  • Want to learn a Pier fishing rig to catch more fish? I’ll show you my favorite fishing rig to use while pier fishing. Pier fishing is a perfect time to use this rig because it is easy to just drop straight down. The Paternoster Rig a very sensitive drop rig that is tied with two or more hooks. It is a simple tie, the only tricky part is learning to tie the drop loop.

That was definitely the easiest way I've seen to tie a dropper loop and I've never even thought to cut one end of the loop to make it a single line instead of a double. Thank you for the tips.

Hi from Martinique. I find this montage great because it is very economical and very simple. There is no need to paster noster and the knots is simple and fast. Very good video.

    Hey skipper,
I made my own rigs like you by watching the video and got a ton more bites. I went to North Carolina and caught spotted trout, flounder, pinfish, and string ray. Had a big drum on but my main line snapped before the rig snapped. Great job sir and thank you for posting.

I've been really studying your videos. I bought each of your .pdf's as I already have a pretty good tackle collection. I had a somewhat successful pier fishing evening last week. I had never caught fish at a public pier, but I caught 2 catfish. Not a fish that I want, granted, but it was FISH. Today, I had tied a couple of pater noster rigs with yellow and red beads for beach fishing. Whiting are running. Again, I had NEVER caught a single fish surf fishing after having gone about 15 times. I caught a whiting on my second cast! I caught a total of 6 whiting and 1 catfish, followed me!, in less than two hours! Thank you for helping me learn how to fish in salt water in my beautiful state of Florida!

You're basically making a hi/lo rig with the two hooks instead of a sabiki which has up to 6. The tip about cutting the dropper loop is genius tho! I like that it has potential to be more stealthy, and give bait more life in the current (I fish in the surf a lot). The dropper loop is the one that consistently gives me issues, and your description of how to tie it is the best I've seen yet! I think I am going to adopt the way you tie it as my go-to from now on! so much easier! Thanks for a great video! Definitely subscribed!
