Spring can't come soon enough for the MT09 SP. I'll be turning heads this summer boy.
I bought the 2023 Tracer 7GT last year. I use it to commute in London and also rides out with the boys at weekends. Going touring this summer. It's perfect for what I need it for. It has good fuel economy for commuting and a little bit of poke for the country lanes.
Thank you for sharing all the new information. And thank you for a high quality video. Keep safe, friend.
Hahahaha the opening scene with the dude from Yamaha and your voice 😂😂
Can't wait for my new MT09 so excited!!
Same here! Reserved a blue one a week ago. I was told by the dealer to expect arrival in late April/early May here in the US. Curious to know your timeline.
Great video m8,
Still in love with my 2022 Tracer 9gt , this cp3 engine i think is one of the greatest engines that Yamaha done and will be for a long time .
See you in the next one 😎
So… if you only need to subscribe to one channel and keep yourself updated about the motorcycle world.. that’s what you need! Thanks for your hard work and great content!
Stoked for my R7 to arrive next month!
Tracer 7 GT when the fit it with qiuckship/blipper - when I bought new last year, i did't choose it because it was'nt a option.
or T7 Explorer
Is the xsr900 color changing, or they keeping the blue?
The GP is just absolutely gorgeous. Definitely the best Yamaha out there. Would love to test ride one.
Its hideous. Just go get an xsr900 and throw some plastic on it. Be the same thing.
@@jvillain9946 There are other body kits for the XSR 900 but I think this factory fit one looks great. As someone who grew up surrounded by FZ600’s in Tokyo, I totally dig the retro 80’s look. It was awesome then and it’s awesome now.
@@jvillain9946you know nothing
@@jimzenglish1 Ha ha. You’re a funny guy
I personally don't like the looks. The bubble front fairing, and the tail section with that large yellow block of color just looks goofy. MT09 SP any day over that XSR900 GP. However, the GP may look better in a blacked out edition.
Brilliant review, thanks!

I ordered the GP and cant wait to get it in April 🥰
I think Yamaha makes a mistake of not introducing XSR300 in Asia as hinted many years ago. Now RE, HD and Triumph have 400 retro std and scramblers (Honda has CL300 in Southeast Asia too).
Huge mistakes, I as a Vietnamese have been waiting for XSR300 and XSR700 for a long time now, but all Yamaha VN has are XSR155 (which is too weak) and XSR900 (which is too strong), nothing in the middle😅
Yamaha needs to get a 450. Ninja is moving up from 400 to 451. Aprilia is coming with RS457. CF Moto has a 450. Suzuki and Honda should follow suit. Honda's CBR500R is 50 pounds too heavy and engine doesn't rev out much. Their CBR300R is just too weak (286cc), it's the old 300 class that's being orphaned lately. Yamaha's R3 is 321cc and too heavy, and also no match for the 400-450 racing class. The BMW G310R is also weak and part of the old 300 class.
KTM currently competes in the Junior Cup racing with RC390 but it'll be left behind in this step to 450.
Agree, Yamaha has a huge gap between its 300 and 700 twin. I see a 562cc twin in the Tmax maxi-scooter and its 70mm bore same diameter as in the MT03/R3 so guess they actually CAN make an XSR500/MT03 if they wish. @@exothermal.sprocket
Agreed, Yamaha has a major gap between its 300 and 700 twin. Although an 562cc twin already exists in the TMAX scooter. A 450-500cc single to compete with the India-made bikes would be a major development...
Same as you, 100% with bells on.
I've ridden the Tracer9 on a Demo Day event. Although the course was a bit limited,, it was still a brilliant ride. I love a triple engine.
That would be my ❤️🔥#1 choice of all featured.
That said,, its obvious that Yamaha has discontinued The BIG machines from its EU/UK lineup.
Likely due to the Emissions requirements.
Is the Super Tenere
Done or just not covered 🤔 🤌?
Thanks for your consideration and reply Bob.
Cheers 🍻 , G.
Is the Super Ténéré not sold in Europe ?
Will there ever be an MT 155cc?? And why isn't the MT 125cc available on the Australian website/market? Yamaha only offers the MT 03 on the website here!
In the Touring segment, I was surprised that you did NOT include the mighty FJR1300. Probably because Yamaha is really pushing the Tracer9 GT+. I'm not interested in adaptive cruise (I have it in my 2012 Toyota). Anyway, a good overview of the new Yamahas.
I hate the dual screens on the tracer 9 & tracer 9 GT. Was hoping they would put the GT+ screen on the 2024 models.
It was single screen on demo in Austin Texas last weekend unless I missed something. I actually specifically looked to see if that was changed since I wasn't interested in riding it. GT+ model.
Nice one Bob. Thank you. For me it has to be the XSR-900 GP. As I started my racing career back when cigarette advertising was still allowed. Plus, the no pillion rear section just enhances the overall look in my opinion.
10:08 wohh that interfering is500 🤩
Yamaha has two bikes for me . The RD-400 and the V-STAR , mine was the 1100 , I could go for the 250 . All the bikes today look alike , can openers .
