I have always wanted to visit NZ. Maybe some day I'll brave the 20+ hour flight. Thanks for watching.

My first landing (C172), I bounced 4 times until the instructor told me to take it around. Debrief he commented "...you were just bouncin' up & down that runway like a happy puppy".

Great videos, thanks for posting all these. I started flying the DA40 recently for my instrument training and it has been a treat to fly. A question for you, as you seem well-versed in the DA40.
The flying school I am at has an identical DA40 to you, with G1000 and KAP140 autopilot etc. Our #4 CHT gauge is inop, and I'm wondering if this will cause a problem in my instrument checkride? My CFII isn't entirely sure, as per the regs you must deactivate and placard a non-working instrument (if it's not required equipment) ... but how would you deactivate 1 single CHT gauge on a G1000? The placard is the easy part of course, but we aren't sure exactly if something else needs to be done before the checkride so the DPE doesn't make it an issue.
It's confusing us so thought I would ask if you've had any experience with this.

You could have an A&P disconnect the defective CHT probe (under the cowling) and make a log book entry stating it is deactivated pending replacement. Then placard it in the cockpit. But, you may have a bigger issue that will null that solution. The AFM Minimum Operational Equipment List states the "Integrated Engine Instrument" must be functional. I could not find an exact definition of what that is but, in Chapter 6.5 under engine, all items on the MFD engine page are listed. So, I could see a DPE saying that the engine page is the Integrated Engine Instrument in which case the airplane is not airworthy unless all indicators on that page are functional. I do not know if that is correct but, you will have a hard time disproving that line of thinking based on the AFM (unless I missed something somewhere). If you cannot get the probe replaced before the check ride, I would talk to the DPE ahead of time and explain what is going on and see what his interpretation is before having it pop up when you are ready to get the check ride done. Hope this helps.
