      @@hoosierdaddy2308I suspect it’s because the front sight version is narrower, allowing you to see the edges of the target. The rear sight version is wider so you have to guess where the center of the target is more often.

    I've read that if you're out in the rain and moisture gets under that sight it will cause rust on the slide under the sight. You won't know about it until you decide to remove it.

    • @dustynbeasley6261
      @dustynbeasley6261 Месяц назад +1

      That is any sight with a friction fit into a dovetail since the fit can rub the coatings off of the slide. The way to prevent this is to keep your gun oiled regularly and just add a tiny tiny tiny amount before you go out in the rain and water won't be able to get in there since oil will repel it. Better option is to file your sight to fit the dovetail and then coat it with some finish and install it. If the sight is aluminum you can just file it to fit the dovetail and then you don't have to refinish it since aluminum won't rust. Pretty much all your options. Guns are steel. Steel rusts. Doesn't matter what sight you have. All sights require finessing to get the perfect fit because of tolerance issues. It's gunsmithing

    For the guys that have commented and obviously not tried it, this soft functions exactly like a red dot sight that you can’t see thru. My green model is significantly brighter day and night than my dual illuminated RMR.
    Some people can’t get past not being able to see thru the sight-I get that, what you are supposed to be doing is using the dot and ring for the fast stuff and using the top of the sight housing just like you would use the irons on a normal gun after centering the dot in the window.
    I’m my practical side by side comparison of a stock G17 and one with the FT, the FT was faster and no less accurate. It is SIGNIFICANTLY better in low light.
    There is a fly in the ointment though if you wear transitions or bifocals-the reticle gets blurry unless you roll your head back to get on the nearsighted part of the lenses. There is now a front sight version of this FT Bullseye that just came out and I’d recommend trying that one fits of you wear bifocals or transitions because the distance difference to your eye matters.
    These sights are a godsend for people that have astigmatism and can’t use a red dot, there is no starburst with these. None.

    • @bodyno3158
      @bodyno3158 2 года назад

      It's a colimator sight, parallel rays creating an virtual image of the dot at ∞ distance, so it's basically the same as a red dot.

    • @MarsXInvictus
      @MarsXInvictus 2 года назад

      Because it uses fiber optics and tritium to light itself, it’s always and forever on. You can’t turn it off. At that it’s ideal to use in both day and night conditions. If you aimed at something bright during night time, the fiber optics catch the light and Illuminate your sights more to compensate. It’s pretty genius in my opinion. Also having a “perfect” front post would be amazing since this one is literally projected holographically which makes it practically a perfect front post.

    I think it has potential to be super useful in the sense of dual purpose. Say the sides of the sight were a bit taller (like suppressor height sights,) and a matching front sight. At the very least, that could be a fail safe.

    Wish I would have found it when it first came out. I have found it is really easy to use and has really helped my groups, I have shot handguns my entire life and really don't practice that much anymore and the first time I used it I found it to be really easy to acquire my target and control. The only problem I have is the tritium is barely bright enough for my tired eyes at night.

    The first 30 seconds were pretty painful to watch. I get that there was not bullet in the chamber but a loaded magazine with your finger on the ready position is not safe. I get that nothing bad happened but you are basically swinging around a loaded gun. Take the loaded mag out and show that the gun is empty like every big gun RUclipsr. Live rounds should never be in a gun that is being swung around, safety first.
