For myself, vaping was almost like a cheat code for quitting cigarettes. It made it incredibly easy for me. The problem was, I continued to vape for 3 years after quitting cigarettes. So while I felt a lot better physically (better lung capacity, no smoker's cough, etc) and saved a lot of money, I ended up trading habits in the end. Two years nicotine free now and never going back.
@@aaronb9630 I tapered off my nicotine over the course of a few months. The habit itself was the hardest part. The physical addiction was pretty easy to beat at that point.
Not often someone finds a "healthier" alternative and still pushes themselves to quit nicotine entirely, kudos to you. Thank you for sharing here, David!
@@FutureProofTV Of the only 4 people I know who vaped all 4 of them went in with the intention of being more health conscious and eventually quitting all nicotine use. Of those four: 1 still vapes nicotine regularly, 1 only vapes 0.0% nicotine e-liquid now _(he said the behavior was addictive for him to)_ and 2 no longer smoke nor vape at all
I’m on the same path myself. Off cigarettes for about a year and off nicotine for a couple of weeks. Will probably drop it completely soon but the habit is hard to break..
I stopped smoking on April 24 this year (just 10 days ago) and switched to vaping because I just didn't like how it made my lungs feel anymore... after a week of vaping, I smoked a cigarette and let me tell you I felt kinda disgusted by its taste and smell and threw it away after 2,3 puffs. It was the weirdest thing, I barely realised it tasted like that when I was regularly smoking. The other day I was at the train station and a dude was smoking nearby me, and I couldn't stand the smell and had to move away. Really gives you a perspective... since I have started vaping, I can honestly say I can breathe better, I don't smell like an ashtray anymore, and overall I feel better and more balanced if you know what I mean. I don't think I'll ever go back to smoking cigarettes, ever. I am planning to reduce my nicotine dose to zero in the next couple of months and then stop vaping altogether. The message is clear if you smoke, switch to vape, if you dont smoke, dont vape. good luck
Damn now i kinda understand why my dad is disgusted by cig smell after being nic free for like 15 years Edit: ingorr my username i swear its a gta v quote 😭😭😭😭
Smoking and drinking overall is mostly consumed because of some form of peer pressure, even if it was 100% your choice, just the sheer facts that you seen other people do it it made you curious to try it yourself. If you never seen a cigarette or Vape or a beer bottle in your life you wouldn't be aware that you needed to smoke or drink to have "Fun" or to "Relax" you Both are highly overrated
Maybe but what are the stats like? Tobacco has been taking in roughly 11% of people hitting age of majority as "new customers for life" as their business model for a long time. The reason they're shanking vaping is because it's killing their market. (like 90% of the issues Future Proof raised there are features intentionally introduced by tobacco companies to sabotage the market - non-BT vape companies don't do that shit)
My sister didn’t smoke at all but started vaping and def has a nicotine addiction now. She’s admitted that if it didn’t taste like mango she never would’ve started
An immense thing that is missing here is that people enjoy the act of smoking. He emphasizes sooo much on the “cool” aspect, but people enjoy inhaling smoke. The throat tingle, the ritual, the feeling it gives. I reaaaaally don’t feel cool vaping, and rarely did smoking either.
i bought a disposable vape recently just to try it out (i've smoked for many years) and i must say that although i can really feel the nicotine's effects much more than with cigarettes, the most addictive thing about it is the flavour and icy finish
It’s the addiction that associates these things in your brain, rather than feeling “cool” Most people over a certain age don’t smoke because it’s cool, they smoke because it’s an impulse, an addiction, and those associations of the ritual and the inhale etc, is all a part of why people smoke, it’s the same reason why vapes have actually been rising in popularity so much, it’s just like smoking, but with its own ritual and associations, delivering the same product, albiet in a much less disgusting and much less harmful manner.. like 100x less harmful and dangerous, it’s an issue with addiction rather than vaping specifically though in all honesty, just like coffee, or alcohol, etc
This, its why I still vape with only 3mg of nicotine. He also forgot to mention that nicotine itself is not much different then caffeine, yet there's not many people talking about that issue with kids or sugar for that matter.
One positive note, my ex-husband stopped his smoking addiction with cheap e-cigarettes which he hated so much he stopped smoking in 4 weeks. It was amazing. So much of smoking is socially based. Once he didn’t have the whole pocket fire and chatty breaks going on, he mysteriously lost his desire to smoke. Go figure?
It’s not really to do with anything social specifically, but rather what we associate with it, whether it’s having a smoke after dinner, going to get some fresh air alone or not, etc, it wires the addiction in your head to associate things with it.
That's a pretty funny story. How long had he smoked before then? He smoked almost exclusively with friends? I believe it starts as heavily social for the first year or two. Probably a bit of a stretch to say it is heavily socially based in general though.
To play the devils advocate, ill say that a juul pod having as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes is the whole point. A juul pod is meant to be the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes. Ive never heard of anyone vaping an entire juul pod at once
@@cloudunknown Not exactly, but if you know how many cigarettes you'd smoke in a day you can work it out closely enough. Interestingly, my former 20-pack of cigarettes per day habit has translated exactly into my daily vaping requirement, the differences being that cigarettes were four times more expensive and 95% more likely to kill me. I am SO very okay with that!
I think something else that’s important to mention when talking about disposable vapes is that they are not under the same laws as refillable or pods. Disposable vapes can still have fruity flavors whereas most pod products cannot. In addition if you’re a kid its a lot easier to buy a disposable and have their parents take it than a whole expensive device. These are just things I’ve noticed as someone who went to high school and now college through the vape epidemic.
