In my opinion Chris wins every round. He demonstrated an expert understanding of the color wheel, patterns and material textures. Austin picked great monochromatic and neutral color schemes. Attractive classic style. Ultimately the more daring patterns and attention getting color schemes Chris went with were really stylish.

Great video, big fan of this format where the two duel it out.
Round 1 goes to Chris Modoo for the elegant Houdstooth tie
Round 2 goes to Chris again for his use of a softer slightly warmer shirt and tie combination that felt a bit more seasonal then Austins cool toned look.
Round 3 goes to Chris again for his use of the warmer toned red shantung tie.
In my eyes, Chris made slightly better outfits because he added warmth to them. This is the type of thing that draws people in, and is ideally a better approach to wearing ties in leisure. Austins combinations were usually a bit cooler, and whilst this does work, it felt like his outfits leaned further towards the 9-5 workers approach to smart casual dressing, and although these outfits could be worn in the evenings and for leisure they aren't quite as transferable to a day of smart leisure.
Since my judging criteria was based on smart leisure dressing, Chris won my votes in every round.
So Chris wins if the approach is smart leisure dressing, but Austin wins if the approach is for smart casual dressing.

Yes, sometimes tricky to get four patterns in harmony, but Chris certainly pulled it off with his look!

I like this duel of the Gentlemen. Please do that more often. It is a great format.
Round 1 winner is Austin. I personally do not match too many different pattern and Austin's outfit appealed to me because of this. The outfit from Chris looks like something I would try just to be outside of my comfort zone.
Round 2 winner is Austin. I do like the dark blue tie with the light blue shirt. It seems more stylish to me.
Round 3 winner is Chris. The combination of the shirt color and the red tie looks awesome. I would wear that immediately.

I very much liked this video. The best part for me was round 3, for I have just ordered that same pattern sport coat last week. I thought it would add some color to my plain coats. You gave me some interesting ideas the use. I now, even more, look forward to receiving my new sport coat. Thank you.

This is what i was thinking from the one of the last videos. A "live look-book" and three is the perfect number of rounds.
My scoring on this: Round 1- I give the point to Chris for the striped shirt and houndstooth tie. It's a great, adventurous look. The brown tie from Austin a strong contender. Round 2: I give the point to Austin. I think the blue shirt swayed my opinion on this. Had I not watched the entire round, I could have easily stopped on Chris's choice with the shantung tie. Round 3: Total draw. The jacket looks great with the blue shirt. I think I prefer the jacket without a tie. I wasn't able to award a point because the shantung ties were so close, thus, the draw. Overall: Chris 1, Austin 1 + draw. Final note. I'd like to see Chris's tie choices with the sharkskin jacket with the blue shirt.
    Please continue making these videos.

First look - houndstooth tie is the best out of the 6
Second look - not a fan of white shirt with the jacket colour. Light blue is much better. 'Shanton' tie looks great, otherwise the navy.
Last look - both the red and the blue stripe tie looked great!

Quite an enjoyable segment! Definitely great takeaways with these two expert stylists demonstrating how colors and patterns can be used to create different looks and mood! My takeaway; I must try bolder ties (a la the blue) to pop my lighter (linen) suit and get more shantung ties. These are delicious and so well complement the “anchor” jacket(s). I believe I recognize some of the pocket square colors and would enjoy seeing exactly which of the Rampley selections these actually are. Very nice, gents!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes we absolutely love Shantung ties, they just offer something a bit different, have a beautiful texture and 3 dimensional look to them. We have actually tagged the products in the video but it seems RUclips doesn't always show the shopping module. However, if you have a specific product you'd like to double check please let us know!

@RampleyandCo, I love the looks with contrasting jacket and pants and with shantung ties. Traditionally that was too casual for business (see John T. Molloy's New Dress for Success). However, in 2024, with the world far more casual anyway, does this now fit into appropriate business wear, say, for a meeting with the President of my company, me being a low level manager? I do have a navy suit and your traditional business ties in navy or burgundy silk and I can pull off the exact look that Molloy recommended way back in 1975, but it isn't my most comfortable look. I want to be respectful to the President of our company, but I'm considering going the route of what you have shown here, which feels more modern to me. I would really appreciate your advice Chris or Austin. Basically, are these business outfits you are putting together, or are they for outside of those big meetings?

I think that without mentioning the color of the trousers, is not really dealing with the topic you mention. Anyone can match a tie to a jacket & shirt. Trouser color complicates matters. You omit this !

Chris (Gentleman on the right) did the job perfect. He knows how to present a gentleman! Thumb up for Chris!!!
Austin (on the left) last choice on the last outfit was the only acceptable one. All other recommendations made the look quite boring, despondent and unimpressive. Please learn from Chris, except you dress Secret agents who like to blend in with the crowd.
