This is from the opera Turandot. A princess doesn’t like men. She tells her many suitors they can marry her if they can guess her name by dawn. If not, they will be executed. All to apply before have died. Now, the latest one sings this aria in which he expresses his love and vows to guess her name and win her heart and her hand in marriage. The last soaring notes are “I will win! I will win!”.
They have to overcome difficult trials or she will execute them. One prince succeed but she wasn't Happy. So he tells her, if you find my name before sunrise you can kill me. So he sings about he will win her after sunrise
Guessing her name was not the riddle. There were three that they needed to answer:
1. What is born each night and
Dies each dawn
2. What flares like a flame but is not a flame
3. The ice that gives gives you fire, what can it be.
@@darlenefragale6550 Oops!
I’d have guessed Sharon.
Thankfully good people share what I believe the reactors should work and do for followers. Do some research. 🥹
Even if opera music isn't your thing, how can you not be blown away by that❤
I don't believe that you have to understand the language to appreciate something so beautiful!
Exactly! I pretty much had opera shoved down my throat. ( Being told to be quiet when Dad was listening to his music or the Red Sox). But THIS? How can you not be moved by it?!!!
RIP Luciano. He performed this at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Torino, Italy Winter Olympics. He passed away in 2007.
Let’s also give composer Puccini a shout out for writing such gorgeous Melodie’s! This is from my favorite opera- Turandot- by him- and I got to dance in the Metropolitan Opera of NY ‘s touring production of this. ❤
Back in 1990 Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, and José Carreras teamed up (with conductor Zubin Mehta) as 'The Three Tenors' and wowed the world together for the next 13 years touring. It was thrilling to watch the PBS special of their concert.✨
From a very old white dude, I love the reactions of younger black men and women to the music that so many of us grew up with. Keep it going.
My first thought at seeing this artist/performance was.... Does JM know anything about this world renowned vocalist?. You answered that question without doubt you perfectly understood what you were listening too. He holds a place in history as one of the all time greatest Tenors, even without knowing his words his voice is captivating. Nice Choice again.
Never get enough of Pavarotti's singing of Nessun Dorma (None shall sleep)
Thank you for your lovely reaction, Pavarotti was arguably the finest tenor of all time and with such an iconic aria by Puccini, it was a magical combination.
Congratulations... This is the 1st Opera song I have ever "Liked" on YT.
I'm not an opera fan at all.. but this song here always gets me.. My Mom and sister both tried to get me to love opera.. not happening... I'm rock, hair band, country girl .. but this song is special.. I love it. Gotta give this man some props.. no matter what
Try also carusso from pavarotti, nelle tue mani from Bocelli
1st.lol. when I was younger I would never listen to this but now that I am hopefully more wiser, this stuff is angelic.
*It's more wise (wiser = more wise)...lol
This performance gives me goosebumps!! So emotional ..
Check out Pavarotti & Brian May sing TOO MUCH WILL KILL YOU live in Italy. 🇮🇹 Stunning!!
I love your personality. Thank you for your restraint and good taste in listening to the aria all the way through without stopping for your comment.
You're definitely feel something ❤
Please keep your journey down in opera
You demonstrated perfectly the act of being blown away by a performance, when you physically are pushed back into your seat and yoùr eyes widen in total wonder. Doesnt happen very often.
You should check out the german tenor "Fritz Wunderlich". He might be one of the best tenors in history! Pavarotti, and Freddie Mercury as well, were huge fans of his amazing, unique, extrem talented epic voice! Check out "Fritz Wunderlich: Granada (Lara, 1932)" ... His voice is so clean and soft, but extremly powerfull! ♥
Imagine..Pavarotti was alrway 63 when he performed this concert...and still the powerful tendition!
Jeff Beck Nessun Dorma instrumental of this was absolutely incredible but with that said nothing can best Pavarotti singing it.
He received 20 minutes of standing ovation for this performance.
What an amazing singer. stunning.
You HAVE to react to Dimash Kudaibergen singing "Ogni Pietra" from the Arnau Concert on his own channel. This guy has an 6 octave range and he is trained since the age of 5 years old. Never heard a voice like this - it's beyond beautiful. I'm pretty sure you will love it. All the best from Germany 🇩🇪 Petra
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o Principessa
Nella tua fredda stanza
Guardi le stelle che tremano
D'amore e di speranza!
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me
Il nome mio nessun saprà!
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
Quando la luce splenderà!
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà
Il silenzio che ti fa mia!
(ll nome suo nessun saprà
E noi dovrem, ahimè! Morir! Morir!) coro
Dilegua, o notte! Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle! All'alba vincerò!
Vincerò! Vincerò!
The translation
Let no one sleep,
Let no one sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
In your cold room,
Watch the stars,
That tremble with love
And with hope.
But my mistery is hidden within me,
My name no one shall know,
No... no...
On your mouth, I will tell it,
When the light will shine.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die, die.) chorus
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win!
I will win!
Good to see a reaction that was allowed to take its course and paused as others do. Great reaction.
He had perfect pitch. ❤
Luciano getting deep into his feels on this one. Damn!
Italia 90,this takes me right back with all the shenanigans in Italy with England fans.
The whole opera will be shown at movie theaters across the country this wednesday

His last words here were "I will win". He had been pursuing marriage to the princess. Very emotional piece.
Legend, now more words are needed, legend! ❤❤❤
Bravo!!!
Thanks for your videos..thanks Italy👋
Bellissimo.
