      In my opinion you're right.
A very serious, borderline bitter personality he is displaying here and moreso for several years
(I might be completely wrong and perhaps he's extremely relaxed/outgoing in private).
Almost of all his smiling seems pretty much forced to me,
beginning in 2009/2010 when they started (mis)placing him more and more in stupid commercials.
It is extremely difficult, this constellation, in terms of voicing one's opinion.
In almost 20 years of the big 3 being the big 3,
there have been certain patterns recognizable to me amongst the fan bases,
showcasing the good as well as the worst.
There are particular trigger points to each of the groups... just pathetic...
If there was a gun pointed at me, it would be very difficult,
but in the end, questions like overall favourite player, playstyle AND personality,
or just playstyle, or just personality, overall worst fanbase,... there would be a clear, non-biased answer to all though.
No matter if it was a 0:6 loss, a third set would have been awesome.
R.I.P. one of the greatest rivalries in sports : (

Awesome, that made things more even. Very Astute observation on your part. Considering, Rafa is retired, played maybe 3 singles matches, since the Olympics, is completely out of shape, had taken pretty much a whole year off with injuries. When he did come back, mentally had a hard time making himself go full out, as he thought doing so, would make him get hurt again. As he admitted, I’m not playing well enough to win anymore. Mentally & Physically, he was done. Probably more Mentally. Going full out, driving & hustling for every ball, was a massive part of Rafa’s game. You can’t be successful at a high level only going 90-95%. Novak’s not an idiot, he knows all this. He knows he was playing a completely different Nadal.

The same thing was said to me about Michael Jordan in 1990 when nobody thought he would win the NBA, much less that he would be better than Magic or Burd, time will tell. You should consider that miracles exist, and if not, think about everything that had to happen for him to be born on this planet. In 2022, they also laughed at what I wrote about Alcaraz, after 2 years he already has 4 Grand Slams, next…

Nice end to their chapter. I'm sure nadal didn't mind losing at all and didn't expect lofty standards this tournament. He's just there to have fun and another final hurrah
