Woohoo 🥳
Sally and Marty I enjoy your videos so much. I'm disabled now and unable to travel. I look forward to seeing your videos and travels. Thank you for sharing.
You’re very welcome! So glad you get to travel virtually with us 😊
Me too. I'm visiting a lot of places via RUclips. Thank you for driving around for me and all the others like me.
@@lynnestamey7272 you're very welcome Lynne!
I was adopted at Eau Claire in 1980, and I miss it so much! Prior to that, foster homes in Barron, Siren, Cameron, and Spooner. I've been all over that state. I have great memories and some horrific ones (strange dichotomy) . but I love your channel. Thanks so much. BTW: Wiscpnsin, indeed, has more lakes than MN.
I’ve only been to Eau Claire once - to visit the college. From what I remember it is a pretty cool town. Glad you’re here and enjoying the content! Thank you 😊
@@SightseeingSally very nice city.
Back in the late 60s and early 70s I spent a lot of time in those little wisconsin towns playing music in all the little hole-in-the-wall bars. I think I played in every little hick-town in wisconsin!
Have you ever been to Clintonville, Wisconsin?, home of the very first Four Wheel Drive vehicle. The FWD and Seagrave Fire equipment.
One of my favorite things about your videos is hearing your Wisconsin accents.
It always strikes me as funny when people say we have an accent. Then I realized: yes, we have an accent lol 😂
What accent...lol
@@bettythompson4972 :😜
‘Gettin’ Burgers and gettin’ ploughed!’
I always love the clarity Marty brings.
Well...ya missed it ‼️ By not going down that Rustic road ( County 'I' ) off of Hwy 8 before ya get to Goodman. Goodman County park, built by the CCC in 1936, 37, and 38 a massive hiking area with the rustic log cabins, Swede John creek with walk over foot bridge, tumbling rapids & a beaver pond according to the hiking trail keyosk, (however ya spell it) map. LOL.
Darn it!
As a fellow Wisconsinite I LOVE your videos of "off the beaten path" places around the state. My wife and I enjoy going on road trips and have gotten a few ideas of places to see from you. Thank you!
Awesome! So glad our videos have sparked some of your adventures 😊
I've eaten at Richard's in Dunbar a couple times. And then ice cream in Wausaukee.
A couple times… must mean it’s good 😉
@@SightseeingSally It was OK, but quite a while ago. Plus, there aren't many other choices in Dunbar . . . or in the entire area until one gets to Iron Mountain.
Love in WI seeing all the ATVs at the local bars
Hey Sally & Marty! This Appalachian hillbilly has made it to Meridth National recreation area in Fritch, TX.
Hopefully, maybe, fingers crossed, one day soon our paths will cross.
You kno I ALWAYS watch your videos in their entirety and give the thumbs up. They are free ya kno!😁💯👍
Woohoo! Hope you enjoy visiting Lake Meredith as much as us.
You never know, it could happen.
And thank you 😁!!!!
Sitting here panning my gold, listening to the rattles of my nuggets as the hit the side of the bottle; and then, one of my favorite two come on with tales of the past. Wow! Couldn't think of a better way to spend my afternoon. Thank y'all for sharing. Be blessed by the Best! Next time🙂
Yay! Awesomeness, thank you 🤩 Sounds like a great time, Richard!
Thanks so much for always putting a smile on my face!
You’re welcome ☺️
that historical marker before wasuaukee is great to see when the leaves are changing colors
Lived in Amberg and graduated from Wausaukee High School. Really neat video!
Well, today Sightseerers it was 96 in the Sonoran Desert, and I was checking housing price in Vermont on Zillow. Seriously I am getting too old and crotchety for the 100 degree weather down in these parts anymore. Sally and Marty, you may have been in the middle of nowhere on this currently little trip today, but I gotta tell ya it sure looked cool, ya I am jealous! The hotest temperatures I have experienced in Chandler, Arizona was 126 back in 2018. Back in Mid-July 2006, I drove through Death Valley when it was 130 degrees, and every surface would burn you. Now, at 69, I am dreaming of Vermont, because I have not seen snow since December 2014! Sally and Marty, May You Have A Glorious Week!!!