Interesting! Looks like the vaping corps are constantly finding new ways to skirt around regs, and it helps also that the disposable vapes resemble traditional smoking more (many of them are small/discreet, they're inexpensive and easy to find, shareable, etc.) Definitely sad to see such a huge uptick in a disposable product
i forgot about that reason, im above the age of having to worry about that😂 but friends and people around me still buy disposables, no idea why, i’m the only one using a refillable pod system apparently, and it’s so much cheaper
I know it's bad for kids who never would have smoked. However, it's been a game changer for me. I was starting to get respiratory infections and was starting having trouble catching my breath. Since I've switched to vaping all those problems are gone. I even do an hour of cardio now with no problems
I am in my 10th year smoke free thanks to vaping. No, it is not 100% harmless but neither is a lot of the stuff in your fridge. As far as uncertainty with regards to long term health effects, British scientists have conducted studies based on bio markers. These should tell us a lot of long term effects. According to them the measurings are similar to persons who use other nicotine products like gum or patches. Agree with you that youth and non-smokers should not touch it. For a long time vaping was a sub culture for enthusiasts and hobbyists who wanted to quit smoking, but then brands like Juul came along and gave it a bad name. This was actually prior to Altria (who owns Marlboro) bought a 35% stake of it. Some things in your video are flat out wrong. The EVALI cases had nothing to do with nicotine vaping. They were caused by illicit THC cartridges with some kind of oil which releases toxic fumes when heated. Yes, they were consumed in regular vaping devices but don't tell me all spoons are bad just because you can use them to consume cyanide. And no, shishas are not electronic vaping devices, which you make it seem like they are in the video. Be careful with painting vaping in a solely negative light. Remember there are lots of us it has helped quit smoking and probably saved our lives. At least mine, my neighbor and a couple of friends. If someone who smokes and considers vaping (which while still not ideal is a lot better than smoking), they might be turned off by videos like these. Please present a more balanced view with more pros and cons and ecourage smokers who can't quit otherwise to try it, like the British health authorities, my doctor and many other scientists.
I second this, very clear well thought out comment unlike 1 to many "facts in this video. I was a 30yr smoker and on my vaping journey now slowly reducing my nicotine intake (currently down to 1.5nic). Went to my doctors when I started and took lung X-rays and in each follow up there is physical improvement. Vaping saved my life or at the very least let me have a better one and yes its clear that its not good for you but scientifically proven to be much more safer then smoking. As for the main point of your video I agree that the market did what it does best and intentionally marketed to attract new consumers beyond smokers and that's where all the public health sections should have paid attention but big tobacco still holds much power in government. Not sure of the US landscape but in Canada there has been a great deal done to discourage new addiction by ways of reducing marketing and not to mention the new excess tax. BC has been the biggest regulators on vaping to minimize attracting non smokers and youth, seeing that the talent on this RUclips channel are from BC, it's funny none of that was mentioned. Love this channel but have to say I was very disappointed in this one as it was one sided which gave a feel that it had an agenda, was it also sponsored by big tobacco? You guys are better then this, tisk tisk
The arguments against vaping conflate a lot of problems and non-problems that have nothing to do with each other. The consistency of vaping liquid comes from glycerine, which is a food ingredient used in cakes and confectionery - you can buy bottles of it in the baking aisle of your supermarket. The mist effect comes from propylene glycol, which is use both as a food ingredient and - get this - in aerosol inhalers used to treat medical conditions such as asthma! The flavourings used are also food ingredients. Yes, the nicotine in vapes is addictive, but its only consequence other than making you want more of it are occasional slight heart rate and blood pressure spikes in some users, which you'll also get from sex, tennis, dancing or watching good action movies. It's entirely unlike addictive classified drugs or alcohol. No-one ever robbed someone, crashed a car or beat up their partner under the influence of nicotine. It's need-creating but in itself effectively harmless. Any other substances in vaping liquid are in such tiny concentrations as to be inconsequential. Yes, selling fruity vapes containing nicotine to kids is bad. Yes, the use of disposable vapes is bad. Yes, vaping can make you ill if you incompetently try to make your own e-liquid, or use vapes from unregulated sources. However, all of these are separate issues that need to be dealt with individually through control and laws. For adult ex-smokers who purchase and use vaping materials responsibly, vaping remains a massively safer alternative to tobacco. Of course, the one factor that never gets addressed is that some people just resent the idea of smokers getting away with it...
That last sentence 👌 I can’t even tell you the bitchy people who make a face, pew, or fake cough in the presence of small vape waft. Haters and losers lol
I agree completely, the problem isn’t the vapes.. it’s the problem with addiction and kids being able to get a hold of it too easily, vaping is still countless times safer than smoking.

I quit smoking in '07 after smoking off and really on for nearly ten years. It was my 5th attempt...but it finally DID stick. I needed to practice quitting before I got it right...from my experience it actually gets easier with each attempt. If you are trying to quit tobacco and failing, don't give up. The best part of vapes for me is second hand smoke. I was a kid when smoking was banned in restaurants, but I remember how unavoidable it was to be around smoke. Now that folks are vaping, It’s much less damaging to people around them. If folks want to vape themselves I’m not upset about it, because second hand vape damage isn’t a thing….. that I’m aware of.
I honestly wanna see more studies done on long term exposure to second hand vape smoke. My ex room mate kept arguing that I Should allow her to vape indoors because second hand vape smoke isn't harmful, and I am just not convinced.
@@leifmeadows3782 Well the smoke does contain a smal part of what was in the liquid as well as CO2 and other fine particles caused by the heating of cotton and metal as well as the liquid. When I went on my search I found a few things, but most of them are very obviously biased. One had a list of "Toxic and harmful chemicals found in Vape smoke" which included Propelyne Glycol. Which is used in the production of polimers, Used as a thickener in many forms and industries and it is also used in almost every syrup, sweetener and much much more in every kitchen in the world world wide. The Most dangerous thing, which is still not fully clear how it behaves, as most studies on the subject removed reality from the testing (E.g. leaving cells in an enclosed space during testing for days making it impossible for the vaping smoke to disperse and instead causing it to liquify again) is Acrolein. A Byproduc of the heating of Propelyne Glycol which causes cell degradation and is linked to cancer. But due to how the Vape behaves it is hard how much effect it really has. In typical cigaret smoke the smoke is nothing but ash which will settle down once inhaled even in small quantities. Vape smoke is a liquid which does not settle so easily. But for your question. It is certain that Vape smoke is containing more harmfull substances than most City air and it is therefore sth you can avoid by asking Vape smokers to vape outdors or in designates smoking areas. While it is not certain if it is less or more harmfull than second hand smoke, it is certain that it contains harmfull particles and chemicals not traditionally found in most city air.
in regards to the littering aspect of cigarette butts, people are still dumb enough to just toss these disposable vapes out wherever they want. The amount of juul pods, elf bars, and whatever else ive found in the local watersheds is INSANE! feels like i cant go a day without seeing one in a gutter somewhere. People are disgusting.
And don't forget that they often contain a rechargeable lithium ion cell, just configured to be only used once. Y'know, those things that start a lot of waste fires and are really bad to just be throwing away!