Love your reaction and love that you did not talk until it was over. I will subscribe.
Though you don't need the lyrics to feel the passion in the song the lyrics are:
Nobody shall sleep!...
Nobody shall sleep!
Even you, o Princess
In your cold room
Watch the stars
That tremble with love and with hope
But my secret is hidden within me
My name no one shall know...
No!...No!...
On your mouth I will tell
It when the light shines
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
Excellent.
Good music and phenomenal vocalists transcend for every human on earth!
♥💗💗♥
Thank you for a lovely review. No interrupting you enjoyed it and then reviewed at the end. Thank you again.
Hope you react to Aretha when she filled in for this great artist at the Grammys.
Symply number one
Thank you for your reaction and for giving this genre of music, opera, a chance here on the platform 👍
Have you ever heard of a young singer DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN? I am quite sure that you would like him very much. He is absolutely incredible. There is no genre you can categorize him into. Opera, pop, rap, blues, rock, jazz, etc., he's perfect everywhere. He comes from Kazakhstan and is 29 years old. His vocal range is 7!!! Octaves, he is a multi-instrumentalist and sings in 14 languages. An absolute genius and a human soul too! If you're curious, I suggest two songs. (I'm sure if you've heard them, it won't stop at these two songs 😊): SOS
OLYMPICO (Igor Krutoy - Arnau Concert)
By the way, he also sings from Queen :
THE SHOW MUST GO ON
Greetings from Germany 🙋♀️
I'm so glad you chose this performance of this aria. Most people react to the LA performance of the Three Tenors world tour. This performance from Paris during the same tour is arguably the better performance between the two. The maestro seems to have been in better voice that night in Paris. Thank you!
😢 Everytime
Wonderful reaction to Povarotti's Nessun Dorma. What a beautiful song it is! I hope you will eventually get around to Dimash. A great place to start with him would be his 2017 version of "SOS". (Subscribed and thumbs up.)
❤
Bryan Adams sang O Sole Mio with Pavarotti, and his raspy balladeer voice is unexpectedly perfect for it.
Now check out Aretha doing this piece at the Grammys because he called off sick at the last minute in 1998. You'll be stunned.
Might also like Song to the Moon from Rusalka by Dvořák. Renee Fleming did a great version, which is also available on RUclips.
Please look up Turandot (the opera this song came from) and you will understand so much.
The voice of God
GOAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should definitely check out Andre Rieu- O’fortuna maybe wrong spelling but you’ll know if from various movies. It’s amazing
I cry everytim
You are witnessing the GREATEST TENOR TO EVER GRACE A STAGE, and I’ll fight anyone who says differently 😂 You don’t even really need to know what he’s singing to feel what he’s singing. But in case you wanna know here’s the English translation:
Nobody shall sleep!...
Nobody shall sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
in your cold room,
watch the stars,
that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one shall know...
No!...No!...
On your mouth, I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
If you liked this than this well blow your doors off. The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Danish symphony Orchestra. Famous Music from an old Clint Eastwood movie
Hey hello. About 1-2 months ago I started watching reaction videos of artists I like. I've often ended up on your channel. Well, I noticed that hardly anyone reacts to one of the greatest music legends of all time. Isn't Adriano Celentano known in the USA? You have a lot of Italian immigrants! I'm pretty sure that every Italian in the world knows Ardiano Celentao's song: "Il Ragazzo della via gluck" by heart, like about 70-80% of all southern and central Europeans. He was not only an outstanding musician and songwriter, but also a celebrated film star. It's probably no exaggeration to say that Adriano Celentano has the same status in Italy as Elvis in the USA. Just like Elvis, there are Adriano Celentano doubles in Italy. I find it just as strange that there is no reaction to L'italiano by Toto Cutugno, who wrote something like the unofficial national anthem of Italy with this song. The two have millions of views on RUclips but no reaction! Why? Best wishes from Switzerland
Don McLean - "American Pie"
You can expect impassioned performances when people are expressing their culture...check out Irish tenor Finbar Wright's live performance of "Danny Boy" on RUclips...
An English translation is available. Obviously this is sung in isolation to the operatic stage production of Turandot. For me this adaption is more enjoyable than the original.
Goat male voice
Ma il mio mistero e' chiuso in me, il nome mio nessun sappra'.....
‘Loosey-arno Pavaroddi’!!
Let’s try:
‘Loo-chee-ah-noh Pavarotti’ (‘tt’ not ‘dd’).
The man is Italian; you can’t superimpose American-English on the language.
Wouldn’t have harmed to check out the guy’s name given he was one of the greatest operatic tenors ever.
I think you can Google the lyrics to "Nessun Dorma" in English. Love your reaction. Also Luciano Pavarotti and James Brown duetted on the song "It's a man's man's man's world." I know you are going to enjoy reacting to it. GOD bless you and your family in JESUS mighty name amen ❤️❤️❤️
About 16 second in the end.....
You really have to react to Angelina Mango, winner of Italy's singing competition Sanremo last week, and hence forthcoming challenger at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. At Sanremo she sang for her father "la rondine" (ruclips.net/video/6xwVRZDyvh8/видео.html): her father is author of the song, and died when she was 13. She made the whole nation cry. 5M views in few days. Thanks.
His name was not lusiano but luciano and for you would be much closer if you read this. Luchano
His younger version : ruclips.net/video/Q_hLh4qCqpg/видео.html
great version. good choice. you are american, but it's not your fault.
