery is 80s hair bands, and mine was Pink Floyd and The Doors. Lol.
I was raised on John Denver (we also had a cassette of Kenny Rogers and a cassette of Anne Murray, ooh and a vinyl for Alabama), my mama's alarm clock was set on the Golden Oldies station, and we would borrow vinyls of classical music from the library (Bach, Strauss, etc). 5th grade I got my own radio alarm clock that was set on Top 40. A classmate introduced me to Salt-N-Pepa, a neighbor a grade above me introduced me to GnR. When we moved, my first new friend pulled me into the NKOTB hysteria. And then my radio station selections expanded so high school was country, metal, grunge/alt-rock, Top 40, R&B, hip hop and a smidge of rap. (Sir Mixalot was my class' unofficial anthem.)
An assistant manager at my first job introduced me to Miles Davis (a decade later I discovered Tito Puente). Maintenance guy at mom's work encouraged me to check out Pink Floyd. Girl in my dorm got me into Deftones. My husband introduced me to Phunk Junkeez and Tool (also In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly). Another job introduced me to Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. An airplane companion (could have sworn he said his name was D.C. Greene, but when I tried to look up his works that wasn't correct-- anyway, he had played with Chuck Berry and some others) steered me towards Sarah Vaughan.
Eclectic music makes for some epic playlists! I now have an affinity for swing/big band and old jazz standards, and the bulk of my music is within the realms of rock. Regardless of mood I can always go for STP, RATM, SOAD, Tool. Been finding myself playing Sturgill's Sound+Fury in all kinds of scenarios as well the last year or so.
Dang, I rambled... anyway, there's so much awesome music out there! When you're ready to wander into the 90s, you might get a kick out of Primus' quirkiness.

Love this song. Classic Crue. Played at every strip bar back in the day.
I met the band at "the body shop in the Marble Arch" once when they were back in town (Vancouver) recording their Dr Feelgood album.
Cool bunch of guys. I went up to their table and shook Vince's hand and talked to him for about a minute. No attitude whatsoever, just good time party guys.