Sadly now cigarette littering has been supplemented by "disposable" vape littering. These disposable units that typically contain rechargeable lithium cells installed in such a way that they're single use!
Firstly I smoked for 54 years and the day I stopped combustible tobacco and began vaping (NOT WEEK, MONTH OR YEAR) I CEASED to cough, no longer shortness of breath and did I mention the STINK! Also I am a DIY'r (do it yourself:) meaning I make my own e-liquid and I am not alone very large community yet I know still a minority of 10's of thousands but with that said I know exactly what ingredients are in my juice. Secondly I do not use NICOTINE in my mix. Yes, I am again a small part of a community of vapors though I am sure there are thousands of us as well. I found after reading tons of forums that not one was true all saying "NO NICOTINE MEANS CHAIN VAPING". Well I found the action of hand to mouth gave the meta physical benefit of releasing endorphins (just like when you think about making love) and I get satisfaction from every vape. Do I need to say it? Yes if you don't smoke don't start vaping but if you are looking for and alternative that killed my father and many of yours vaping is a great alternative and if your a hobbyist like me it's ton's of fun!
Sid, I agree completely. If you switch from smoking to vaping a lot of good things can happen - you will probably live longer - you will have more stamina and will breathe easier - you might even be able to quit nicotine completely - you will save money - you won't need ashtrays, lighters, or other smokers accessories - your house and car will not smell like an ashtray - your windows won't have that brown tint - you will stop being a fire hazard - you will stop burning holes in your clothes and furniture
@@godofchaoskhorne5043 I figured as much. Even without being a scientist-there’s no way vaping is worse than rat poison and all the other stuff inside cigarettes.
@@ImYenaChoi yep. If vaping was so dangerous as some claim it to be, the tobacco industry wouldn't have lobbied for restricting it. They would've jumped on the bandwagon of cloud chasers instead of their 5-years-behind-in-everything-tech. At least to my understanding, heavily restricting sizes of tanks, bottle sizes of nicotine base, "leak proofing" and now heavily taxing e-liquid (at least in the EU, 200€ for a 1 liter bottle of just glycerin for example, around 10€ before the tax was applied) all hint in just one direction. Vaping isn't as bad as tobacco and the tobacco and pharma industry don't like it at all. They will rather build crappy devices that aren't fun and aren't even feasible to quit smoking to keep their users in the loop.
@@sander9951 it's actually a lot less addictive compared to cigarettes for one simple reason: the nicotine in vapes works way slower than in tobacco cigarettes. It also doesn't hit as much because vapes lack the necessary boosting chemicals that are found in tobacco products nowadays. Now I won't argue about disposable vapes and nicotine salts as that is not my field of expertise, but I assume disposables are almost on the same level as tobacco products due to all the stuff that's in them, that no one can check and no one does check. Especially the counterfeits.
Pro tip🤔whenever you hear someone say misinformation you should automatically believe the polar opposite of what they are telling you is true. This method is 100% accurate.
Personally, I've been vaping for almost 2 years now after being a cigarette smoker for nearly 15 years. It's been about a year and a half since I last had a cigarette, and I've notched down the nicotine content in the liquid I use to 0mg. Just like using patches, I went from a 25 mg salt, to 6 regular liquid, to 3, then 0. It's been a huge boon for me personally after trying to quit at at least a dozen times. It's unfortunate but I also think the pandemic helped immensely, as going out to bars/social events made my exposure to possibly bumming a cigarette to zero. I've been on 0 mg liquid for about a month now and I've been using my vape less and less. If I could say a big personal issue of vaping for me is the ease of use environmentally than cigarettes. What I mean is that it's easy to use in places that you wouldn't smoke a cigarette. I was vaping in my home all the time which was much worse for my nicotine intake than when I smoke cigarettes at the time. This was because I never smoked cigarettes inside, so it was much harder to chain smoke compared to sitting in my house chain vaping without even thinking about it.
I don't care. In my eyes i traded a habbit that would have killed me within 10 years to a less harmful habbit that i can rely on for the rest of my life. I used to be a pack a day guy, but i haven't touched a cigarette in 5 months. I'm more healthy, pleasant to be around and I'm saving a fuck ton of money a month even when I'm buying liquid and coils for two vapes regularly. I couldn't be happier.
As a 20 years smoker... vape made me stop, amen to that haha...there are long term studies that prove till now that there are no long term effects other than the addiction. About the epidemic, all the cases are related to thc vape smokers. Need to dig a little further for this kind of videos... there is a lot of harm in misinformation here dude. Keep on vaping if you were a smoker will definitely make your life better. It's not a good thing to do but the best and by far against Tabaco companies and inhaling toxins.
There is no way vapping is as bad or additive as cigarettes. Those 7k chemicals are to make cigs more additive, and by a large margin, they also make it worse for health, not to mention the tar. Nicotine outside of combustible is about as additive as caffeine. I am not saying vapes are without health concerns. The nicotine salts in products like juul are definitely bad. But the vg and pg are also in fog machine juice. My main worries are the hot vapper, potentially some flavors, and the harshness of the nicotine on the back of the throat. And, of course, developing brains.
I think it’s important to point out the problems in marketing to young people in this video. However vaping has helped tons of people come of cigarettes for good. Videos like these just make it more likely that that smoker will stay away from something that will actually help them quit.
I never smoked, but I have friends like that. They started with high nicotine vapes and slowly decreased the amount of nicotine until they didn't need it anymore. I think vaping can be a useful tool to ween people off cigarettes, but we run into the issue of multinational corporations being able to do whatever they want. So many of the issues with vaping are actually issues of capitalism and ineffective governments.
I took up vaping as a way to avoid smoking when i was hanging with social smokers. Worked a charm. Easy to not touch for months at a time when i dont need to
In terms of addiction they definitely have more nicotine so they are more addictive but scientists have said that the potential risk factor for vaping most likely wont exceed 5% of cigarettes known risk factor
You forgot to mention the new craze of disposable vape units. Vape with battery that would only reach to like 5000 to 8500 puffs and you will need to throw the whole unit (with the battery) and get a new one. That is one big environmental concern if I am not mistaken.
Yeah, we definitely could have gone deeper into disposables here. Some of these are literally only meant to last you for a night which is ridiculous considering everything that goes into making these. Apparently disposables are a lot more common than regular vapes in a lot of places now, too.