Yikes! That’s hot 🥵!!! I think you’d love the 66 degrees here.
If there was a phone in there, it would probably be a dead ringer.
Hahaha 🤣
Sounds like a Marty joke!!!
Uuuhuh huh .We hold these truths to be self evident that all Men and women are created by Go you know the thing ~joe Biden ~ 😊
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Poor Marty! Just joking Sally! Love the way you guys tease and probe each other...reminds us of ourselves...Thanks for vids and the laughs...Steve and Val...Port Dover, Ontario
We haven’t quite made it to the Costanza level yet 😉 thanks, glad you enjoyed the show 😁
WI is such a beautiful state. I live down on the edge of Waukesha County and Jefferson County.
I should also add that I live in an old one room rural schoolhouse for the Summit/Concord area. Built in 1857. Classes stopped in 1957. A farmer down the road graduated from my schoolhouse as the last class in 1958.
We are in Ocon, right down the road from you. Love the old one room schoolhouses
@@slice40 awesome! Be sure to try some of my sweet corn this summer if you like corn. Little stand on Battle Creek Road.
We lived in Shorewood and in 1968, my dad decided to check out a farm for sale in Crandon. He wanted it as a hunting / vacation retreat. I think it was 80 acres. My mother objected. I think she thought he might seek a job transfer to Green Bay and make that home. The price was around $20,000. A few years later, a valuable natural resource was discovered on the land, and whoever owned the property, sold it to Wisconsin Gas for a large sum. I recall that long summer drive to the property in a car without air.
Really enjoy your videos. I live in Oregon but my dear friend was from Wisconsin and loves to share her love of Wisconsin stories growing up. What a beautiful state. Very Grateful.
Thanks Mary!
You should tape _ record some their old Wisconsin stories
We used to have a cabin in Athelstan and we used to drive around and visit the little towns up there. This was fun to see all the stomping grounds! Thanks Sally
Yea Wabeno! ThanX! Opps, you missed the rock and prospectors shop in Wausaukee.
My husband cracks up because you remind him of me sometimes! lol
Dear Sally, Christmas will be here before you know it, eBay has many air raid sirens at diffrent prices for different budgets.
🤫😉
Thanks for the tours!
🤠👍
Hahaha so right you are.
Had a cabin 2 miles from Middle Inlet. Stopped there for gas on the way to the Pipeline with our mud trucks.
Fun video. I use to drive up that way for work some years ago, nice to see the area again. Hope you all stay safe and healthy. I know the city of Siren replaced some of the sirens when they failed a couple decades ago. I do not know what happened to the old equipment.
Thanks! It was a fun afternoon.
Yes, back in the 70s and 80s every Sunday after services dad would get us in the station wagon and drive for a few hours and stop off for sundaes or cones. So nice and peaceful.
What a sight for, sightseeing eyes!
Cheers! Thank you 😊
Thank you Sally and Marty!
Dear Marty, Christmas will be here before you know it, eBay has many phone booths at diffrent prices for different budgets.
🤫😉
Thanks for the tours!
🤠👍
Love Crivits
Fighting with my sibling about who touched who. I laughed at that one. Sounds like me and my siblings. Also, remember the "Are we there yet?"
it's really awesome that they put so much effort into reseeding those forest areas. cool vid, overall 🤙
Imagine how different the north woods would be if they hadn’t. Ps Thank you 😊
Been to several on the small towns you highlighted - great places..... God bless you and Marty
Awesome! Did you ever get a burger at the Highline?
Oh Lordy, the Far Side cartoon was one of the best!
Hahaha yeah it was a good one
Heard from someone the grew up in Amberg in the late 50's-60's. Harry White lived in the house next to his garage. A small man, he used to walk down the street everyday and manually sound the siren/alarm precisely at noon. Sounds like he cherished that responsibilty to the people of Amberg. And very often the local kids used to do their best to talk to him while he walked, asking him questions, whatever it took to make him late with the siren. Eventually the siren was automated and Mr White had been replaced.
