His sister forcing us into keeping him out of things didn't help either
I noticed that the starter he picked for the team is Incineroar. This is obviously a parallel of himself since it goes from a small, weepy and shy cat to a large, intimidating, hyper-competitive wrestler. But if you can remember back around the time they were still publishing lore for Sun and Moon, Gamefreak said that Incineroar's "heel" personality is all an act and that it really just wants people's love and adoration more than anything else. I don't know if that was the intention when they put Incineroar on his team but it's very interesting nonetheless.

also, it's literally the best support vgc mon, you see it everywhere because of intimidate, its bulk, parting shot, fake out, knock off and of course still hitting hard with flare blitz. It also has quite a solid defensive typing, resisting a lot of stuff and being immune to psychic

I actually enjoyed how hop was handled in swsh
But I do enjoy how hop and Kieran reflect each other in realistic ways, with hop having the healthy outcome while Kieran has the unhealthy outcome
@@adamtheriault6743this is it, Kieran’s nore hop’s story’s were handled “better,” than the other. They were two sides of the same coin in a way. hop realising he’s not fit to be a champion but finding his own goal and own way to he strong but kieran became obsessed with getting stronger and nothing wanted more than to beat us and get ogerpon as his own partner.

They delivered campaign wise but they left nothing for the post-game in the basegame, or the teal mask or the indigo disk

What makes the ogre line hit even harder is that ivy cludgel is one of the strongest attacks in the game (especially with hearthflame mask) making using Ogrepon not only a viable strategy, but possibly a ticket to nearly guaranteed victory. Truly insulting…

When i first heard of Hydrapple, i was like "What the heck is Hydrapple?!" I was in shock at it's design too. Luckily it didn't get a single chance to attack since I was able to freeze it solid via Ice Punch.
I one shotted it with Stat Boost and Super Effective, LOL

The guitars in S/V's OST were overall heavenly. The guitar solos in Kieran and the Team Star captains were insane, while the Spanish guitar in Geeta's had no business being too damn sexy for a Pokemon game.
1:37 this part happened right on the reveal of Hydrapple. Felt like Kieran was about to hit me with phase 2

The only battle in SV that I had to hold NOTHING back in order to snap him out of this delusion and bring back the "Wowzers" boy I missed! It was for his own good.... 😞

The Kieran champ battle actully came dwon to the wire for me, I had really bad sitama syndrome in sv after a got my team all to 100 and hyper trained, so I put together a shiny team + my pla starter that I transferred over, and I actully had a lot of fun with the battle and his ace looks so cool. So props to Keiran for making me enjoy battling agian.
One of the harder Battles I expereinced there, LOL
Kieran once again showing he's a better Champ than Geeta on the first turn setting up rain with Politoed so his Dragonite gets 100% accurate Hurricanes.
It even has Thunder if you use a Water type to take advantage of the Rain
That rain was actually his downfall for my playthrough, Archaludon had a field day with his team

I just realised something, Kieran is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Nemona when you think about it. Nemona didn't have any goals left after becoming champion rank and strong, while Kieran had one and only goal of meeting Ogerpon but because he wasn't strong enough he couldn't do it. Nemona wanted us to get strong and have an all out battle, while Kieran couldn't accept that we were stronger and pushed himself to be strong.

before it released i kept seeing comments saying kieran was possessed and im so glad they were wrong his character works way better this way
We've still got the Pecharunt event to go to see if those theories were right, but yeah I quite liked how everything Kieran does was of his own accord.
I was also expecting, that he's possessed due the logical Clues... But we were all wrong, LOL
@@Dialga22239 i was against it from the beginning because gen 9 really upped their writing game and possession would be horrible writing (also kierans my favorite character and i wanted to believe theyd handle him better). was great to rub it in peoples faces when it released

He actually came close to beating me when I was on my last Pokemon being Skeledirge. Of course Skeledirge had to pull a holding on to 1 HP so I wouldn't feel sad nonsense before finishing off Kieran's last Pokemon. Although I won I still think Kieran beat me in spirit. Well-played.
He was very very strong and almost slaughtered my LV 100 Team D:
Poor thing never got to make a move. My perfect iv pokemon blitzed him into oblivion. I'm surprised people had trouble with this. He was mad easy. Probably because I actually play competitively though.
It took 1 Charizard with move coverage and electric tera type and there's nothing he can do but die lmao.
@@thespacecowleague957 Well, not everyone opts to use a competitively viable team when doing the story mode. Not to mention my team was below level 90 when doing this
@dialga22239 he was pretty tough though I think I had an edge with a competitive ready team even though they were at the same level as Kieran’s team

I’ve never wanted to run from a trainer battle until fighting Kieran in Indigo Disk. Like with the team he had, I’m honestly surprised he didn’t have a 7th Pokémon with him.
Also I sent out Ogrepon during this battle, and after seeing the dialogue that came with it, I was beginning to think he was gonna say ‘screw the battle’ and start throwing hands.
Oh yeah, he was upset, when I also sent out my Ogerpon ;P

@@niceless_ When you fight him against terapagos. He’s the one commanding it in the 1st phase, so I’d consider it a Kieran battle theme.

The final match up in my battle ended up being his Hydrapple, Incineroar and Grimsnarl vs Meowscarada and Ogrepon on my side.
Once I sent Ogrepon out he of course freaked out.
Meowscarada took out Incineroar and then he brought out his ace Hyrdrapple.
But then his Grimsnarl and Hydrapple attacked my Meowscarada (I like to imagine she jumped in front of Ogrepon and saved her from being hit by the attack) and she was taken out leaving me with just Ogrepon to face his two remaining Pokémon. She first took down his Grimsnarl and then on the next turn I Tera’d and took out his Hydrapple.
Yup, was jealous of my Fire Ogerpon, LOL
His reaction to my Ogerpon was very fitting.
I swapped in Ogerpon to take advantage of the rain and beat up his Incineroar. It was a safe switch in because his Porygon-Z was recharging from a Hyper Beam. He got pissed about it.
Before Ogerpon could even move on the next turn, Kieran commanded his Porygon-Z to use Hyper Beam and it one-shot Ogerpon.
…. Again very fitting and in character for him. I think that’ll come out as my favorite interaction in a battle.

Each of them, a Unova champion in their own right, each based off a part of the Unova Legend. (Yes, while Kieran isn't the reigning Unova Champion, Blueberry Academy is in Unova waters so roll with it.)
Really great battle, would be quite difficult as well, but against my Fluttermane he couldn’t do anything. No Wonder he had a mental breakdown at the end.

tbis is not a switch problem this is a problem with gamefreak not optimizing the game properly (which is not their fault since they obviously had an early deadline forced on them)

that was my exact technique, because Calyrex-S doesn't have the dark and ghost x4 weakness with tera and there is no yveltal in s/v (all of its problems in swsh).

I flipped his rain set up on him by bringing out Koraidon and sweept the rest of his team.
Still, I was expecting him to keep using Grass and Bug types, glad that wasn't the case.

@@Dialga22239Sounds more like Singa to me, especially the guitar. The guitar sounds exactly like the one Mitsuo Singa uses, and the guitar parts of this track heavily remind me of Proud Grudge, Blue Stardust, and Be Prepared. The strings and violin sound more like Jindo, Mizutani, or Ito. I know it's likely not any of the ones I mentioned, but this track definitely reminds me of something that would be in a Trails game