Big corporate vape is different than how vaping began. Before corps intruded the vaping scene, "Juice" was used to help people carve their addictions. "Juice" came in different strengths, basically how much nicotine was in the mixture. 1 - 100mg. If you were addicted to cigarettes and smoked a pack a day and then found vaping. Not having to deal with the smoke or smell plus having a way to keep track of your intake other than "I smoke a pack a day" helped many to quit smoking cigarettes. The intent of the OG vaping community is about providing a better alternative to cigarettes. The corporate vaping "community" is about finding a new entry to get people addicted.
Good times. Ordering some weird shit from fasttech, making my own juices with 100mg nic base which cost almost nothing. It helped me quit smoking and was worth it for sure.
When vaping first came out it worked well for me. I had smoked cigarettes for 10 years, and in the early 2010's started vaping. It did have its benefits: it was cheaper, I could breathe better, I didn't smell like smoke, I didn't have ash burns in my car and on my clothes, it was less offensive to use around other people, and I could just take a couple of puffs when needed instead of committing to smoking an entire cigarette if I just wanted a small nicotine fix. HOWEVER, the first problem I noticed was within a couple of years, the majority of people I knew who vaped used to be former cigarette smokers, then it became young kids who never smoked at all and vaping was now their introduction to nicotine which I didn't agree with. Personally, I realized I probably vape more than I smoke because I can take a puff here or there all day long in virtually any environment, while cigarettes forced me to go to a designated area and only smoke until the cigarette burned out. Do I think vaping is the lesser of 2 evils? Yes, it's definitely better to vape (if it's a reputable vape juice and device) than smoke. Yet, anyone who argues that vaping is harmless is foolish. Not smoking OR vaping is still the healthiest option and always will be.
Along similar lines, I chewed tobacco fr Age 15-24. I then switched to general snuss (water cured tobacco) from 24-28. I switched to nicotine gum and lozenges after that until 30. I ruptured my Achilles and because I have factor V Leiden (a clotting disorder) I was told no nicotine due to clot risks. Over that week I finally quit nicotine for the first time as an adult. It’ll be a year on 3/7/2023. The defeated mindset every time I would use nicotine after trying to quit and failing for years was morally defeating. To anyone stuck in that loop, the first 72 hours are kinda shitty and then it starts to get better. Sunflower seeds and a few days off of work help as well lol
You know what makes people "a lot more susceptible to cigarette addiction down the road"? Not making vaping readily available and buying hassle free (in the case of cigarettes it's pretty convenient, you can buy at every corner) and affordable.
Hey I just discovered your channel recently and I’m hooked. I love your content. I’ve been vaping for about 15 years and I did it to get off of cigarettes and for me it is been a healthier option. Up here in Canada companies are required to disclose all ingredients and I think government is doing a pretty good job of regulating it. I’m not going to say I believe it’s healthy because I don’t know that but I do know that it is much better for you than smoking cigarettes, and most of the people who have died or have come out with severe health problems due to vaping were people that were vaping THC cartridges not nicotine, anyways keep up the great videos and by the way, I’ve never seen a desktop Vape you were posting pictures of other things like bongs for marijuana and hooka pipes lol
Vaping was designed as, intended to be and is supposed to be a tobacco / cigarette cessation device. Of course, it is ALWAYS best to inhale clean air than anything else, but we cannot disregard the fact that vaping is proven to be 95% less harmful than cigarettes (as per Public Health England), and that's a fact. E-cigarettes (vapes) shouldn't come anywhere near kids or teenagers, and its production, distribution, sales and marketing should be strictly controlled, since it is an addictive substance that is still harmful, but in no way it is the "same" or "even worse" than cigarettes. Vaping is helping hundreds of thousands, probably even millions of people around the world to stop smoking that carcinogenic garbage called cigarettes.
while i encourage nobody to start smoking or vaping, they are the only thing ive found that worked for me to quit cigarettes. it doesnt help that we're either using them by way of a lot of big tobacco companies or we go to big pharma for patches, gum, and pills that dont work. it really is a lose lose scenario because everything needs to be about growth in the market
Hi, 46 years old here, I quit smoking completely about 5 years ago, and started vaping instead. I go with menthol, as that was what I was smoking. I am never going back to smoking. As an added incentive, menthol cigs are banned in the EU (I live in Denmark). I'm still vaping, but on a small, refillable form factor. I work in a high stress environment (chef) so the vape gives me short (30-60 seconds) breaks a day, to collect my thoughts. Our government has forbidden any flavouring except tobacco & menthol for vapes, to discourage youth vaping. Also, they've doubled the prices by taxing. For me, this works, and I really, really will never inhale another cigarette. I get tired of clever ppl telling me vaping is just as bad as cigarettes, to me, they don't know what they're talking about. I've chosen the lesser of 2 evils, and that's fine for me.
Both my partner and I use vaping to quite a 30+ years of smoking addiction. We both quite the vape within three months of the cigs. Vaping is the only reason why we both are not smoking now. We did try other ways years earlier, but they did not work.I think vaping should be used as a tool this way to quite and only this way. So it does have its place. I think most people that have quite using vapes do see them as a tool this way, it is the money makers that always screw us all in the end.
Even back when I was a cig smoker, I always made sure to never litter. It drives me wild when I see people just toss em out the window. They sell cup holder ashtrays at walmart for a dollar. If youre on the go, just throw the butt back in your pack. I use a vape now anyway, definitely made it easy to get off the cigarettes. I know its not harmless, but I also know alot of the studies being pushed on us were funded by big tobacco.
good info and vid as always but wanted to mention volcano hybrid vapes aren’t for the same vaping experience as ecigs. They don’t use vape juice just herb and they don’t combust the plant you put in them so there ends up being less irritants in what you’re inhaling.
I know about dry herb vaporizers for weed, it works well for tobacco too? I suppose that if you could get some natural dried tobacco and use it in a dry vaporizer then it would be much better than vapes
Totally agree. Dry herb vaporizers are really not at all similar to the vaping he's referring to in the video. it literally flower that isn't combusting. No vaporizing liquids.

as someone who quitted smoking after near 15 years of heavy smoking, the truth was SO simple. 'I should never voluntarily inhale anything but oxygen ' whether vaping is better than cigarette or vice versa, it's so meaningless argument. vaping, cigarette or whatever you do, it's just worse than not doing it. period. it's your life, so choice is also on you, but quitting won't kill you. it simply liberates you.
