I'm adopting a maltipoo who is being rehomed from a family that is giving her up. She's 10 weeks old and 3 pounds. She has coccidia and is still testing positive after a week. Thank you for this video - it's very helpful.
I just got a three-month-old puppy from a breeder who was diagnosed with coccidia within 7 days of being at my house. The breeder told me they'd had an outbreak there, and he'd gotten it, but his final fecal was clear in August (he was born in July) I did not know this when I purchased him. It wasn't in his medical records, though Giardia was. I had a 7-day health guarantee, but I assumed the antibiotic would knock out the infection. It did not. I did a second round, and then learned that I needed to steam clean all my rugs, carpets and use Rescue ammonia solution on my floors. So the whole time I had this pup, he could not play with other puppies, go to pup training school, the puppy park, or my parents' farm because he could have tracked coccidia into their house and my sister has a little dog. We have to visit our parents on a regular basis because they're sick, and it's a two-hour drive total. I could not leave the puppy in the crate for more than three hours, so I could not go there for the day. And I could not bring the puppy with me. I had to return him to the breeder with no refund, although she did promise me a replacement pup in the future. I liked her and we had a good relationship, but giving him up was heart-breaking. I thought this was going to be a simple disease that was knocked out with antibiotics, but it went on for a month. If it wasn't for having to care for my parents, I would have kept him and waited it out. However, I did wonder if this was going to become chronic if he'd had it three times in three months. I returned him on Wednesday and I'm obsessing and wondering if I made the right decision. I adopted an adult dachshund from the shelter four years ago that had so many health and behavioral problems that I lost 30K and much sleep and time with friends and family in just one year. I had no life. I did not want to go through that again.

Hey Did you say 13ml or 30ml of liquid per gallon?
Since making this video I’ve found something better to use. It’s called Toltrazuril!
Steam floors works!
