These tutorials are SO helpful. I find myself wishing you all were partnered with Pinball Arcade so Bowen could do voiceovers and tips. He's so knowledgeable and his laid back delivery is so soothing after really plugging hard at a game and getting nowhere.
10:12 Oh wow, when I was playing this table in Pinball FX3, I had a moment where Bud blocked the center ramp for an abnormally long time and thought it was a bug! After hearing you mention what causes Bud to stay up, I looked back at my recorded gameplay and lo and behold, I had shot the center ramp 4 times in a row! ;u; Thanks for the confirmation that I wasn't going crazy there, heh! Also thank you for this tutorial as a whole too! Lots of cool tips about the table and general pinball techniques. :D
There's a bunch of glitches with this game, even in The Pinball Arcade. Sometimes after you get Wizard mode either Bud or Buzz will REFUSE to go back down (most commonly by taunting you), which means you have to 'hook' or 'slice' the slam ramp shot in order to make drives or to qualify ramps towards multiballs. And I've also had the "We're not going to reward the lock" glitch that came up in this video. I hope that someone does decide to do a rom update that takes care of some of these glitches. But yeah, I try to complete holes as it will give you a better bonus, which makes the gofers a much more lucrative shot. Pretty much, your only bonus for the game is through your scorecard. But yeah, HIOs will help but if you're adept at shooting the water hazard/putting green, try to take your golf score down by hitting gofers (Upwards from 1 million per hit, 1 stroke off from your current score to a minimum of 2 strokes)
I have this machine on pinball arcade and had for years since 2016 and this is my favorite machine and surprisingly the one I’m best at I’m a novice but my best score on gophers is 43 million and I think three hole in ones in a row
I always wondered how many takes Bowen does, till a good game comes up :)... Here we see at the beginning, that this was the 4th try, as "CREDITS" jumped a few numbers down after the intro speech :)... Love the tutorials.
the hole in one shot being the best shot in all of pinball is a ballsy call. What about the target sweep on eight ball deluxe? hahaha it does look like a wicked shot though. its prerequisites make it a rewarding shot. as well as the sheer skill of it
I Play This Tablw On Pinball FX3 OnMy PS4 . Youve Encouraged Me To Try And Do BetTeR On This Table . Some Pinball FX3 Tables Just Dont Seem So Fun But Ima Try No Good Gofers Again .
There's a reason why later ROM revisions of Gophers allow the operator to turn off the upper kick-out action except during the multi-ball. It also changes how you get drives to shoot holes. This seems to be the first revision that they're using (Digital recreations of Gophers in FX use it too). This is a game I'd really like to love in FX but man it's so buggy and arbitrary with its drains.
Does such a thing as a fake ball exist? like ALI express quality, we have a machine in our school so students can relax but the ball get's airbourne. Also sadly it's poorly maintained :(.

Those gophers got sassy with you at the end. That one popping up and calling you a "cheater" while you are dialing in your initials, heh!

It is easier for me to get the jackpot by backhanding the right lock ramp during multiball!!
