    Thanks, Chris!
After seeing your video, I was encouraged to try it myself.
The outcome is better than I expected.
The only thing I want to ask is that I see very small spots that appear to be micro bubbles or something similar.
Can you guess what is happening?
I am spraying water-based poly on top of 220 grid sanded Valchromat (naturally colored high density MDF)

Oh wow! Thank you. My goal was to make it easy for anyone to try. I used to be so scared of a sprayer, but it only takes a little bit of practice.

It’s still scary at times. I did t have luck with the Wagner for long it kept spraying chunks. So I switched to the Harbor Freight black widow. $189 but does need a compressor. I like it better. It sprays so powerfully that the finish is like glass.

Got my heart set on a Graco GX18. Nice little professional unit with a hopper for EZ cleanup or color swaps.
Ill be mostly using mine to finish my own woodworking, along with some trim painting work i may pick up.
I install floors, walls, and bathrooms with various materials. I am often asked about baseboards, im tired of turning other people on to work only to have it come out sub-par to my strict standards. So im brining it all in house, and getting into custom mixing my own products from the ground up. Not only the color, but even the base ingredients!
Im over here swapping out mineral spirits for d-limonene as i see fit so my spray smells like oranges, not like you need to make for the exit.

I messed up my dining room table with the poly because it was my first time using a sprayer. Your tips really will help me once I sand it down and paint it again. I had used the Dixie bell paint you recommended on another video and I loved how the sprayer worked with that one.

Thank You for this tutorial!! ❤ Been on the confused fence about sprayers & still leaned to Wagner!! When I went to Lowes- they have 3 diff kinds. Now I know which one to get!! Love all the tips and tricks too. Like practicing with water first!! I’ll have to rewatch video to see about humidity ( live in Athens, Ga & always humid during the summer!) Your daughter did a Fantastic piece!! Yay💜💫💜

Cathy, I'm so glad it was helpful. Yes, spraying in the south in the summer can be rough. Just water down your topcoat to help extend the dry time so it will level out.

I bought a Wagner Sprayer and it waits in ny basement together with some chairs and colours for its first job. But unfortunately it's still too cold outside. I am so much looking forward to spring and higher temperatures over here in Germany.
Thank you so mich for your tips! I think getting to know the new tool by using water is a great idea!

Thanks Christina. I purchased the Wagner last year. I bought it to spray 6 large dining chairs and table, however haven't even started. Maybe too scared to. Thanks for this video as I want to make sure I understand what could happen. I have Gatorhide for my table top because I understand it is the best for dining table. Is this what you have found as well or the Poly you showed today? I appreciate your videos and the time you take to teach.

I think the Varathane is easier for beginners and should hold up as well as Gator HIde for a dining table. I've also used General Finishes High Performance Topcoat on a kitchen table and that holds up well, too.

Hi Christina. I have the Flexio 2500 which I haven’t used yet. What is the difference between that and the 3500? Thanks!

    • @ChristinaMuscari
      @ChristinaMuscari  4 месяца назад +1

Basically, all the info I shared it the same. The only difference is that the Flexio 2500 is a little heavier, so your arm might fatigue faster with that model.
