I think "Fred" is a snapshot in time when people first started realizing that anyone with a camera & an internet connection could potentially become famous. It seems like Lucas & his "Fred" inspired some of the early audio & video filters that were avaliable on smartphones & social media apps. I would even say that the character "Fred" influenced the pop culture during the late 2000's & early 2010's. That's pretty amazing for a kid who was basically goofing off with a camera.

I think a lot of adults forget that kid often just want a fun goofy movie. My favorite movies as a kid were the spy kid movies because of that reason. Not everything needs to be some beautiful symbolic art piece. I know these aren't high quality movies but I still have a love for them. They were fun and that's all that matterd then.
spy kids and shark boy and lava girl were top tier
fred was funny, spy kids was just wank
John Cena: *Abuses tf out of his son*
Lucas: “Such a good dad👍”
I think it's time for me to admit that I still have a Fred pen that screams lines from the movie when you click it.
whaaaaat if I wouldn’t known that was a thing I would’ve got it too 😂
Lololol
It still works??
@@HeyyitzAlyssa lol yeah
I’m an envious green eyed little troll right now lmao
The best scenes involved you and your mom. Also, the banter between you and the sales clerk in the pet shop and the “squirrel” deserved an Oscar nod. Side note: the cashier is Oscar from The Office.
"Its worse than the time you made me stay at the Marriott!"🤣🤣🤣"and ur useless" still use these lines with my hubby. He knows I'm kidding. My son 5-6 yr. old son ordered this movie On Demand behind our backs. We didn't know untill we got the bill😳😳😳😳
That's right mom, I am a Figglehorn
If I ever get a Pomeranian, I’m naming him/her Squirrel, in honor of Fred.
I remember watching this movie on a loop as a kid. I think my parents hated me for it lmao
SAME
My parents would always leave the room lol.
right my parents hated the high pitched screams
I was just rewatching these clips and I’m omg my poor parents lol
This movie is my first memory of having empathy I think I felt so bad for Fred when everyone was making of of him😭😭😭😭
While I watched Fred on RUclips when it first came out, I had just outgrown watching Nick by the time the films came out. This is my first viewing, and what a masterpiece I’ve missed. This reaction is actual life and seeing current Lucas is amazing.
I always thought Judy coming over at the end was just another fantasy, especially because Derf is there
That's trueeee
The Fred Party scene is honestly one of my favorite movie scenes of all time! My sister and I talk constantly about throwing a Fred Party someday
no because same lmao it just looks fun
My favourite childhood guy lucas Cruikshank thanks for making my life enjoyable love you brother from pakistan you are the one making me happy and laugh when ever i get sad
the fred movie is actually funny and enjoyable and no one can change my mind
10:43 Lucas : “he should have gotten an Oscar for this”
10:58 The guy gets Oscar from “the office”
lol, i was bouta say the same thing
lol, there‘s also that one evil dean from Community in that very same scene
I was thinking the same thing.
My sister and I found the 2nd movie on something and actually had a fun time watching it :') a lot of the humor that made no sense back then has oddly came full circle.
They used to all be on tubi for free. But they took the first one off. The 2nd and 3rd are still on there though
I remember bein a kid watching him. You honestly made my childhood I’m so happy to c you now in my adulthood keep goin you’re a star 💙😊👌🏽
“NOTHING WILL COME BETWEEN OUR LOVE JUDY NOTHING!”
“…”
“OH MY GAMMIT KEVIN!!!”
I would pay for a whole commentary of the Fred Movies with Lucas.
I can only imagine Megan Thee Stallion watching this movie and living her best life because of this cinematic experience.
🐴
Lmao
You mean Marcus
@@CHTU No, this is not the place for misogynoir. Pack your bag and leave the premises.
She would eat this up like it was the vampire diaries!
Im 24 now, gonna be 25 soon. Rly hitting my adult years, but as a kid i loved fred. Theres a lot of nostalgia here
I always felt like Derf was my favorite parts of the movies
The fact that he’s the opposite of Fred
(Name spelt backwards)
(Deep pitched down voice)
(They’re depressing and cynical)
Was kind of entertaining to me
I think "Fred" is a snapshot in time when people first started realizing that anyone with a camera & an internet connection could potentially become famous. It seems like Lucas & his "Fred" inspired some of the early audio & video filters that were avaliable on smartphones & social media apps. I would even say that the character "Fred" influenced the pop culture during the late 2000's & early 2010's. That's pretty amazing for a kid who was basically goofing off with a camera.
it was when annoying creeps were still just idiots with stupid videos on good 'ol pre-corporate youtube... now they become celebrities and "boxers"...
