Historically the Raptors should be held in high respect not only because they won in 2019 but because the very first game was hosted in Toronto vs new York.
Old news old news still it will never ever change and tim donaghy a former nba ref who actually was part of the mob ties still who was actually bias against the Suns during the spurs playoffs still so yeah said that the nba doesn't want the raptors winning another championship tho still fo realz so yeah duh.😢
Don’t take Kawhi’s decision to go back home personally. He delivered a championship and wanted to go home. Nothing wrong with that. However, I will never forget the NBA explicitly showing not a single Raptors’ highlight in their regular season highlight reel for the award ceremony for the 2019 season. You know? The season the Raptors were the champions?
It because of Vancouver. Those numb nuts. The nba sees toronto as an expansion mistake. It was suppose to be two teams and possible two more (mortreal and Alberta) . But crack head Vancouver messed everything up.
I also hate the cold winter narrative, minnesota, and milwakee both have colder winters then Toronto and shares the same or similar climates to many cities such as Chicago, detroit, indiana, cleveland, boston, philadelphia, even New York not much difference. Then they try to use the same excuse for Vancouver but Vancouver in the winter is even more mild than any of these cities mentioned lol
To my understanding, the lack of US broadcast coverage has more to do with the cost of obtaining rights from Canadian media. ESPN for example has already paid broadcast rights from the NBA but has to pay TSN or Sportsnet to air a Raptors game. If you're within Canada, all Raptors games are blacked out on league pass because of local broadcasts.
It absolutely is a real thing. The reason: $. While the Raptors have proven to be more than profitable for the league and a worthy franchise, the financial incentives and biases that exist influence nearly everything from media, roster, officiating, etc.
Almost 6 years later you'd think Stephen A Smiths heart would explode inside of his chest if he mentioned the the raps winning the title without mentioning the GS injuries.
The fact GSW are still using hypothetical as if, "the injury" as an excuse should be an honor to any Raptors fan. Raptors ended the GSW three peat is great feat. Forever echo in history.

To be fair, the NBA and NBA media turns off a lot of cities and markets. Then people legitimately wonder why the ratings are declining. I mean, the Knicks are viewed as some prestigious franchise. Yet, when looking at their history they haven't accomplished much!
I hate the narrative that the raptors only won because of the warriors injuries. They beat them when klay played too, even though they try to pretend he was out the whole series. The raptors also beat the warriors both regular seasons games with kd and Kawhi didn't even play one of them
As a Canadian, I wasn't sad when the Grizzlies left Vancouver but at times I feel surprised the Raptors are still in Toronto. Back in 2005, when the Grizzlies and Raptors entered the NBA, TSN, the only sports channel in Canada at the time, decided after years of low ratings for the NBA, dropped the league from it's schedule to focus more on Blue Jays baseball and NHL hockey, especially the Maple Leafs. If you didn't live in Toronto or Vancouver and wanted to support one of the teams outside of their market? FORGET IT!! Grizzlies and Raptors games were available on local television stations that had a small regional market. Grizzlies only reached Vancouver and the Lower Mainland as far east as Chilliwack on VTV (now CTV BC, go figure. It's now province wide), and the Raptors had a Southern Ontario audience where Citytv was available. After TSN pulled the plug on NBA games being available nationally, CTV filled the void, and miserably at that. Only times people outside those markets were able to see NBA basketball, including the Raptors and Grizzlies, was on the weekend!! Sure it was nice to see the Raptors win in 2019 but it almost looks like, from the perspective of Americans, there was no champion that year.
First of all McGrady left so he could be a starter because he was on the bench in Toronto. Chris Bosch left to join a super team in Miami with Wade and LeBron and if Kawaii is so great, how come he hasn’t done shit in LA when they stacked the team for him
Even with When Toronto Raptors Won The Championship..They Won and then Covid happened next Season...So that too also threw off The Team and also was less talk of Them Winning The Championship because of The Covid..
I’m from Oregon and never do I ever hear anyone in the media and outside of Portland talk about the Blazers. Nobody ever mentions how good we were in the 90 or 2000’s. And I’m pretty sure if we won the championship no one outside of Portland and maybe Seattle would care. The PNW as a whole is a lot like Canada in which we always get passed over by the rest of the US in sports despite having some of the best fan bases in the major leagues.
Let's be real here it's not just U.S that doesn't really take Raptors seriously, even Canadian news sports don't. TSN or sportnet hardly talk about basketball, let alone Raptors basketball. Only true fans have been since day 1. Most don't care and others just jump on the bandwagon when they have success.
Crossing the border can be a pain in the ass for players and their families. But I'd say it's the tax code in Canada that ruins Canadian sports teams. It was amazing watching my raps win in 2019
Player can only move to USA if they leave raptors Because ALL THE OTHER TEAMS ARE IN USA there’s LITERALLY no other team in Canada 🇨🇦 to go to So no other choice
FAs just favor going to NY, LA and MIA, and MAYBE CHI and Bay Area. Like if I'm an FA and the choice is between staying in PHX/PDX or going to MIA, guess it's not much of a contest
We create the game of ball host the first nba game ever and create stars or started aka, paskal, Norman Powell, vanvleet, and look show we made Lowry a star because on Memphis and Houston he was just a starter
Lowry was barely a starter in Memphis, and only started half the games while he played in Houston because his problem was he was never in great shape when he played in those cities.
