We saw this before with Anita Sarkeesian: Buffy reboot was rumoured, and she flipped her shit saying it shouldn't be touched. It's all about breaking everyone else's stuff for a "good" cause, but when it comes to their stuff, you better not touch.
Here's an idea: make new stuff, or if you want to use old IPs, set things in the same world and respect the old: whether it be parallel stories, sequels, or prequels.
Better yet, spin-offs. Spin-off should be at least the possibly the safest route for any franchise.
Making new IPs requires creativity and talent. That's why it is not happening. You cannot create something compelling without offending at least someone, and that is taboo right now. That is why you see extracultural stuff become popular, such as manga.

That's a prevalent issue all over the world and not exclusive to entertainment. When I and many others protested against web cenorship (EU art. 13) three years ago people were like "so what I don't use 4chan, I just want to post on facebook". Same people then went crazy when rl stuff was censored.
Our green party wanted to ban motorcycles because they are not "a environmentaly friendly way of transport". When local lawmakers wanted to ban people from walking into wildlife preserves, the same greenies lost their shit because they're "allowed to follow their hobby of going hiking"

If you want to do a reboot, do something that needs a new fresh coat of paint or a fresh new idea from the Same universe or another season of a well loved show rather than an easy corporate leftist cash grab that could piss an entire twitter feed

Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H., Kim Possible, Totally Spies, and Powerpuff Girls were some of my favorite shows growing up.

At the present, I have some fondness for Nancy Drew given that it has a fairly interesting story and the characters feel more organic than what we typically see. Yeah it has pretty much nothing to do with the original books, but so far I think that has helped give it it’s own identity. We’ll see how the second season goes.

The reasons people liked the animated Winx Club had a lot to do with the fact that it was aesthetically girly, dealt with typical "girl show" stuff (like love, friendship, fashion, royalty, etc.), & was about fairies BUT also had big battles, lore, grand sweeping story arcs, likable/useful male characters, threatening villains, & lots of action. On top of that Winx Club wasn't afraid to have some dark imagery, dark/adult themes, & have real world type problems. It dealt with parents being divorced, adoptive families, single parents, having a parent die, bullying, arranged marriages, & ACTUAL character death! Add to that the fact the cast was diverse not just racially but also in personality, skills, hobbies, backgrounds, etc. & you have a recipe for a great show that holds up even years or decades later.
Beth Elderkin was one of the jornos working for io9 who called Vic guilty, when people found out she was friends with Marz girl they questioned her bias and she doubled down.
Ty Beard also tweeted "Welcome to the party" at her for her tweets calling Vic guilty.

I would have loved to see a live action winx club show. But it has to have a few things.
1) They must have all the characters & the actors have to look as close to the cartoon as Possible.
2) Would need to have wings/transformation.

Everything kid show wise must, for some strange reason, eventually become adult versions that are said to be for kids and completely digress from the original content and are not actually for kids.
I couldn't agree more when you guys talked about the "I can break your toys but you can't break my toys" mentality of these hypocritical journalists. I loved Winx Club as a child and still do as a young adult because the show was bright, colourful and didn't take itself too seriously. Seeing it getting the Riverdale treatment is just sad.

Netflix is also responsible for allowing Saban Brand's 4Kids plague of Pretty Cure known as Glitter Force to be available. Nobody demanded for alterations of existing properties, let alone making cartoons into live-action nor the other way around.
Now it's up to Crunchyroll to Fix PreCure's Image by starting with Healin' Good, than later adds Kirakira(The Season with a Bakery Gimmick), & now Tropical Rouge is getting a Simulcast Released.

Wasn't Toei forced Saban to dub and localized Pretty Cure if they were to get Digimon license renewed (just like 4Kids One Piece situation).
I remember watching the original dub of the first season on YTV when I was young. It was pretty americanized (canadianized?) but it wasn't too bad, at least they didn't cut any episodes if I remember right.

Coming from a family of JWs what SHOULD happen is when a person shows disinterest your address is supposed to be put on a “do not disturb” list. Granted they revisit the list every 6 months or so seeing as people move or may be open to conversation later but tbh showing them the “anti JW” pamphlet was the best thing. Some groups aren’t as diligent as they should when it comes to checking the “do not disturb” lists but I assure you not all of them are like that, most JWs don’t wanna waste time on talking to people that aren’t interested but I always tell my friends who feel similar to you guys “don’t be so nice...if you take the literature or have a conversation THEY WILL come back”.

Watched this with my daughter. She's 11 and loved Winx Club when she watched it on Netflix. When she saw the article you were reading she was asking "what's with the mean girls?". She has no interest in this show. Oh she also wanted to know if you could do the "Bat Boob" song again.

