The Black Dahlia saved my life twenty five years after she died. I was born and raised in Hollywood, but had never heard of the case until I was her exact age when she died. The case was being covered in a local magazine and the horror of it was unimaginable. At the same time as I was reading about it, with pictures, there were very loud knocks at my apartment door at 11 p.m.! I could tell by the height of the knock it was our very large building maintenance man, who gave me the creeps. Normally, being stupid and naive, I would have answered the door. Next morning there was some mail he had delivered to my door, probably hoping I would open it. I moved the next day because this guy had a master key to my apartment! Shortly thereafter, he murdered a young girl who also lived there who looked just like me. God bless you, Elizabeth Short.

I think the raindrops on the window added to the sadness and gloom of the story. I remember looking at the crime scene photos (full-on horror) in my copy of Hollywood Babylon....mixture of shock and sadness. You did a great job on this senseless crime...this is most likely why many mothers told their daughters to steer clear of Hollywood.

My dad was in the Navy during WWII and was in LA for a while. But he said he never went to the Hollywood Canteen. He did meet a few stars. Humphrey Bogart, Ray Bolger, Ward Bond.

The rain actually added to the sadness and mysterious of the story. Hodel's son, who was an LA homicide detective, believes his father was not only the Black Dahlia killer but the Zodiac Killer. I pictured some person living in that house on the spot where Elizabeth Short's body was found having no clue and looking out the window thinking "What is all this fascination with the corner of my lawn?" 😂

Jordan , I'm glad you did this video , bc even though I've heard people say the words or name Black Dahlia I didn't know what they were talking about. I haven't ever heard about this story before. You did a great job making this video. I gasped when I heard the lady talk about how her mother found out her daughter was dead . That was awful ...!! Thanks for sharing Jordan even though it was sad and horrific. I learn something new every time I watch your video's.

Hi Jordan. Omg, I used to hang out at Florentine Gardens in the late 70s & early 80s. I had no idea of the history of the place. Her poor mother, hearing of her daughter’s brutal murder, like it was a joke. No sensitivity at all, for what her mother was going through. They had no heart or sense of decency at the time.

This was Excellent, I've watched many times the information on this case, and most of this information was never shared or acknowledged in any way. She's usually just a murdered corpse, and this showed her as a living woman who sadly ended up a murdered corpse. Thank you! Excellent Job....

I agree with that paper, somebody knows who killed her. Someone knows something, RIDICULOUS! Don't apologize, Jordan, you did great!

Even with the rain, you still did a great Vlog. Very sad of how she died and that person threw her remains out in the empty field like a piece of trash. Well never find out her murder but I'm sure someone know the whole truth or the files but probably destroyed and will never see the light of day. Horrible of how her Mom found out about her daughter's death. I definitely want to take this tour but hope Scott Michaels does the tour.

The rain added to the somber story. The second tragedy of this vlog would be the growing number of homeless in tent cities. Thank you, Jordan.

YIKE$! I haven't watched yet but the bit I know that this case is as as equally gruesome as the manson family murders but includes dismemberment and
    remains an unsolved mystery.
Gotta kinda psychologically prepare before viewing but i'm
pretty sure Jordan has dug up some obscure facts bout this case that surely won't dissapoint!

Raindrops might be falling as this tour is being done however the sun shines whenever Jordan does a vlog! Very interesting story of the Dahlia and that George Hodel seems like quite an interesting character that fits quite well into the story. It's too bad that it hasn't been and probably never will be solved or at least not in my lifetime!.