One of the worst things about vapes is that they don't stink and it's easy to sneak a couple of puffs in, which sounds like benefits but it means people might be vaping without fearing the stink of cigarettes, they won't dedicate a specific time and place for it, while with cigarettes the individual might decide to not smoke in public or if they know that they might be in the company of other people anytime soon, it could be because it simply stinks and they don't want to bother other people or because they might want to hide it, which also means a teen won't get caught nor do they fear getting caught as much, you could also have just a couple of puffs while with cigarettes the individual will probably decide not to waste the cigarette and finish it so you need to dedicate a few minutes for a smoke, meaning it is harder to fit in if you are busy, so while it's not as bad for you in terms of health and relationships it also means there is less pressure to quit, cut down or pace yourself.
Personally, I started smoking cigarettes in highschool, and smoked for about a year before my body literally wouldn't let me finish not even half of a stick. I would get nauseous and light headed. So I switched to vaping, which I've been doing for about 5ish years now. Me smoking and then vaping was used as a coping mechanism for dealing with abuse, and now that I am finally out of that situation and healing I am slowly going down in my nicotine intake. I tried quitting cold turkey once, but that wasn't for me. I'm currently almost done with my 6mg bottle and will be going down again once I purchase the next one. Im really looking forward to kicking this stupid addiction. When I was in school, all of my friends either smoked cigarettes or weed, or were vaping. Hell most of them were doing all of it. My friend group at the time didn't have the best life, so I get it. Hell thats why I started. But for me, smoking and vaping was never about looking cool or pushing out the biggest clouds. Even to this day I find the box mods with enormous clouds obnoxious. But I did feel cool when smoking at the 'pit' at my school, and I hate that its even a feeling to begin with. Smoking or vaping isn't cool, and I wish that more young adults and teenagers could understand that. I'm now dealing with numerous health issues at 21 and I don't know what percentage of that has to do with genetics versus my smoking habits, but I'm sure it can't be helping it either. Ive been sober for about 6-8 months, and I can't wait until I'm 100% sober (Alcohol, nicotine). Addictive genes are no fun, and my wallet will be happier when I kick this habit as well.
Vaping is 100 times healthier than smoking cigarettes. Period. It's flavored steam with no carcinogens. I've been vaping for 10 years and love it. No coughing, phlegm and nasty smell. A lot cheaper, too. Tobacco companies are the ones promoting all the negative hype surrounding it. Anyone who has given up cigarettes and started vaping will tell you their lungs feel and function 100 times better. That, in itself, is proof enough for me not to give it up for cigarettes. And no, I'm not ready to give up my nicotine addiction all the way.
Vaping regularly for two years saved me money, but it definitely affected my breathing in ways cigarettes/marijuana never did. Towards the end of be waking up at night gasping for air. When that became commonplace I stopped using the vape. Six months on I'm breathing normally again.
Nobody talks about the buzz it gives you. I don't advocate smoking or vaping and wish I never started, but that was why I smoked the occasional cigar and then completely switched to vaping. It was never to look cool, I don't care and am fairly antisocial. While it relaxes and lowers anxiety, nicotine withdrawal also causes it. Vicious circle. I strongly discourage smoking and vaping because nicotine is insanely addictive. Great video, love the channel!
I have been Vaping for 12 years now and this type of video has already been made several times I lost count. What surprises me till this day I have not heard facts of how vaping can be bad for you. It has always been a guesstimate that vaping can probably be bad and not is bad. Vaping has got me off cigarettes and alcohol because those two things go together. At this very moment tobacco and alcohol has taken a significant drop in sales and they always want to point the finger. It has ben exposed that certain videos like this are paid either by medical or tobacco entities. The UK supported caping and even doctors prescribed a vape for someone who had trouble with smoking tobacco. When it boils down to it the only thing that can be arguably bad is nicotine that its a highly addictive, but it is very similar to caffeine and they both are addictive and thin the blood. But we aren't going to say the morning cup of joe is bad for you are we? lol Uk Doctors talk about vaping is like similar to drinking coffee and I totally agree with that.
on the topic of cigarette butts being everywhere at 4:36 ... you forgot about the fact that there are also disposable e-cigarettes and vapes that add to already problematic plastic waste we produce

After struggling for so long on how to quit smoking cigarettes I found VAPING. I am 32 years old an have been smoking since I was a late-teen. For 4 year's I have been vaping and I am loving it. Started off with 18 mg nic. and now down to 3 mg nic. I did take it seriously, as it was something new and did some research to the point that I know what is going in to my body. We can all agree that it is better then smoking cigarettes, but still dangerous. I do not recommend it and you should not start vaping or smoking. ONLY if you are trying to QUIT CIGARETTES!!! My goal is to eventually stop vaping and bring down my nicotine intake to 0.
It’s like 100x less harmful than smoking, but sadly it’s still nicotine, which is just as addictive as cigarettes, but I’d much rather be onto vapes than smoking, if I had to chose.
@@DoktrDub The claim that it is 95% safer was actually found to be completely false! While still likely safer, it isn't nearly as safe as companies once tried to claim.
Grimm Green encouraged me to stop smoking and switch. I vape 4ml of 25mg saltnic a day. I feel better about myself, I feel healthier but feel I should lower my nicotine intake. I think I will quit vaping gradually. I hope the government feels the drop on their sin tax. Quick note: Vaping is not WORSE than smoking. That's what the science states.
I started smoking when I was 16 and quit smoking and started vaping when I was 23. I'm 30 now and haven't vaped in over a month. Vaped for 7 years. I liked vaping a lot more than smoking, I never felt as grossed out and sick from it. That's a big reason why I feel it's safer than cigarettes. I'm assuming the author of this video never really gave it much of a chance, if any. He's simply saying how he feels about it. Again, I vaped for 7 years so I have a pretty good idea on how it feels and I can tell you if you smoke and are having a hard time quitting, switch over to vaping and just give it a chance. To fully switch over make take a couple months. That's okay if you have to smoke a couple then do that but make the switch and you'll feel much healthier and happy you did.
I've been vaping since I was 18 and have never once thought about upping my nic on my juices or even remotely toiching a cigarette.😅 Just my experience/opinion.
