I seriously love the way John Wayne says "Let it Be". lol.
Speaking words of wisdom
Paul and his beautiful Linda!
Best acceptance speech ever. Ricky Gervais is proud.
early 1971 here....and dig Paul with his Elvis hairdo and sideburns!....he was showing that he was no longer a ''mop-top Beatle''
that was during RAM session. His hair was like that during RAM year.
@@goriotv2023 yes, after the breakup john and ringo initially got VErY short haircuts and Paul went back to his pre-1962 Elvis pompadour....apparently, it their way of saying the Fab Four was done and putting it behind them....John Fogerty did the same thing at about the same times as Creedence was falling apart as he began to wear a pompadour and a cowboy hat....even Davy Jones got a quite short haircut as the Monkees were dissolving around 1969-70...
At that time Paul had to be careful with his words on anything that had to do with The Beatles so he played it safe...
In my opinion it's a Beatles song and all four of them deserve to get an award
It was for the album and the writers of that album. If it had been for the Let it Be song then only Lennon & McCartney would have won anyway.
@@normandavidtidiman9918 Paul wrote Let it be, and he did not like his songs being credited Lennon-McCartney. He said they could at least switch the order to McCartney-Lennon.
John did not like "Mother Mary" since it could be intepreted as a religious meaning.
@@la7dfa Well, that's irrelevant. The song (like all John and Paul songs) was a Lennon - McCartney copywrited song. Of course it was Paul's song though (I'm old enough to have been around then so please don't try to educate me on the Beatles) but if they had still been a group I'm sure John would have been there with Yoko.
That acceptance speech almost made me cry. So beautiful.
Someday, all award acceptances will be this way...if only.
That’s all he had time to say after he had to come all the way from bum f-k Egypt in the back of the room. The cameras couldn’t even find him when his name was being announced.
@@deea6240 "bum f--k Egypt" lololol. You've been there then?
aw i love how linda went with him
I wonder if ppl would’ve said the same if yoko went with john
Paul always looked relatively tall but when standing next to John Wayne he looked like a young child still growing 😳
My admiration for Linda has grown through the years...
They were a couple everyone should admire. True soulmates.
I often thought about why Paul was so quick to accept the award and walk off. Now I think it was because Paul was too emotional, being a year after the Beatles Breakup, and he didn't want to lose it by crying in front of everyone watching. He took the breakup pretty bad i remember.
When I say "Thank you" I'm quote Paul McCartney, though most people don't pick up on that.
Paul : (comes up grab the award and then say the greatest speech in history) Thank you,
Goodnight.
John Wayne “ LAADDD IT BE…”
Bravo Paul !!
Bravo!!
You Tell Em' !!
Wrote a lot of good songs with good lyrics
Give a simple "thanks you" for winning three Grammy
Love u paul
Ele só ganhou um prêmio. Os outros são de John e George.
"Thank you."
- Sir Paul McCartney
John Wayne and Andy Williams on the Grammy Awards. My how times have changed.
Loved how he opened that envelope 💪
John Wayne, sure makes perfect sense
cant believe he didn't tell the crowd how he came up with let it be.
This isn't the narcissistic 21st century. And he isn't Dave Grohl or some other block head who shows up everywhere and never stops talking.
I remain fascinated by how only John, Paul, and George officially won this Grammy, yet all four (Ringo included) won the corresponding Academy Award.
John & Paul never seen together in moving video at all after the Beatles split. Pics yes. It all adds to the Beatles aura & you won't catch us in certain permeations. So there! Damn.
We are not ready yet for this speech
After so many awards, so many accolades and so many acceptance speeches, it's the only thing to say!
I loved how they were seated way back in the darkest section. VIP treatment for sure!
I don't think they were seated. They came, they conquered, they left.
Love this speech 😂😂
"Accepting the award, Paul McCartneeeey... and what blondy is doing coming up with him beats the crap out of meeee!"
"Thank you! [No comment!]"
Wait, Paul Mc wore His T-shirt outside His Formal Shirt, and Why Noboby talks about it. :D
Paul was like oh yeah I’ll just add this with my other thousand awards
I'd hate to think of what his trophy room would look like. He probably has so many awards stashed in there that as soon as he opens the door to his trophy room, they would all start spilling out.
I sat through Get back " documentary kinda long but made really see The fab four how truly amazing musicians they were sadly Global Fame broke up the band .too much to soon .
best speech ever
The greatest speeches ever i have ever heard since I was in 1st Grade
The Beatles were still going through a bitter divorce at this time. I’m sure Paul was stressed and he thought fuck it, I have nothing to say
OK APPROVED GREAT CONGRATS Sir Paul and Madam Linda! You have all the meaning of TWO THUMBS UP!!!
The Beatles were Well before their time. Paul Mccartney sporting a mullet in 1971... groundbreaking
LOL...
Billy Shears 1967 - 2023 Faul mc Campbell
that was his, "I spent the last five years toking and some of those years using coke, lsd, heroin speech...so I m gonna get try me best, and walk up there and pick the award, but I d rather be stoned eating chips, listening to my new song maybe I m amazed but hey, thank you.-speech ".]
That was surreal.
Linda's joy cannot be hidden!
They left Ringo out. The best speaker ever. Ooh the irony. Thank you!
Ringo didn’t work on this song look it up lol
The longest speech in two words
Hahaha. What a speech. You legend, Paul. Beatles live forever!
You don't get more trans-generational than John Wayne to The Beatles.
The level of animosity between Paul & John & George was probably at its height right about the time of this award. The lawsuits were flying all over the place.
John Wayne's appearance in this is great- he'd pass on around eight years later due to Cancer.
I was figuring McCartney was going to make a nice speech, but this video seems to be a very nice window into less than two minutes of an early era of a decade I can only wish I could of seen.
John Wayne in 1971, still encouraging guys to go die in Vietnam even though he avoided service in WW2, unlike Jimmy Stewart, Mel Brooks, David Niven, Charles Bronson, Kirk Douglas, Paul Newman and others.
@@relicofgold okay there little snowflake.
70s great and more class. Actually until 2000 all was pretty nice . This century sucks and more of trash
WTF was The Duke doing at the Grammy's? He's an actor, not a musician or anything related to the field of music.
I was moved by his great speech... "Thank you"!
Awww.... the band just broken up... i think Paul might still felt a bit sad while receiving the awards...☺☺
That's THANK and then YOU
THANK YOU
Paul Mc Cartney
