  • Join me on a trip and adventure of a lifetime to visit Kobuk Valley National Park located entirely in the Arctic Circle of Northwestern Alaska. I travel to the coastal community of Kotzebue, Alaska and booked a flight to land on the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes with a bonus stop landing on a active river bed on the Ambler River in neighboring Gates of the Arctic National Park. I visit the town of Kotzebue, the Northwest Arctic Heritage Center which serves as the National Park Visitor Center and give you tips on how to visit this very remote and hard to get to National Park. Gates of the Arctic and Kobuk Valley are in a remote part of Northern Alaska and see less than 10,000 visitors a year. The parks have no infrastructure and are difficult to visit without hiring an plane and traversing the remote wilderness. I did a day trip from Kotzebue and spent over 5 hours flying across the Alaska wilderness to step foot in both parks. Here is the entire adventure and let us know what you think in the comments.