I'm surprised when he's start under 2010, becos everyone I'm known famous early RUclips is around above 2010
Him and other RUclipsrs, yea
Nah og Fred had a plot
this solidifies the fact that John Cena has always been a hilarious dude. His comedic timing is perfect. I bet James Gunn watched this and immediately cast John Cena for Peacekeeper.
I’m dying at the thought of James Gunn watching the Fred movie(I’m sure he just watched John Cena’s scenes) is hilarious😂
Holy , I can't believe I found you. Honestly back in 2008 you were all I watched . I remember coming home from school and watching all ur videos. Every day
Fred had a GRIP on my childhood. Whenever I expected spongebob to be on it would be the movie replaying for the 10th time that day
Hysterical how Fred's dad in the movie was literally just John Cena
I like Fred part 2
Not Lucas having to pirate his own movie. That’s actually so iconic 😂
Lol
i think you meant ironic
@@Jordan-dw9ml no I meant iconic
@@allymariegagne2797 lol right
@@allymariegagne2797 why he have to pirate his own movie I am child I don't understand so let me know
I do remember the fred movie, I watched it at my buddies house. Dude the part where fred destroyed the living room, me and my buddy laughed so hard we lost our voices. Lucas you are talented. Never stop making content.
sometimes i forget that lucas was fred because at first i was like “omg it’s fred let me subscribe” but like now i just see him as lucas only-
I subscribed on the suspicion, but I couldn't figure it out. He's actually hilarious though
rewatching the Evan scene as a 20 year old is still equally as traumatizing as when i was 9
I was 8 when this came out, I got it on DVD and I watched it so many times. Fred & annoying orange were my childhood obsessions.
"He's such a good dad..."
"He was abusive."
😭
Peace, around the world, for generations.
The first thing that always comes to mind when I think back to Fred. ❤️
okay but camp FRED was my shit! IT HAD NO RIGHT BEING AS GOOD AS IT WAS
THE SONGS IN THE MOVIE SLAPPED
@@aaliyah768 YES LIKE LOSER SONG WAS SO GOOD
I haven’t seen this since I was 10 so this is hilarious to watch again as a 21 year old😂
I was 9… this was my first time rewatching it since it came out. Whoaaa
How are we 21 now I feel so fucking old 🧓
do you guys have your life together yet? 21 here too
@@damianlim3429 lmao nope. Not even close
lol imagine thinking 21 is old
I remember before I had Netflix, or anything like it, I specifically planned my 10th birthday party to fall on the day the Fred movie would be on TV. We recorded it and me and my friends watched it 3 times in a row. It was a masterpiece to us kids at the time.
Things That Feel Illegal But Aren't Actually Illegal:
1. Leaving a store without buying anything.
2. *PIRATING YOUR OWN MOVIE.*
Edit: Friendly reminder, this is a joke comment. I know pirating is illegal. Geez.
Pirating is illegal
@@masterskywalker8877 yea but its more of those "who gives a frick" laws
@@masterskywalker8877 Is it illegal if the movie is yours?
@@masterskywalker8877 your name speaks for itself
@@thanatoast Yes it's illegal even if it's his. The rights to the movie aren't owned by him, it's owned by Nickelodeon. Lucas owns Fred, but Nickelodeon bought the rights to Fred for the Fred movie, therefore making them the owners of the movie.
This was so nostalgic lucas when you make all this nostalgic stuff videos you are literally a part of that love you and jacob sm!!!
You gotta do the rest of the Fred movies now… Fred 3 is literally a masterpiece
This brings me back to a whole different era of time😭i wish all the movies would show on tv again
This movie MADE my summers as a kid. When it would play on Nickelodeon after a long day of swimming or playing outside I would get to watch this masterpiece lol
I loved your RUclips vids as a kid and the movies and the series. I can’t believe it was like 12 years since that’s even been a thing.
I’ve been saying Meese. Ironically for so many years just because of this movie. Thank you Fred 🙏🏼
I would just like to say when I moved out I went through all of my dvds and got rid of the ones I didn’t want and the Fred movie has stayed with me to this day.
when i was little i truly thought derf and fred were different people
😭
