Paul and Steve you guys have done exactly what the car deserves to really preserve it for the future. The work done now has caught any rust before it gets bad. The owner has made the right decision. Great work lads. So looking forward to seeing her all finished.
Who knew that 30 plus years on these cars would be so iconic and sought after. It's thanks to dedicated guys like yourselves that these cars are being kept on the road. Brilliant that this car is going to be used and enjoyed. Fantastic work guys, just so keen to follow the progress and see it back on the road where it belongs. 👍

@@paullinfoot6017 Watching you boys working on these cars is a pleasure.Im clueless about these things, so watching people who know what they’re doing is really enjoyable. Fancy restoring my Evo 5?!

You guys are doing everything just right no doubt about it. I'd call what you're doing a thorough and necessary restoration. You've definitely caught it just in time before the rot sets in, really good to see you address the various jobs that might seem unimportant but make a big difference to the end result as well as future proofing it. Top work ! Glad you're doing the Zinc plating I find it's not overly expensive, same goes for the powder coating that's usually quite reasonable. The underside came out great it looks nice and fresh, when it's clean like that i'm sure you're going to enjoy refitting all the shiny components. Glad I found your channel it's making me get off my arse and carry on with my current restoration project, I've been doing a bit too much procrastinating recently you guys clearly haven't !
I think you two have done a fantastic job on that car, wow it really is solid, people forget that not everybody wants a perfect car thats completely unusable 👍🏻👍🏻
Its good to hear its going to be used, totally the right direction you're taking too. I hope the owner gets plenty of use out of it in the near future.
Both Wurth & Teroson do a very good underbody black wax, it goes on like factory coating & looks tremendous. Its in a stonechip type of tin, so you use a stonechip gun to apply. On cold days you have to heat the tin up before you can get it out of the tin. Maybe worth a look for you.
My experience is Teroson is crap, it is rubber based and start to flake quick, water gets between and corrosion begins. You better of with Bilt Hamber syntax, it stays soft and waxy and protects better, only thing is you have to keep up with it every year....
Awesome work guys you're definitely doing the right thing by not over restoring the car, I'm sure the owner will be so pleased with the end result. I hope Adam is watching carefully, it's exactly what the Escort needs.

For Ice blasting, try to check hydroblaster but those usually works with 440V or can find diesel/gasoline powered stuff and for that underneath tar in car would be enough 700bar, then if needed can reduce pressure if start damaging floor pan, but it wont.

Really, really interesting. In my honest opinion, you’ve 💯 done the right thing by this RS500 and given it a chance to live a much longer life.