It's amazing & troubling that someone can, on a global platform, get away with paltering, dissembling, misdirecting, propagating discredited disinformation, telling outright lies, and opining ignorantly while labelling all that falsehood as "truth" simply by being somewhat handsome and speaking in what seems a reasonable & balanced manner. How do you live with yourself?
I have reactive airway disorder (basically, asthma's little brother - it restricts rather than obstructs breathing) and for a while it was SO much worse when vaping came out. People would treat it as if it was totally exempt from all smoking regulations and just vape literally anywhere with no concern over the harm they were visibly causing to people around them. I went to Naka-Kon, an anime con in Overland Park, KS, and it was in a U shaped hotel with a huge hill on the third side that created sort of an enclosed space. During the break between sessions I tried to go outside but it was a literal wall of vape cloud that poured into the building anytime someone opened a door and I had to get to the top floor lobby and leave the hotel area to be able to gradually start breathing properly again. It's better now because people are gradually dropping it. For a while people were switching to the fruit or other non-nicotine flavors, but now I rarely see it at all. There was a flurry of stories that came out about people being permanently harmed by vaping even with non-nicotine cartridges which correlated with the drop-off, but also correlated with it was a bigger stance in the area that it would be restricted the same as smoking.
Seems like similar damage is done by the alcohol industry. Would love to see a push back there too. Sadly, it is so engrained in many cultures as acceptable.
I was a smoker before and the thing that helped me was Nicotinell gum. I used it for 4-5 days and I quit that too. Now it's been almost 14 years since I quit smoking. It's all about motivation and changing routine and habits. It's hard af, but not imposible 😉 So, if you want to quit, go for it man. Don't let that little thing control you. A whole ass human being controled by e-cig or cig, you don't want that.
I quit a 20 year addiction to smoking, thanks to vaping. I'm 10 months in and although I don't see any benefits, I do feel like I couldnt go back to smoking now. I'm also on the low amount of nicotine now, compared to the highs I started on. I'm also thinking of completely giving it up on my first year mark.
I want to use this video for teaching. It's fantastic. Just hoping in future you might consider using alternative modern slang to words like "shiza" or "merde" so I don't run into issues when playing this in a classroom setting. The cultural history and relevance to today and the reasons why people gravitate to these products is awesome. I want to play this alongside Standford Medical School's resources for tobacco prevention, including, "E-cig--It's just water vapor, right?" They will complement each other perfectly.
Some positive aspects to vaping. Vapes use Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG). PG is used in Nebulizers, an expensive device that doctors prescribe to be used as a breathing treatment in those with respiratory ailments. This device can be used by people of all ages. VG can be used in the same device for those allergic to PG. If it's safe enough for a child or an elderly lady with emphysema it's safe enough for me. The only difference is that vapes use atmoizers. You know it wokrs if you vape because that is why when you first start vaping you cough up a bunch of crap from out of your lungs. It actually improves lung function. Vapes do not contain tar or carbon monoxide and you're not getting tobacco that has been treated with GOD only know how many toxic chemicals. The only problem I see with vapes is nicotine. Either way you slice it it is safer than traditional tobacco.
Vaping is so much better than smoking that there is absolutely no discussion - period. In the UK the NHS recommends smokers e-cigarretes to patients looking to quit smoking. In my personal case I've switched to zero-nicotine vapes and love it! No more addiction (to nicotine) or side effects from tobacco like coughing etc...and still get the pleasure of having a "smoke" every now and then. All in all a perfect solution.
Please everybody - don't conflate Juuls, pods, and disposables with sub-ohm vaping, they are not the same. Juuls, disposables, and many pod devices have much more nicotine than sub-ohm vaping (~48mg/ml vs ~6mg/ml and often 3mg or 0mg). Plus Juuls, pods, and disposables have the most harsh chemicals and flavorings - whereas sub-ohm eliquids only have a ~3 ingredients plus a few water-based flavorings. In fact, many sub-ohm vapers DIY their own eliquids that have all pure USP lab-grade ingredients and none of the carcinogens that the old Surgeon General report has said were in all vaping products. I make my own DIY juices, my own coils out of nigh-indestructable pure vape stainless steel wire, and at the lowest nic % besides 0%. I go to the Dr. regularly and my lungs are very clear - as if I never smoked cigarettes in the past. Please sift through the lies of the several years-old online "reports" and get the real information from real vapers who know what they're talking about. The ignorant policy-makers and doomsayers are just like the anti-gun people who talk about knowing exactly how firearms operate - but have never even touched, handled, or fired one.....
There were new regulations in Canada which limited nicotine content in vapes to 2%, down from 5% (It might not seem like a lot but it really does make a huge difference) and ever since then the vaping market's been a wild west. The concept of "boosted" juice appeared and it claimed to be 2% "but feels like 5%". Turns out it was just 5% in most cases. Government cracked down on the stuff and companies started making "synthetic nicotine" which was pretty much a game changer since as per government law, synthetic nicotine was not a tobacco product, which means it was not subject to the 2% limit. The companies started selling "synthetic 2%" or "boosted 50" and for a while, they were literally the only vapes you saw. The companies seemingly shutdown one day and it seems like fake 5% is gone for good which in the end made a lot of people stop vaping. A thing that also helped a lot was the tax on vaping. Most common vapes went from 20-25$ total to about 30-35$ for only 1 to 2 weeks.
When i was a teenager, 25 years ago. Me and my friends already figured out that smoking couldn't be good for you. You're breathing smoke, just light up a piece of paper inhale that.. i mean.. it's smoke.. you choke on that stuff. But i was still stupid, got addicted and i have been vaping for a couple of years. I like it, and i'm pretty sure its less harmful for me, compared to smoking.
I've started hearing ads in podcasts for products to help people quit vaping, which considering vapes were invented to help people quit smoking, was a peak "this is the bad place" moment.
There is no long-term study that proves that is true. What's worst, the issue with vapes specifically vape juices is that, there is no international nor local standards for them. The manufacturers of vape and vape juices are free to place any chemical agent in them unlike traditional cigarettes which is primary just crushed tobacco leaves and probably menthol. You can go online or to some flea market and find various flavors of vape juices from imported and domestic manufacturers and like over 98% of them have no approval from the FDA or any health or medical board.
