I realised that after each step, he often asks questions like, "How did I know this?", "Guess why I did this?", answering all of our questions and doubts. It shows that he truly cares that his students understand the concept
I quit drawing a while ago because I wasn't really good at it nor was I improving... Up until I stumbled upon of your shorts while I was just randomly scrolling through my feed. I was amazed by how good your drawing was, so I immediately subscribed, clicked on your chamnel and continued to watch more of your videos. Your videos genuinely motivated me to start drawing again, and I'm already imrpoving significantly. I'm like 4× better than I used to be (still not as good as you nor am I amazing at all, but hey, atleast I'm getting better at it). Anyways, I just wanna thank you for getting me motivated into drawing again. You definitely deserve more subs😊
I mean juni ito was en route to becoming a dentist so who's to say u can't pursue art as well as ur professional medical degree. Obviously it's ur choice at the end of the day but good luck with whatever u do... As long as it doesn't involve murder and execution😅
I have never drawn anything past a stick figure. Your videos and teachings have given me inspiration to try to learn something I’ve always wanted to learn. Please continue being a calm, gentle, educational, and pure soul! The world needs more people like you.
HAHAH, I GOT THIS ONE A LOT BETTER! I know I said this before, but I feel I am making a lot of progress. The eyes are still my weakest point and, as you said, drawing that looking-down shape was tricky. I liked how you mentioned drawing a bit wilder some ties. I find myself playing by the book a lot, and I think we should really draw freely as children. Once again, let's keep going. 감사합니다!! Btw, I am very happy because I picked up a few more Korean words, I hope I can come back to my Korean lessons next year. 감사합니다!!!!!
I feel particularly happy about this one because I think I understand the logic behind lips a bit better now. However, I think they will require a lot more practice. I have made it a personal goal now, before 2024 starts I should be able to draw them a bit better!
you're such an amazing teacher! The thing I struggle with is trying to draw something just as pretty without a reference, it always ends up not quite right.
i am learning how to draw for the first time in my life and it seems a little late because all my peers are already master artists, but this video really helped me to boost my confidence, thank you very much.
I learned a lot about how to draw a face because of you and your channel, whenever I want to learn something, I always come to your channel, I am grateful for your gentle and humble existence, much love.
Thank you so much for this! It's been years since I attempted semi realism, having only drawn in a cartoon or anime style prior, and I just blew myself away with my portrait!!
I am absolutely thrilled with your tutorials and your drawing style is exactly to my taste! Many thanks for your extremely great and motivating work. I'm finally on fire for drawing again. :D
BIG LIKE depuis la Suisse. 👍
Broooo i have been struggling alot with art lately i used to draw free hand portrait and they were good but these days ,i just couldnt draw it anymore..this video gave me a perspective of how to manage proportions . I am sooo happy i am definitely trying it rn. Thank you soooo much
Está de parabéns chommang, além de ser um ótimo artista é também um ótimo professor! Aprendi e estou aprendendo muito com seus vídeos. Sucesso sempre 👏👏
It’s crazy the best artists in the world like Yuming and WLOP today are anonymous and probably not that rich. Meanwhile so many painters from 19-20th century are so well-known even to non-artists. There are also some works from yuming I’ve seen that are super minimal brush strokes and it’s very amazing.
@@vivannet231 I actually meant to comment this on another video but auto play switched to another video before I hit post. But that’s a very good point! Maybe in the future the great digital artists of today will be appreciated
I've never taken my drawing serious until recently, and I find your style amazing! Very much where I want to end up, "semi realistic" :). Much love dude!
dude i hope u have a wonderful life , i was in art block for more than 2 years , then i found your channel, thank you so much!! i hope one day u do a live
I love the way you draw the nose.. also thank you for the lessons! It’s very much appreciated, im still learning and also kinda like your artstyle so maybe I’ll try learning more from your channel!
Chommang and 2 other creators are truly my idols and my inspirations, You are quite really the only reason i take part in drawing, it’s always fun when i draw something nice and whenever i watch your videos i makes me want to draw and practice more not only in drawing but even in math these small but relaxing videos are the best, it sometimes makes me wonder, “how much more can I do?”. It gives me the feeling of not giving up or to keep going I thank you for making these videos and i hope you keep going. :)❤❤❤
Thank you for showing the processs as is. Until now, all my lines were never perfectly smooth or clean, and this stressed me out as I could never get the perfect lines I see on tutorial. Then I see a Master doing fantastic work on initial lines that are as shaky as mine. And it works. Thank you!
U are a great teacher u know 😮, u motivate me to back drawing ,i like ur way to teach people the sound the quiet and sound of ur pencil soo smoth ,THANK U ❤
Just to clarify, in art school, what you're describing in the beginning... Naturalistic (as we see in reality), realistic (as you do, also realistic looking comics like batman), then cartoon. 👍🏼 *Naturalistic *Realistic *Cartoon Also, it would help if w the nose and eyes, explain like "this is in this area bc it's half way bt these points" or "halfway down this line". I'm Left trying to guess otherwise. Esp for beginners (I'm not, but for them it would help them understand what you're doing). As for example... How big to make the sockets. To me it looks like they start at top of the oval. And that wouid assume ppl are drawing the oval the right size... So must explain that too. Which is I think based on the tilt of the face. Assuming ppl are not eyeballing it.
I draw mostly anime but I really want to get into semi realism but don’t know where to start. This was helpful for me on how to begin. I’ll practice my faces first and foremost so I can get the right proportions of the facial features right.
I realised that after each step, he often asks questions like, "How did I know this?", "Guess why I did this?", answering all of our questions and doubts. It shows that he truly cares that his students understand the concept

You can still draw as a hobby.
As an hobby artist who graduated engineering trust me having a hobby outside of your profession is worth it

I love your honestly and humility! Two qualities that are quite rare these days! Thank you for this amazing tutorial!
the calmness in his voice, it gives me the vibes of bob ross, and a bit of how much this man cares for his viewers.