Waiting for the Tenere 900 CP3 19/17 inch spoked wheels 😊
Any idea why only the Yamaha MT-07 has telescopic front fork. Even the cheapest, smallest one like MT125 has Up Side Down (USD) fork?
Cost maybe? Performance demands for USD forks just aren't there in the MT model. The R7 on the other hand sees a lot of braking forces on the top yoke for racing competition on track, and benefits from the inverted larger tube being on top.
Amazing bunch of goodies 😅
I really don't care for the mustard and catchup coloring. I do like the looks and idea of the XSR 700. The parallel twin suits a bike like this.
I'm 5'5 which one will suit me
Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki need to get into the 450cc twin game. The Junior Cup racing needs more variety beyond the Ninja400 and a stray RC390. With CF Moto offering a 450, and Aprilia with a 457 coming, I hope Japan gets busy.
I just went to Yamaha demo last weekend in Austin Texas. The biggest change to me compared to previous years was hike in price and rather boring colors. I was actually so bored, I decided to test ride MT-03 and TW200. I tried pretty much everything else previous years other than FJR, Nikken and big cruiser. Currently own Super Tenere and xt250. A lot of young people showed up on Saturday so, they only allowed two rides. R7 and Tracer 9 were popular. Interestingly, SP models were missing riders but, guys running show were still limiting to try two bikes. Friday demo had no limit from what I heard. Seems like Yamaha is focused on profit margin in America and not even bringing some cheaper models like Tracer 7.
Round design headlight with new Design Mt09, will be the best combination
Is the XSR coming to the states because it's going to be my next bike if it does.
As of now it is only in Europe. Lets all cross our fingers and hope they share that beauty with us!
Noone has ridden MT-09 and MT-09 SP, what's the hold up? The season is almost underway and noone got to test it. How do they expect folks to order one if aside from motorcycle shows, nobody has seen it? Ridiculous.
It's a shame that XSR900 GP hasn't still arrived in New Zealand. 😭 I so want it.
Hey, a Cardo commercial!
I have owned several Yamahas and always loved them, but the T7 as good as it is should be a 750 or 800 by now and/or we need a Tenere 9 with the triple, just saying...
3:57
I tend to watch the road most of the time.
Am I doing something wrong?
Agree, GP 🔥
Mt09 SP last year come with ohlins suspension
2024 = KYB with gold cover fork
Downgrade/Cutcost perhaps? Atleast give some better like marzochi fork
Both years have KYB up front and Ohlins in the back. No change to suspension. Anyway both have different levels quality. Top shelf kybs are better than bottom shelf ohlins. So brand alone means nothing
Marzochi isnt so better than KYB, i would add them on the same level, KYB even more quality made when you compare them while doing service.
I swear some motorcyclists on social media are the worst brand whores imaginable.
Mid tier Nissin brake caliper: Hot Garbage.
Mid tier Brembo Brake Caliper:
Pretty much Motogp spec.
@@MachoMadness69420 not even close to MotoGP brakes. Stylemas are like the bargain bin brembos. They're good but no where near MotoGP or wsbk brakes. Look up brembos gp4rr or even rx mono blocks and you're see the difference
@@jvillain9946
I was being sarcastic while trying to make the point that there are so many spec sheet warriors on the internet, who believes that anything that says Brembo (or other “high end” brands) is the best shit ever and pretty much everything else is trash.
You can put the cheapest Brembo radial calipers on a bike and some people will instantly point out that it has Brembo brakes as a high point even if they are fairly mediocre and in reality probably no better than a set of Nissin or Tokico.
XSR are soo good looking
Any rumors of a 2025 XSR900?
Yamaha should bring the Star Venture to Europe...sure not a big seller, but it looks better that most of the big tourers out there
Dropped from USA markets. No Star bikes except the Bolt R-Spec and the old V-Star 250.
The XSR 900GP has to be my top pick from Yamaha's 2024 model range, where do I sign 😅
my favorite bike mt 9, 👌
I know this is a road bike channel but us dirt bike guys NEED a yz300 with e start!!!!!
Would love to see Yamaha release an R9 along with a CP3 powered Ténéré .
Evenly firing triples don't do well in dirt. Triumph changed up the crank configuration on their Tigers for that reason.
No scooter updates?
Sooo.. No price for the Mt09 sp?
Almost 2 grand over the base, he said
@@Bugside thanks. So that brings it close to a base mt10 so then some may have to chalk up between a sp 09 or base 10
just sold my 2023 MT09SP - just to dang fast for the road and trying to avoid speed cameras....
For me is XSR 900 GP or MT-09
Kinda wish Yamaha would do more cruisers
Get a vmax with instead
I just bought a 2018 Star Venture Transcontinental.
SWEET!
When r9……..come on already!
Still waiting on a Tenere 900 and R9... Come on Yamaha , what are you doing !
Prepping the road to the R9 I see…
Still patiently waiting for the R9...
I respect everyone's wish for an r9... But there are so many sport bikes imo...
Need a 500 twin, with a SR500 tribute version.
Are they reproducing it ?
@@densepada2848 aha, you are talking about a subculture of a subculture of a subculture.
