I noticed you didn't specify when you plug the usb into the ps4, I'm guessing you do it before you load the 2nd payload

Mine goes black screen for two seconds than a blue screen and nothing after and I did everything correct.

I did this, and my linux usb drive was plugged into the back (doesn't fit in the front). For some reason my hard drive is dead now.

Hello, reconnect USB and then it will not be possible to connect, after that, to crtl+alt+f2
You will get into a shell screen.
After that, just do crtl+alt+f1 and there you have your desktop

Turns out that the TV i was using wasn't compatible. I am now using my pc monitor

i have a problem, i copy the files to a fat32 usb, i send both payloads succesfully with the usb in, it gets to a blackscreen and it stays like that, i've tried two screens, two usbs and even triying in exfat instead of fat32. I dont know if there is any other step missing in the video, someting like creating some partitions or something.
You have to have the USB (preferably USB harddrive) be FAT32 format. And you have to partition using Rufus.

when i run the payload to load gentoo, it doesn't load anything, the console runs out of signal, I tried on another ps4 slim and it works correctly (sorry for bad english)

try a bzimage that is compatible with your ps4. It will either be Belize/Aeolia = PS4 Fat or Baikal (Newer PS4 Models)

I already installed linux on my ps4 with your last tutorial, but unfortunately it seems that some ps4 models don't have proper drivers for wireless internet and bluetooth, i even tried another kernel but nothing. Does this have these drivers fixed? Modded warfare in his tutorial to install gentoo on 6.72 said that the drivers still has this problem, but i dunno. maybe this one is updated?

I don't know if this works for gentoo, but it does for the other PS4 distros I have installed. (Fedora 32 and Manjaro)
1. Load the Linux payload successfully.
You'll know when the LED on the front of the console goes from white to blue/purple. The screen will turn black and the loading text will scroll down.
2. Turn off your router.
3. Let it boot into Linux and log in.
4. Turn on your router.
5. Connect to the Internet like you normally would with wifi.
You should now be able to connect permanently with no disconnections.
Also, gentoo is not the best distro for PS4. It's incredibly outdated. Use Fedora 32, Manjaro or Ubuntu instead. I find the Linux version of Fedora 32 to be the best version to use for me. Has all the software you want very neatly organised and working. Make an .img file of your USB drive after you install it and when you have made all the changes you want and have it working well, you can just reflash it if you break it. Of course, update the software but don't update the video card drivers. They are specifically made for the PS4 and anything else breaks them.

@@makandalp If you're using gentoo, install a different PS4 distro on another USB drive like Fedora 32 and see if you have similar issues.

@@davidyd4 I haven't tried the method because it's risky but you could check out modded Warfare's latest video where he mentions that the method exists. He'll be doing a video on it soon

Does anyone know if you run the tempature control homebrew application before booting to Linux if it sticks to that temp in Linux? Or would you need to adjust the fan speed in Linux itself with another application?

I followed your arch linux tutorial and it works fine, but in your gentoo tutorial it doesn't boot like yours I'm in "rescueshlell, do you know why this is happening?

Like I say, copied every step you did and have a black screen, been about 30mins now and still nothing on screen.
Its a problem with the Bzimage file. Depending on your model of your ps4 you may need a different one... I have the same problem

Something is missing from all Linux tutorials, all show how to prep the USB stick etc, but non explain what PS4 settings needs to changed.. if they do.
It’s the RUclipsrs faults. They always miss one simple yet crucial step for some reason. It’s incredibly annoying, they always rush to get their tutorials out before others and push out incomplete guides
@@C4DeadCharge The tutorial is good and clear, I think it's aimed at PS4 users who have installed Linux before, and its a 9.00 update video. We need a from the start video, im reading different things, disable this, enable that, then opposite else where.

USB hdd. Nothing installs to your PS4 hdd.
@@mbcrump Thank you!!! Tried to do it and everything went fine until i try to send the linux loader payload, it fails with a system disposed exception. Cannot access this object : System.Net.Sockets.Socket... Could be because im not using a SSD and just a regular USB 3.0? Seems weird because i think that object it's associated with internet (very welcome to correct me if it's not like that because im not an expert hahah).
