First time l saw Feat 75 Chicago. Lowell, Richie and Paul RIP. Now 47 years later blessed to have seen over 40 more shows. They still roll right through the night. No band ever stays the same let alone the loss of talent. Scott and Tony are a Great fit. Why isn’t this band in the Rock n Roll Hall ? While so many one or two hit wonders are.

Got introduced to Little Feat about 1979 in Denton, Texas from Dave Meriwether. Thanks Dave for your influence. Thanks Little Feat for your music.

I have seen them six times. First 1977 with Lowell and then Craig Fuller a few times and then Shaun Murphy a few times. They always devastate the crowd and the last time was at Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas where Paul took on all duties. Although Fred and Scott do a more than an excellent job, Paul Barrere was an assassin on guitar as well as Rickie on drums and my favorite bass guitarist all times Kenny and let's not forget Sam and Bill. All shows were excellent to a higher degree. But My favorite was the Seabrook Music Festival. In 2008 or 2009 they closed the three day event. It was almost freezing cold, it was raining and miserable. Those of us who lived in Seabrook at the time all volunteered to get this small town festival happening. By the time the Feat came out it was muddy and cold. The stage hands brought the roof of the stage down to maybe twenty feet above their heads so the lights could warm them and the rain wouldn't get them. They started as usual with some rhythm and bass and then Shaun Murphy stopped the band. At this time there was maybe 30 of us left huddled under plastic tarps I had gathered. She made the band stop and said she said, here is a note from the promoter: We know the conditions aren't good and if you need to cancel we understand and you have been paid in full, Thank you. Then Shaun Murphy said, hey if you are out there in the rain and cold just to hear us, then we are going to play for you. Paul says "as soon as I can feel my hands". We all laughed they gave a blistering two hour show with no stops between songs at all, they just ripped it and gave us their all and we probably sounded like a few hundred people. Afterward we fed them BBQ and got to chat a bit. They were very humble and normal. But they needed to get to their hotel and get some well needed rest before they moved on down the line. I'll will never forget it. The latest band incarnation does fantastic justice and some times if you close your eyes on some songs you can't tell it's not the original. Rock on guys.

Seen the Feat in many of its permutations. First time in '76. Lowell was in fine form! Seen them three more times over the years, was in Columbus, Ohigho for the opening of this album. Goosebumps were had by all, as well as some serious fun, fun stompin' and movin' to the music. But I digress, just saw them last Friday (with Hot Tuna opening), 45 years hasn't stopped them! Yes we miss those who have left us too soon, but the boys in the band showed us why the Feat(s) will never stop in some hearts!

These guys were the last opening band in July 76’ before the Stones, who sucked, played. Lowell George was at his finest! This was the tour supporting the Waiting for Columbus double album. The Tower of Power Horns played along with them too. John Miles and the Meters band played as warm ups to Little Feat. After LittleFeat played I was done, but had to stay several songs into the Stones show, but they were just the Stones. Seeing Lowell George and Little Feat were a highlight I have to this day...my first show in Europe.

@@1927su Thanks so much! Yeah being in the service took me to places and events, that were one-off’s in life. I was particularly interested in going to concerts. In Europe during the middle and late 70’s, concert events were as frequent as volksmarching in Germany! The show’s were epic, the likes of which will never be seen again.
Once at a Jethro Tull concert, the band took a break 10 min or so, but my friend at the show too, got busted with hash. We went to find him, we ended up behind the stage, ran in to Ian Anderson himself, he asked us what was up? We told him our friend had gotten arrested and we were looking for the place where they’d have taken him...Ian Anderson looked at us and said, basically, “...oh, your Buddy got popped?...” He kinda shook his head a bit and we left...one more was seeing Rory Gallagher in Rottweil, W.Germany. Somehow that was one of the most ⚡️ electric shows EVER!!! The town where the big dogs originated, played host to one of the biggest dogs of rock and roll history!!! Awesome!

I bet that hash was good. Yea Little Feat would be my preference over the Stones. Seeing Rory must have been Epic!

@@stratocaster1greg it was more than good...the Tull concert was viewed by my mate and I thru the organic musings of a cactus, something I’ve not done since that evening, forty four years ago. Sure dug it that night! What a memory! Thanks for the kind words!

I don't know if anyone who is a Feat Fanatic has really thought about this album title: "Waiting for Columbus" and what the band may have been referencing or inferring. IMHO the band was just Waiting for their genius to be discovered. The title is simply genius, if that is what the original intent was. Let me know if this thought is already public knowledge.

I am a cynic about the groups that try to copy the great groups..or even those with some original members..frankly I was pleasantly surprised with the current group..but still not really capable of producing the soulful blues/funk/fusion magic of the original Little Feat

The most amazing thing about this greatest band is that they hold the integrity of their music as the players evolve, whatever the reasons) They are unique to themselves, and we get to experience that. Total talent