I wasn't really that into the Winx Club, I think maybe when it came out I was starting to leave my pre-teen years and its style wasn't really my style at that point, but i did watch it weekend mornings (i watched another show W.I.T.C.H. which probably would have meshed better with a darker reboot, but it was only around for like 2 seasons.) But this did make me think back to late 90s and early 2000s fashion. Lots of short shorts and skirts and crop tops.....
I don't know about any of you, but after hearing this news, I can't wait until they reboot the Nicktoons Mysticons series.

The funny thing is, this live action Winx club *IS* made for the original audience that are now in their 20s and supposedly _want_ sex and adult-ish content in their shows. The producers ARE going for the audience that made Riverdale and Game of Thrones such big hits by aging up one of their target audience's favorite kids shows.

But my own daughter, now with a daughter of her own, wouldn't mind (when her daughter gets a little older-she's more the Paw Patrol age right now) watching new Winx adventures, or even something like Winx, the Next Generation where the daughters of the Winx girls head off to fairy school. But she doesn't want to watch this, and there's no way she's going to share it with her daughter.

although speaking of the anime there have been rumors that the same guy who made the Netflix Castlevania anime is working on a propper DMC anime for Netflix using the original characters and story, so not a reboot, but since covid, there has been no news about it so it is not known if it is still happening

It'll remind me of much childhood happiness, and sit beautifully beside my Filmation style statue and Super 7 high end figure and Swiftwind. It's nostalgia heaven in my office. I'm so terribly sad (teehee) that the recent Netflix Ra didn't work out. Sad face. Boo hoo. And guys, anyone who blocked you over a cartoon, toys etc., was not you friend. To be fair here, when it's an adaptation to a different medium everyone expects fidelity to the source material. She-Ra was a reboot.

She Ra was originally supposed to be He-Man but as He-Man didn't do much in the show they continued series under title She-Ra. So yeah Netflix really like to change source material as much as possible

As a person raised as a Witness, simply say your firm in your faith/beliefs etc and that you'd rather they don't visit. They are genuinely good people and they take pride in practicing what they preach. By doing this your not giving that person any reason to visit and they will respect your decision. Hey, this was posted on my birthday. There is, unfortunately, often hypocrisy in how people treat things that other people hold dear, versus how they treat ( and want others to treat ) things which they hold dear. That said, aging content & characters up isn't NEARLY as serious an alteration as trying to gaslight an audience into forgetting a character is a twin!! I enjoyed some of the 2018 She-ra's first couple seasons, but not that Hordak-style gaslighting attempt to omit the fact that She-ra is He-Man's twin ( & I jump on the case of He-Man shows when they do it as well ).
Isn't the original creator of Winx involved in this live action reboot? He supposedly said in 2019 this was the definitive, dark, gritty version OG fans always wanted (no we don't). I've heard rumors for a while too that he's not a great dude and he supposedly told the OG fans to stop watching Winx anyways because it was a kids show and it's not for us but then makes Fate and expects us to like it. I just don't get it.
Kougyokuss Yes. This is true. This all is on Straffi. This was their supposed call for adult fans who where calling the series out as it goes down and continually goes for a younger demo. He and the company have really been nasty towards adults fans who even did major contributions to the fandom.
Fun fact about the J dogs that visited. They can't accept literature from other faiths so if you want to be trolly try to give them a pamphlet or ad from someone else.
the number one question I always have what’s the point of half assed low effort reboots spin-offs or sequels when the present fan base didn’t ask for it who is it for because I don’t think any traction is gain from making bad/unwanted adaptations.

Honestly, I think thats utterly hilarious. The WOKE crowd are constantly glaring at anyone who even thinks of cutting out black people, but when it comes to other minority races, they dont even get a mention.
Technically speaking, I'm not entirely against the idea of reboots as a concept. Its a good way of bringing in new fans and growing a fandom. However, you have to understand what made the original great and keep that core aspect, even if you make changes to other things. That said, I would prefer original works.
I remember people complaining on twitter that the actress for American Chavez is to light skinned.

Makes sense to me; He-Ra made most white-skinned characters look like minorities so they love it, live-action Winx gave most of the characters white skin so they hate it.
They've always loved race-swapping white characters but not the reverse.
First these fools came for my Comics,then my Sci-Fi & Movie loves like Star Wars,Ghostbusters, & Doctor Who,and now they're coming for the rest of my childhood like the fucking monsters they are😤😤 I pray that Anime and Manga can win out in the Culture Wars.
I don't know why they don't just do an animated continuation of Buffy adapting the comic seasons that continued the original show story. That way they could at least bring back the original cast to voice the characters and avoid needing to recast and reboot just to milk the franchise.

What is said, is this is what the series creator firmly believe this is what older fans wanted. What would get them back into the series that continues to progress downward. Much of this is purely on Rainbow.
