I went summer skiing in Zermatt too! It was in July 2019. It's my first time skiing. Such a nice experience. It was difficult to film because I dont have a gopro but I still managed to do so. It's an experience I would always want to remember 🤗
I am becoming an accountant and I live in the US. my busy season is from January-April so I was looking for resorts that I can visit outside of those months. Thank you for sharing this video of amazing conditions in July! Looks like it's well worth the trip.
From May till July you have several other Alpine resorts to choose from, with good snowing conditions guaranteed. Hintertux and Molltaler Gletscher in Austria or Passo Stelvio in Italy, for example.
I hate to spoil your optimism, but it's not exactly certain that it's always going to look like this in July. For example, in 2022, it snowed very little during winter, and it was a hot year above average in the region... so by the time July arrived, the snow had pretty much melted away leaving the glacier bare black exposed.
Ski Bum wtf you're right, it's CHF 84 in spring/summer and CHF 79 in winter. crazy! i thought it'd be about half of winter price as only a handful of lifts are open, but it's even more expensive than winter prices!
Was this actually filmed in summer? I see in other videos people are just going up and down with T-lifts on quite short slopes. Thanks for the extra info to determine the length of my stay in july.
It was filmed at beginning of July 2018. Basically the summer slopes were the ones along the t-bars, the others were little flat and I used them to get to the t-bars from the top station and then to return to the bottom station. It was 6 years ago so it’s best to check updated map of the slopes, there is new gondola from the Italian side and the slopes could have been rearranged as the glacier melts.
What a dilemma. The views are breathtaking and I’d love to ski on summer vacation but the winter must be just incredible. I think if I spend the money for my family (from Canada) I’ll probably wait for the winter and really enjoy the slopes.
In winter glacier resorts can be extremely cold and there are many, many others open. Summer skiing is so great, as you can also enjoy mountain bikes or hiking. :)
Thanks. Any experience going up there from Cervinia? I think it's easier to reach when going by plane. Zermatt is a 3 hour drive from the airport.@@skibum_pl
nice gentle slope but where do you go from when you end ? was there a lift nearby? looks like the run ran out of snow or was it the end of the route. would like to go to swiss next just back from France was amazing in tignes
The summer slopes are not particularly steep. They're marked red and blue. The red ones provide very enjoyable angle, while the blue parts tend to be quite flat.
Et bien désolé, ça ne donne pas envie... Je suis déjà allé skier sur le Plateau Rosa, mais le principal intérêt est le paysage plutôt que la qualité du ski proposé...
Bruh for summer that is sone amazing snow

I want to do this in June. You just go to Zermatt ski resort and take the cable trolly up there?
Yes :)
Doesn't look to steep? I'm not super experienced but i can do this for sure, but my gf is not as advanced as me @@skibum_pl

@@RobertoVillaLobby unfortunately I only stayed in Zermatt
the slope looks pretty flat, I don't know if for a snwoboarder is really worth it
Top part (along t-bars) is fine, then it becomes pretty flat.
Snowboarders would likely need to walk.

Yes, there is a cable car station to go back to the top at 3900m.
It's about 100m walk.

LOL drunk...
Noo, just warming up, there are many athletes training
I go training there every automn
Nice gentle piste. Are there good pistes also for beginners in winter?
Unfortunately I have been there only in summer :)
I was there often in January. I began skiing when I was 6 years old, but I still like runs like that. It is a good area for beginners, too. I love it!
Hintertux seems better as you can ski until the lift.
Amazing 🤩
Really cool!!!🚀
Wow ...a lot bigger than le dues aples
