Please install new timing chains, oil pump chain, guides and all new parts on the new engine. It’s very important to do all that while the engine is out
Damn! This was my thought on the last video. Usually when the guides go bad and the engine is still ran til the point of explosion the valves bend 100% of the time...
much appreciation for your determination. good work!
I feel your pain, that was a lot of work, just to find out that it was totally dead! Looking forward to the next vid!
Thanks 😊
That’s why as soon I got my E38 I swapped the guide tensioner. Failed guides don’t kill these cars, faulty guide tensioners do.
Yes I agree completely, most of the time is due to bad guide tensioners.
Glad your friend has a spare engine lol
Yea luckily, stay tune for new episode, I will be putting that engine.

Yea that’s what I did on the new engine, everything new besides oil pump chain
@@bmw_fanatic oil pump chains go bad too. Is your new engine still taken apart? I’d change that too while you’re there
@@VITOSGARAGE it’s in the car already, I mean if goes bad I’ll just get it replaced, I love wrenching.
@@bmw_fanatic thanks for loving these amazing cars!! You’re a legend! I do the same thing
@@VITOSGARAGE thanks for the support and keep up the good work 👍🏻

Yea that was super unfortunate but luckily I did find another engine with similar mileage so I will be putting that engine, stay tune.
@@bmw_fanatic Might as well swap all of the guides into that one as well.
@@purplecty740 yea that’s what I am going to do, transfer the guides.
I believe you only need to special socket if you wanna replace banks solenoid while timing cover is still on. It’s a thin wall deep socket
Thanks! Yea that special thin socket you need to replace the solenoids.
Should of warmed it up in the oven to slide on. Did you check the main bearings
Yea I’ve checked, but this motor is toast, so I’ve put another one.
Are you in Washington by chance?
Yea in Washington