The blue truck with the built on rack was used for hauling Christmas trees. He made quite a few runs to Chcago with that truck loaded down with trees.
Welcome back siteseeing Sally!
Love your videos!
burton,wi is a backroad town ,about 3 miles off of the main highway, about 7 houses,1 bar,a church and lumber company and a baseball fiield behind the bar
Hi Sally & Marty, I am glad that I discovered your channel. I really enjoy videos that show places in our country that I have never been to or seen before. I started looking for this type of video two years back when I was diagnosed with cancer. I found that this type of content really helped me take my mind off of my health battle.
You deserve a much larger audience for your videos... Hopefully you will gain a larger audience in the future. I would like to share a few thoughts that came to mind that could possibly help you guys grow your audience:
1. Consider adding the town names or the region and state you are exploring in the title of your videos... When people search for videos for a specific town and / or state name, your videos have a better chance of appearing in the search results.
2. Consider trying to normalize your audio volume. This pertains to videos where you add voice-overs. Your "indoor" voice is so much lower / softer than your "outside" voice. For me, I really have to raise the volume level to hear the voice-overs, then when it reverts back to the original audio - it's really loud and I have to adjust back down. I know this might seem insignificant, but it is something that would add more polish to the video, and save your viewers from having to adjust the volume back and forth throughout the video.
3. Consider developing a standardized outro for your videos. You already utilize a nice intro graphic effect - when your viewers see it they know it's one of your videos right away.
- Perhaps softly fade in a short piece of copyright free instrumental music.
- Thank the viewers for watching all the way to the end.
- Ask the viewer to Like / Subscribe / and Hit Notify so they do not miss out on your next video.
- Perhaps come up with a short catch phrase... a catchy one that will stick in the viewers head.
- Possibly add another graphic effect to "bookend" the video with graphic effects.
Right now your videos just end, which feels somewhat abrupt, like an unfinished end to the video.
I wish you guys all the best, and hope your audience grows substantially each and every day!
We always like to get ice cream from Northern Delight in Lakewood. Hope to see you there one day.
Lakewood is on the list! Gotta try me some Northern Delight ICE CREAM (get your minds out of the gutter sightseers🤣)
Enjoying watching you and Marty making your way through these towns and even using a paper map. That sure is a lousy looking pay phone in that one town. Amberg is certainly a hopping town. An old Pepsi sign. Btw do you love Pepsi or do you love Coke? Pretty cool they had a map of the area. Cool white 14:29 garage😊. Thanks for sharing the sign about it. Boy several old classic cars. That is cool with the old siten on top of the fire station😮. Yes i agree those buildings in the alley were moved there. Powder shack usually contained explosives. A cute museum with the old historic town hall next to it.
The park outside Dunbar is nice with the pond. I am not sure about the redish orange water. Richards Motel looks like something you would find along old Route 66. Rustic roads are always interesting, except if a gravel road. Yum, Ice Cream! Enjoyed your video. Btw i love your hat with the buttons on it, although i think i have told you before.
Neither. My preference is Cherry Coke lol 😂
Town Hall area was nice!
Yes, it is
The big thing you missed on Rustic Road 32 is Goodman County Park. It is a gem of a place. Log cabins built in the depression. Pike River runs through it. Miles of trails. Worth the ride down RR32.
Love getting off the beaten path's in MN & WI, hope to take a road trip from Corpus Christi, TX to Superior, WI next year when we retire and don't have to make that trip for a week's vacation from work. The only reservation we have is what do you do if you have car trouble. Thanks for your videos, always enjoy them.
Sounds like an excellent trip with lots to see along the way!
You’re welcome! So glad you enjoy them.
Nice beautiful country up north. Cool video.
It sure is! Thanks Jack 😀
Such a pretty area you showed us today😊. Hello to Marty!
