Just wanted to say a big thank you to you Mark, you are one of the reasons I have booked my first ever solo holiday to South Korea, your videos are so inspiring and you always film the best stuff, so thank you for everything you do, I will never stop supporting this channel.
one of your attitutes I love is how you appreciate foods wherever you go..Mark. I love your facial expression after taking a bite....You are great. Hi from Jeonju, Korea.. My Jeonju Tour.
The lady serving you at the hairtail place is keep saying sah-bi-ce ("service"). It is konglish (korean english) meaning "on the house". Lol looks like she gave you some extra dishes for free!
Haha yeah! I remember being so confused when I went to Korea. I thought the server accidentally gave me someone else's food that I didn't order! But I realised that it's quite a common practice for many Korean restaurants to give complimentary food as "service", which I think is absolutely sweet and such great hospitality 💕
I love how he describes all the food, from flavor to crunch but what really makes me happy is how he'll try something and his EYES say it all!!! Bravo!
That galchi jorim (hairtail fish braised in spicy sauce) was also one of my favourite dishes from South Korea. It took forever to pick out the little bones on that fish but it still didn't stop me from absolutely loving that dish! You can also eat it wrapped with nori.
Leilani, it's "hair(tail) fish", a.k.a. "belt fish" or "cutlass fish" (Trichiuridae). They are popularly eaten in Eastern Asia, and they are delicious.
Mark, I am a Korean culinary tour leader in Jeonju, and surprisingly you know what are into foods by just tasting the food, you first time had. Very good..and impressive. Dan Gray and I used to work together in Seoul...in early 2010... Great to see you and you will be in Jeonju on the next episode..Hope to meet you when you come to Jeonju the next time.
Wow I’ve been watching your videos when you had your long hair in 2010. You have definitely grown your excitement on your videos when your around food and around different cultures. It’s awesome.
When I eat new food I also love to eat it with different style and I see in all your videos that u do that. You are so genuine and the way you eat make its looks extra delicious. 😍
waaw... every time I'll be having a trip I always check your videos first about what places and food should I experience... like when I was going to Japan, I watched your videos first aaand now I'll be visiting Korea, I'm watching your videos first too hahaha
Mark... again i have to say that,,the way of explaining the taste of every dish is Marvelous... The words you use for describing #Taste #of #FOOD.. is toooo Very Perfect ... !!! & as usual ...tats a great vlog..also as i am a great fish lover...soo off course I just Loved it.. !! Good luck and eagerly awaiting for all ur upcoming vlogs..
I know this is an old video but hopefully you see this Mark. I know many many people would love Ying’s take on the food. Perhaps a separate channel. It would be fire!!!!
I am LOVING these Seoul videos! I'm heading to Korea in a couple months and I'm getting so many great ideas and getting more excited with each video. Keep 'em coming!
I'm so ready for more videos!!! Hope y'all are having a blast! I love watching you're reactions to such exotic and amazing foods! Can't wait to try them myself.
I'm Korean and living in the vicinity of Noryangjin fishery market. and Let me explain to you how to eat the fish 갈치 that you had in Namdaemun market. You know, eating 갈치 is very bothersome because it has too many prickles in it but once you know how to eradicate the prickles, it can be very amicable cuisine from now on . Hold a piece first and get rid of side edge prickles at one go by your teeth or chopsticks and then you can easily get rid of the prickles of both sides and just os centrale remains. that is the best condition that you can enjoy 갈치 without any difficulties or vexation. If you have 갈치 like mark did, your throat get stuck with lots of prickles.
Mark Jeonjoo is a very beautiful place. I am a Korean and your huge fan. your pronunciation is so good, so it is very helpful for me. Nowadays i am trying to improve my English, and i want to speak English like you.
I am a vegetarian but the pure pleasure you have in eating your food and your expressions is all worth it.. I would appreciate if you can point out to some vegetarian food joints too in your videos..
That Fish Market was so amazing. I think I would go there every day to eat if I lived nearby. So much quality fresh seafood. That sashimi looks so incredible. Would have been my first choice to eat for sure. About how much did they charge for that big plate of sashimi in Dollars?
Hi Mr.mark weins happy new year more good luck to your work.l like very much the Korean food. Long time ago I always eat Korean food look like Japanese food I can Cook jousa.
hairtail is by far one of my favorite fish!!! i was grocery shopping with my mom one day and she just told me to go buy this long silver fish, turned out it was the hairtail fish. my mom just seasons it with salt and pan fried it and it was just amazing. and im not a huge fan of fish (because i use to choke on the bones when i was younger) but hairtail is just too good!
your korean videos just caught my eye! and i just found myself exploring your other videos from ur channel! you are amazing! cant wait for ur next video!
+Mark Wiens You need to carry some disposable chopsticks and other utensils with you at all times. Lol Too bad your suggestion of the restaurant, next to the oxtail one, for lunch was turned down. It is a food channel after all, so your choice of an eatery should always come first! I'm disappointed we didn't get to see what it was and what they served. Looking forward to the Jeonju videos.
We call it Ribbonfish here in America, and it's a shame that people generally don't see it as great catch because effort to fillet it and the amount of meat you get isn't in a favorable ratio. It is however very very popular in Korea, as they grill it without filleting. Another reason it's much more popular in Korea is that they have the chopstick culture. You can easily(if you're a good chopstick user) pick apart the meat from the bone. If someone picks the meat of Gal-chi(Korean for Ribbonfish) and put it on your bowl of rice, that's when you know that person loves you. Most Koreans consider this as motherly love because mothers do it for you as you grow up. It is one of the most heartwarming, endearing gesture your mom does in Korea. I'm so lucky my mom still does it for me whenever I go back to Korea to visit her!
Spicy Hairtail Fish Stew is amazing in Korea. It has lovely taste. Thank you so much for letting me know about Korea's attractive food that BTS eats other countries. I'm so proud of you. Thank you so much for letting me know the taste of Korea to foreigners.
Oh man, that sashimi looked so good. I like it too. Nothing so pure than fresh raw fish. Can't wait until you go to Japan again to watch you enjoying more sushi dishes.
Love when you say something is ok that's how we all know it's not ok😂🤣😂😂😂🤣if it doesnt get the mark wiens signature face it ain't worth it
