This show had the worst ending possible. Didn’t make any sense and left a lot of viewers with questions. In reality, it all traces back to bad screenwriting. The entirety of “The Idol” felt as if Sam Levinson was just showcasing his fetishes for an hour. Great review on the worst episode of this (THANKFULLY) short lived show.

The ending makes sense in context of the opening shot of the series. And the opening scene as well. The shot of her in the photo shoot showed us how easily she can manipulate her emotions. The opening scene gets mirrored at the concert. Like hefty well constructed bookends. Massive Eyes Wide Shut vibes. It’ll be a cult classic soon. And there’s talks of a season 2.

Where the fuck did it go? Certainly not on location wigs and wardrobe.

I think exploring Tedros snapping after realising Joss is in charge and becoming the kidnapping psycho we were told he is and Joss laughing at him as she reveals she was waiting for him to kidnap and hurt her to end up killing him and then use that publicity to have a lifetime of sympathy and clout. I dont think they took it far enough. They set up a lot that didnt payoff and there was too much debauchery for no reason.

Ok I want to clear things out to everybody that ,now that the series is over and the door is open to critics about Jennie as usual that Johnny Depp first movie was in Nightmare on Elm Street and he was killed by Freddie within 1 hour in the movie (before haters jump on me I'm not comparing the two Johnny Deep having an amazing career). so this is Jennie's very first appearance in a series/movie so what did you expect. If they give her too much screen time it would have shadowed Lily performance like it or not. That's the impact Jennie has and they know it. I'm happy for her. Did I wish to see her more? Of course but it is what it is. The series was a mess from the start and I think all actors or most of them were badly used thanks to Weeknd/Levinson duo.

the fact that they had to shorten and cut out alot of scenes this season because of everyone complaining about the show is actually sad that is why it gave lackluster ,noone really gave this show a chance before it premiered , it was actually a very twisted interesting love story and insight on how Hollywood celebrities are treated and seen . its about power play , manipulation, exploitation, the industry food chain it really was very symbolic however you relate jocelyn to either Selena Brittney whoever this show was bird view into what women like them go through in the industry. sam levinson is a pervert for sure but you cannot deny that mans talent in story telling .i believe this could have just been a movie instead of a series , i hope we get a season 2

Or is it us who don’t see it as a whole? We were shown that Joss was an unreliable narrator from the very opening shot. Then we become sorry for her and forget that fact. The opening scene and the scene during concert rehearsal mirror each other in camera composition, editing, tone, context. The plot is simple. It’s the form of a question. Can anyone be trusted in the music industry? And the answer is no. And we especially shouldn’t trust those we “idolize”.