In Spain, old and young alike are still smoking cigarettes. Vaping is becoming more popular, but a proper cigarette seems the preference. I myself have never vaped in my life and don't intend to start. Gave up smoking 7 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did .
One of the few times I've disagreed with the videos on this channel. I agree about disposable vapes and pods, and I agree that under 18's (or even under 25's!) shouldn't have access to them, but that's about it. There's well over a decade of research on vaping and health, and whilst we don't know for sure what the very long term impact is, it's generally agreed that it's considerably safer than smoking. Nicotine itself isn't particularly harmful, no more so really than caffeine. Outlaw disposables/pods, age limit to adults only and I think it's better in everyway than smoking. Sure, be good to have more research, but after 15 - 20 years of people really hitting vaping hard, but we do have knowledge on a fair few of the ingredients too, the worst case scenario is that heavy use over a prolonged period could be cancerous. In that way it's better environmentally than smoking and on-par with the health risks. But really, with the low number of ingredients compared to cigarettes the probability it's anywhere near as bad in the long term is very small.
“And in s more potent form” I’m assuming he’s referring to the fact Juul uses nicotine salt??? Nicotine Sammy weighs much more per Mg of nicotine than freebase nicotine. This means July’s nicotine is actually less potent not more. God it’s frustrating hearing the same BS !!!
Can you imagine how horrible it would feel to lose your dad to lung cancer, and try to invent a revolutionary device to curb addiction, which then gets used for the exact opposite purpose 😳
The worst thing about disposible vapes, are the batteries used in them, most pen shaped throw away vapes use a rechargeable lipo battery, that is being used as a single use battery, which is so wastefull! I take these vapes, open 'em up, and rip the batteries out of 'em, so i can use these in other projects, like replacing the battery in a ps3 controller! I even fixed a psp street with 2 cells of those vapes, and it runs great!! I have done this replacement about 2 months ago, and it still goes strong! Is lithium technology so cheap now that they can afford it?
I teach middle school students at a K-8 school in the US and this has been such a big problem with the students. We confiscate about 1 device every week or every other week. We involve parents but half of them don't take action. It's insane! We even caught a few 4th graders (9yos) a few months back with a device!
that's legislation for you. They'd rather limit tank sizes but allow disposables that can be obtained and operated by minors a lot easier. I remember in 2016 and 2017 (before the ugly legislation in NA and the EU) there would be a LOT of adults running around with vapes but barely anyone under the age of 20 even. If you wanted to vape back in the day, you'd have to visit a shop to get a tutorial, because the devices were more sophisticated back then. And these shop owners would check age (although it wasn't required back then). Now you can just buy a knockoff-disposable from some shady shop and start right away. They took a good thing and turned it into the opposite - as always.
I was 8 when I started smoking not a common situation but it does happen and as a kid tobacco has one big attraction most of the evidence is burnt up. How many cigarettes\packets of cigarettes did you confiscate before vaping ??.
I don't know much about the cool factor, I don't think vaping or cigarettes have been considered cool. What I do know is people want nicotine. So you tell me what's they healthiest and most convenient way to get nicotine into my bloodstream? You see that is the thing people have used nicotine for thousands of years and will continue.
14:17 feels kind dismissive of a possible solution. finding a way make the people already hooked have a more environmental friendly way of doing it. ideally it's expanded on so its not that massive whatever, but it takes time. still a new market. otherwise good valid points more people should know. just felt weird to just write off the solution as not being a good one because of the size
I'm still in the process of transition I used to smoke 1 pack a day, then vaping came. It just depends on how you curve the addiction. I started with 25 MG Saltnic as for now, I have a freebase with 6 MG. 60 ML vile lasts me about 2 weeks, cotton and coil (the device is a bit costly but low maintenance, I suggest getting a Rebuildable one its cheaper. Disposable ones are shat). Its a real money saver, next year I'm planning to lower my dose to 3 MG Juice then eventually quit. Its hard but we're getting there. Tobacco companies even urge Governments to ban Vape products in some countries
Well, as far as I know, the epidemic of vaping arose only in USA, because of uncontrolled juices that contained diacetyl, THC and/or vitamin E. About regulations, UK government did a lot of research about this (vaping is 20 years old, so not as recent as you want to make it appear) and concluded that is a much safer alternative to smoking. So encourages it for people that want to quit smoking. Yorkshire cancer center and a lot of other research labs did their homework, always resulting in vaping being much safer. And vaping is not allowed (same like smoking) if you are under 21/18 years old. Teen vaping and teen smoking is sth that doesn't depend on current laws, and if one person buys a packet of cigarettes and gives some to others, you can't do the same with vaping. If you see the charts, it is true that we have much less smokers now, but it is true that this drastic change happened after 2000-s, and I think vaping has made it's contribution on that. Should we quit everything nicotine related? Absolutely! Should we vape instead of smoke? I think there is no doubt here, YES.
I've been vaping since 2012. I've vaped many different products in that time. I've worked in the vape industry. I've seen good and bad products. I've seen and used advanced products that are not aimed for those that are uninformed such as mech mods and rebuildable atomisers. If vapes didn't exist I would have continued to smoke it's that simple and I believe if they wasn't around people would simply smoke cigarettes including teens which is how I was introduced to smoking. Vapes tend to get a lots of negative press. But it's rare that I see the same about other things like energy drinks, fast food restaurants, so called health supplements. To the point many are advertised. Can you imagine making it a legal age requirement to eat at McDonald's and other such places because as we each year more and more of them are opening. In fact they even incentives youths to eat there by including toys with happy meals. If vapes are to be banned then so should everything else. Personally I believe I should be able to do as I wish. Can you imagine banning coffee, tea, alcohol, fast food, or health supplements because they aren't FDA approved. People should be free to choose.
Banning kid friendly vape flavors is always a weird thing to me; cause on the one hand we absolutely should discourage kids from vaping, however isn’t the problem more of how kids get these vapes and cotton candy pods in the first place? Should adults not be able to enjoy these flavors because kids get their hands on them? I’m not sure exactly.
how about we would heavily sanction the shops who sell to and individuals who buy vapes for kids? Make it a felony, I don't care. But we all know it's not to discourage kids from buying them, it's there to prevent more people from giving up tobacco. The "tHiNk aBoUt ThE cHiLdReN" is a huge red flag every time someone brings it up.
