Hello! Nice video! I bought your same exhaust and in a few days I will mount it on my tt! from the video I did not understand one thing: did you cut both the exhaust pipe and the brackets that go into the anti-vibration grommets or just the brackets that go into the grommets and nothing else? have you reassembled the bracket with the four 13 screws with the new downpipe? Thank's U so much
Hello Stefano! thank you so much for your kind words! I just cut the two brackets that go into the anti-vibration groments, as they were too long, and were hitting the subframe behind the groments... in my video I have put the "mount plate with two gromets" upside down, so I couldnt replace all 4 screws. If you watch carefuly you will see a moment when I went full retard and fliped the orientation of the gromets xD If you do it right way, you will be able to put all 4 13mm screws back in like oem. Let us know how you like it!
Did you get the check engine light? I installed the same down pipe on my TT mk2 last week and can’t get rid of the check engine light. However, I didn’t install one of those adapters.
Cold air intakes yes indeed you could better use some sort of heat shield to also improve the air directing to the filter but this doesn't do much for power tho very small increase people do this mainly for sound, but if you really want to improve on intake performance you should rather upgrade the intercooler to one with more capacity and stronger cooling so the air is colder especially when the turbo is hot it will heathen up the air on the cold side of the turbo aswell
I didnt do the dyno before/after. But if you change downpipe you should get stage 1+. It is a big difference in driving experience and that is what i wanted- i got. Let us know how you like it
Can i please come work in your workshop? i Have a few upgrades to install and that space looks amazing for upgrades! haha Nice video as usual! Love the new sound!
Heheh i wish this was my garage. Its actually local place that has several lifts and they rent lifts on hourly basis. Its great, i was just so annoyed by the guy next to me just smashing the air compressor 😂😂
Back in my tuning days with my Acura RSX, the preference was a Cold Air Intake (CAI) which was usually routed so that the filter would sit in the bottom corner of the bumper cover behind an open air vent. It yielded the best gains, but was vulnerable to hydrosoak. (You were safe as long as you avoided deep puddles.) Anyone who used a short ram intake (SRI) lost power due to heat soak in the summer, and didn't really increase much in colder months of the year. They produced the dyno graphs to prove it. Your SRI is not even shielded, and sucking in warmed air from the engine bay. If you are looking for mods to increase HP/TQ, I think you took a step back. I remember reading somewhere that my TTS' factory airbox was good until 500hp, with the air inlet sucking in cold air from the front of the car. Something to think about...
You speak from experience and that is undenyable.. and also true. I however didnt do any dyno runs with it, so dont have it factual, but agree on what you say. Only upside is my colder climate :) Changed the car to mk3 now, new toy to wrench on :)
Great explanation! I want to add a downpipes too. I have a axle back Becker exhaust on y 08 TT, with a GIAC tune and Neuspeed Intake. Everyone is telling me I cannot get a downpipe without getting a CEL. What Downpipes do you recommend and does the extender part you used to space out the o2 sensor keep the light off the DP? Originally I bought a Unitronic downpipes bc that is one of the few still available(cracking down on makers of DP's from what I hear), and the only way to keep it from throwing CEL is to get a stage 2 unitronic tune. OF course , I don't want to do this, I like my GIAC tune, but what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Hey! thank you for your comment! the "adapter" I have did not help me with CEL. I do get it, and after I delete it, it comes back after some time... The best way around it is with custom tune. The tuner has to "delete" the o2 sensor out of your tune, and thats what is included in stage 2.
I will do my best. But to be honest, when you drive around town, normal, you can almost hear no difference. Its when you are 3000 rpm or higher that you really start to hear a nice difference 🤗🤗
I hope you did a tune after the install? Cause when you place a downpipe on your car the ecu has to be tuned to the new numbers
Ofc I did. It is a must, since these mods are considered “stage 2” :)

@@cars_anatomy thank you!!
Great video and thank you for sharing with us the before and after.
What rims are those and are they 18´ ?
Thank you!! Those are 19” original audi, i think they were called s-line rims
Hi bro, I plan on doing this to my TT. Did you experience drone on the highway?
Not really. All oem silencers stayed on which made it sound just right without uncomfortable noise :)
@@cars_anatomy Good to know. Used to have a muffler delete. It was pretty loud, and was droning very bad around 2-3k rpm.
@ it subjective, but in my opinion you will achieve more with just downpipe :)
Did you get the check engine light? I installed the same down pipe on my TT mk2 last week and can’t get rid of the check engine light. However, I didn’t install one of those adapters.
yes, i got one as well, and the adapter didnt really help... the only solution i know works is to tune the sensor out..
Hello! Audi TT Mk2, Golf Mk6 and Audi A3. These three car use this same downpipe ?
Well i have the same question. Did you find it out?
So dident take off th muffler ?

I agree. But I live in colder climate country so heatsoak isnt a bit concern for me. I also did it for the sound :)
Hello! I am about to do the same on a a3 2.0 tfsi (exact same engine) how many HP did you get out of the stage 1 with downpipe? Thanks for the video!
I didnt do the dyno before/after. But if you change downpipe you should get stage 1+.
It is a big difference in driving experience and that is what i wanted- i got. Let us know how you like it
I went from 200hp to 255 with stage 1 (aktuning)
Where did you get the down pipe from
from ebay. I sold my car and now I have this downpipe with both O2 sensors to sell, im in Austria. Let me know if you want it :D
@@cars_anatomy yeah send it to Australia
@@emrekaygusuz5093 xD
Hi, was hast du genau für ein Auspuff montiert ? Und wo findet man ihn
Danke
Nur downpipe von firma TA Technix, habe bei ebay bestellt.
Plus Stage 1, nicht vergessen :)
@@cars_anatomy mit Abe?
Wäre echt interessant, kriegt man sowas eingetragen?
@@bill0z671 also die Ta technix wird wohl ohne abe verkauft
Ja, leider ohne. Bin selber auf der suche nach was mit EGE, was nicht überteuert ist :(
is this still with the standard exhaust muffler?
yes, oem rear muffler :)
@@cars_anatomy I'd love to see a video of it driving around, I'm thinking of doing this myself!
@@DragK20Civic I just got back to all oem, as Im prepairing to sell. but trust me, you should do it, you will enjoy the car so much more!
Ging eine Lampe an mit der Downpipe?

I agree is a great setup though!
Ahhaah yes. I was sooo upset. I do need to think when I talk in english, and i couldnt hear my thoughts 😂😂
Super Sound!!! Ist rest von der Anlage orginal? Welche Marke hat dein Downpipe?
ja, sonst rest ist oem, TA Technix aus deutschland.
plus ich habe stage 1 + pop&bangs

@@cars_anatomy Thanks for the info! I will go with the tune to get the downpipes. They are just too good to avoid getting them. Cheers!
Lol loving the intro hahah
Great vid I'm going to put the 3"cobra turbo back system on mine
let us know how you like it! Prepare yourself good, work slowly and it will be great!
This is what I need
It will be possible to make a video with the car with the engine hot, just to hear the sound with the downpipe, Sound nice btw

I'm thinking of doing the same for the downpipe with 200cell

What sbout no cats here I am able to do so 🫣 in Arkansas there's no emission test 😅would hurt or help deleting them 🫥
help, but you need to get a ecu tune so that engine knows there is no obstructions in exhaust ;)