Marty says “Hi”
My “SightSeeingSally,” sticker arrived in the mail, thank you so much! Will be going on the back window of my “cah.”
Awesome! You're very welcome!
Me and my best friend would be in the very back of the suburban giving other cars the finger out the back window.
Hahaha sounds like something Marty would do
thanks for braving the crowds up there!
Anytime
I couldn't love this more if I tried.
We loved the introduction to the video because we completely understand and do the same thing in New Mexico ....... including ice cream if we can find it.
Doug and Pam
Belen, New Mexico U.S.A.
I would think snow mobiles would be the mode of transportation in Wisconsin. A very good video thank you.
For sure lol you’re welcome and thank you 😃
He really , really needs another one!
Hahaha no
Thanks for the video
You’re welcome Stu
I hope you get your new pup🐾
Glad to see your ride ended with ice cream!
It’s the only way 😘
Great 👍
Thanks Julio ☺️
Gotta find a cigarette shop!!!!.....NO, it's a PHONE BOOTH .....gawd, I love these tours.....thank you, thank you.....luvit
You’re so very welcome 😁
That area is ATV/UTV heaven imho. Richard's Supper Club is very good! I am guessing that rustic road was County I. If it was you could go south to Benson Lake Road and turn left to Athelstane and back to Amberg.
Love the sunglasses. Marty is a lucky man having a cool wife! Not trying to be creepy
You are hip to Marty. It would be interesting if YOU got a care and drove him. To your next destination.
5:05 "Shrodinger's Cat...er Phone"
Hope Marty gets his wish and finds an, air raid siren.
Only if I can get another dog lol 😂
M-A-R-T-Y!!!!
It’s always interesting when Marty’s around 😜
you almost made it to my neighborhood
Sally my vote is for another dog, instead of an air raid siren!😂
Yay! 😁
your neighbors wont let you know where theres a siren to be had
Hahaha no they won’t
Marty, have you ever watched the electric meter when one of those fire sirens is running? It's like a hard spin on the wheel of fortune. Except your fortune is going to the power company.
Still want to fire one up?
We loooove this stuff ..... (question is "can Marty find a cannon")
I’m sure he can lol
Grrreat!!
Thanks!!!
Or when your significant other responds to the question "Where do you want to eat?" and they say 'I don't know" Then take them there.
Hahaha exactly! Good one 👍🏻
when the price of the gas is over $3.00 or more , when food cost is taking more of your money, people go to work and have fun close to the home.
have you ever been to Ogdensburg in Waupaca co.? I call it the a living ghost town. not far from your own home
I hadn’t heard of Ogdensburg until now. Thanks for the tip!
research some of its history@@SightseeingSally look up some of its history.
I just bought my home here in Ogdensburg. 13 months ago, wouldn't want it different.
3:10 - Haha! Your usual!
Lol
Was this shot in may this year ? I'm surprised the leaves are so out up north
Just this past week.
Dunbar is amazing. ......
You want to see Wisconsin at it's best. Visit.... Three Lakes, Eagle River, Minocqua...
The "E.W.Drop-inn"
The only thing holding me back is the cold and snow.
Yeah, there’s no getting around that unless you snowbird somewhere else during winter
I'm 70 years old. I remember The Sunday Drive. I recall older folks being dressed up, probably because they'd go for the drive after church.
I use the saying get the hip boots out it’s getting deep
Ebay has Sirens
Shhh, don’t tell Marty 😉🤣
Boris and Natasha ???
Geeeee, I dunno Rocky .....
Bullwinkle
65 or 66 t-bird!
That old truck is a 67
What’s your take on what it was used for?
@@SightseeingSally looks like a auto hauler
NO MORE DOGS!

Go figure
Can you say, dont ya know or eh
Eh?
There is a 90+% chance the phone is gone. That said, I have seen you find two working phones, while the vlogger I first saw who looks is still batting *0%.
how about getting yourself HUGE RayBan's
Hahaha get in the car whether you like it or not ive been there
No phone
Hey aint that the place where they talk thru their nose?😅