Now the question is, Tracer 9 GT+ or the Tiger 900 GT Pro?
They are really really close to each other 🤩🥳
I would sell my soul for a XSR900 GP - with the race kit, of course! 😁
the bank will take it,no problem
I love the look of the XSR900GP but I suspect my 64 year old body would hate it. When you do test it please bear in mind that us older riders need to know about comfort too.
9000 aye
PLS GIVE R9 YAMAHA
Get R1. What's difference?

I don’t understand how anyone can think Yamaha is ever going to launch an R9. The GP is the final nail in the coffin for that idea. If it’s a triple it wouldn’t be a real R9 and why would Yamaha risk losing R1 sales by making a 900cc inline 4? I just can’t see the logic.
I Miss XSR ... OLD MODELS Body and designs. 🤷🏻♂️
☹️☹️😫😮💨
The GP is just killing me. Why can’t we have it in Canada! I want one bad.
As an ex-TZ250 owner, my pick is the XSR900GP also :)
Where’s the Stryker and Raider, two best cruisers ever built
Shame that GP isn’t coming to America.
They went ahead and used the Wayne Rainy livery, but aren’t sending it to his country.😂
Lol, those first few seconds were like watching an old overdubbed Japanese movie. 😂
Tenere 900 with 21/18 wheels, that's all yamaha need to make
xSR900 GP for me
Yess yamaha give the r9 asap 👏
shame there are 3 decent looking bikes out of 15. And give r9 yamaha already, come on.
Seriously, just give the MT-07 inverted forks already so I can buy it.
I sat on MT07 and couldn't flat foot it and I am 1.79m . I think will get SV650 instead
Why do you need to flat foot it? I'm only 1.68m but can easily ride all but the tallest bikes. You only need to put 1 foot down at a stop. I do, however, recommend the SV650. It's a great bike.
thanks. I had 20y break from bikes and trying to get back in . Last bike I had I could flat foot it, the MT07 I was on my toes. However, as you said, it's probably not essential.

I want Yamaha to make an R9 so bad!
my BNIB GT+ is about to arrive to keep my Tenere World Raid company.
Yamaha please upgrade the CP3 in 1100 or 1200cc👍
I think Yamaha are missing out by not producing a T9.
That XSR900 GP is dreamy, especially with the racer kit! 🤤
Well pls give us a CP4 Tracer and a CP4 XSR
There are compact cars with 2,000cc size that do better fuel economy than the MT/R1 engine as a travel bike.
RNIIIIIINE R9 !!!!! PLEASE YAMAHA JESUS
That GP sure is pretty.
Yamaha is missing a up to date Dualsport. Build a WR300!
WR350R in the same longevity road-legal guise as the older 250.

Oh, the prices....
Storm the Federal Reserve. Tell them to quit printing money and laundering the stuff all over the planet. That's what's doing it.
still waiting on a t9
tenere😏
My pick XSR900 GP edition beauty❤❤❤
Gp all day long
Yamaha throwing blingy brake components at their bikes won’t matter much if they don’t sort out their overzealous ABS.
They should do what they did to the r6 to the R1. Make the R1 track only, with the R9 more street oriented sportbike with ergos similar to the R7 using the Mt-09 engine.
R1 is fine exactly where it is tyvm
@@P.M_M Theres no point to the R1 existing for the road if they made an R9. It would be better in literally every way for the average rider. The only ones that would need the power of the R1 are the actual racers. They'd make significantly more money producing and selling the R9 instead of the R1
Pffft. Weakling 1L engines.
Get a used Vmax. 1,679cc is where it's at.
@@ThaBootyBandit May aswell scrap the ZX, s1k, cbr, rsv4, panigale & gsx'r while you're at it.... and every other bikes above 600cc if you are talking about usable power for the street 🙄 The new R9 is a R6 in a different skin and retuned for torque
@P.M_M Honesly of the smaller bikes had the tech the literbikes have then the majority of riders would buy the smaller bikes. Like if the v2 had the same shit as the v4, most people would buy that instead. Or if Bmw actually made a fucking middleweight with s1k tech, people would lose their minds. Yamaha would we wasting money producing both an r9 and a r1 because anyone with more than two braincells is going to pick the R9 instead.
R7 is a lovely looking sport bike but i cant stand that riding position. Wish Yamaha could make a sporty upright postion bike. Not a fan of their naked and retro bikes. Please Yamaha not every one rides on the track. Give us a sporty streetbike with fairings. How long do we have to wait. Look at honda and triumph etc the got it
In order for me to believe the Tenere 700 is a real motorcycle, I'll first have to see one at a dealership. Until then, I'll consider it a hoax.
Where the hell is the XT 1200? Not good enough Yamaha.
You shoulda shown the 2024 xsr900 in the red/white/gold!
Active radar - no thanks !!!
YAMAHA R9! That's it, I don't care what other BS they say.
i feel like Motorcycles from Asia better than european,Big 4 Kawasaki,Yah,Honda,Suzuki enough to shut down european brands
As a Yamaha fan in the USA, I am bummed the XSR900GP is not coming to America. At least, not yet.
Love the GP version