@@PvtAnonymous hmm idk if we should be making laws that discourage people from buying cigarettes though; like if it’s a legal substance there’s not really much we can do legislative wise to discourage people from using it apart from increasing taxes
@@Artofcarissa what is and isn't a legal substance, is determined by legislation in the first place. I honestly would outright ban cigarettes, but then again: the state earns too much from tobacco tax and the pharma earns even more from selling chemo. If you're a smoker, you're guaranteed to have medical problems along the line. Less pension to pay too if you die younger than other senior citizens. It's a win-win-win for these big players and they'd rather have a smoking population than a vaping one for these reasons. Can't make money from healthy people.
I smoked for over three decades, switched to vaping about 10 years ago, and gave up vape about 4 years ago. Now I have put on 35 pounds, so who knows which is the better choice. I know I felt better when I switched to vaping, but I was able to disconnect the nicotine addiction from the act of smoking/vaping, which is easy to do with vaping.
Here my experience with vape: i switch from regular cig to vape about a year ago and i reduce the amount of nicotine that i put in the liquid every now and then ( when i have to buy another liquid). Now is almost 2 months that i quit even the vape without any particular effort or withdrawal crisis (except insomnia for tue first 3 days 😅).. so for my situation i guess vape it works but i was committed to quit from the beginning… saluti from italy
Vaping saved me from cigarettes. I don’t think I would have been able to quit without them. They conditioned my body to accept that alternative ways to absorb nicotine was possible. This in turn played a big role when I transitioned to the nicotine lozenges. Plus after years of vaping the taste of a cigarette downright nauseated me. One point though that I always have a problem with is yes. A Juul pod contains as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes. That’s cause (at least for me) a pod was a pack. I’d smoke a pack a day and when I switched to Juul I’d smoke about a pod a day.i deff agree that my nicotine usage increased when I vapped but I feel like to those who don’t use a pod = a cig when in reality for me at least a pod was a pack
the nicotine increase is not that bad compared to all the nasty stuff in cigarettes. yes, it plays a role into the whole addiction thing but even smoking 3 pods a day (which is almost impossible since I vape literally all the time and I haven't managed to smoke more than 2 in a single day, you just don't have enough hours to take all the liquid out the pod) it still wouldn't be nearly as bad for your body than smoking a pack a day. whatever way people try to turn it around, vaping will always be the better alternative both for you and the people around you
On thing that I noticed is that vaping FOR SURE affected my cardio and breathing. I quit now but I was on and off and whenever I vaped I could definitely feel it in my lungs. It feels way better now that Ive quit. I did smoke cigarettes prior for about 10 years on and off. Then quit with vaping and now off of both. Still have a whole box of vape cartridges in my closet from years of snoking them. Waiting for when they create a vape specific recycling program lol
Did you quit vaping cold turkey or drop your nicotine level over time?
@@aaronb9630 I tapered off my nicotine over the course of a few months. The habit itself was the hardest part. The physical addiction was pretty easy to beat at that point.
Not often someone finds a "healthier" alternative and still pushes themselves to quit nicotine entirely, kudos to you. Thank you for sharing here, David!

Of the only 4 people I know who vaped all 4 of them went in with the intention of being more health conscious and eventually quitting all nicotine use.
The message is clear if you smoke, switch to vape, if you dont smoke, dont vape. good luck
Damn now i kinda understand why my dad is disgusted by cig smell after being nic free for like 15 years
Edit: ingorr my username i swear its a gta v quote 😭😭😭😭
same here! after going from ciggarettes to vaping, i dont think ill smoke a ciggarette ever again. just the thought of it disgusts me

Funny that Future Proof has not liked this comment because it dissproves their tobacco industry funded propaganda
It kind of opened up a new wave of people who probably never would’ve tried cigarettes and now are addicted to something else
big time! 🤦♂️
Smoking and drinking overall is mostly consumed because of some form of peer pressure, even if it was 100% your choice, just the sheer facts that you seen other people do it it made you curious to try it yourself.
If you never seen a cigarette or Vape or a beer bottle in your life you wouldn't be aware that you needed to smoke or drink to have "Fun" or to "Relax" you
Both are highly overrated
Maybe but what are the stats like? Tobacco has been taking in roughly 11% of people hitting age of majority as "new customers for life" as their business model for a long time. The reason they're shanking vaping is because it's killing their market. (like 90% of the issues Future Proof raised there are features intentionally introduced by tobacco companies to sabotage the market - non-BT vape companies don't do that shit)
My sister didn’t smoke at all but started vaping and def has a nicotine addiction now. She’s admitted that if it didn’t taste like mango she never would’ve started

Take a look in the mirror, sheep.
It’s the addiction that associates these things in your brain, rather than feeling “cool”
Most people over a certain age don’t smoke because it’s cool, they smoke because it’s an impulse, an addiction, and those associations of the ritual and the inhale etc, is all a part of why people smoke, it’s the same reason why vapes have actually been rising in popularity so much, it’s just like smoking, but with its own ritual and associations, delivering the same product, albiet in a much less disgusting and much less harmful manner.. like 100x less harmful and dangerous, it’s an issue with addiction rather than vaping specifically though in all honesty, just like coffee, or alcohol, etc
This, its why I still vape with only 3mg of nicotine. He also forgot to mention that nicotine itself is not much different then caffeine, yet there's not many people talking about that issue with kids or sugar for that matter.
Smokers look miserable. They've been shunned by society, forced to indulge in their habit 20 feet from every front door in America.
@@fvckingvillainsdo you have a source on that?
One positive note, my ex-husband stopped his smoking addiction with cheap e-cigarettes which he hated so much he stopped smoking in 4 weeks. It was amazing. So much of smoking is socially based. Once he didn’t have the whole pocket fire and chatty breaks going on, he mysteriously lost his desire to smoke. Go figure?
This is happening to me currently
If you are smoking socially only then you are not addicted and quiting is actually terribly easy.
It’s not really to do with anything social specifically, but rather what we associate with it, whether it’s having a smoke after dinner, going to get some fresh air alone or not, etc, it wires the addiction in your head to associate things with it.
Stop collecting alimoney freeloader
That's a pretty funny story. How long had he smoked before then? He smoked almost exclusively with friends?
I believe it starts as heavily social for the first year or two. Probably a bit of a stretch to say it is heavily socially based in general though.
To play the devils advocate, ill say that a juul pod having as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes is the whole point. A juul pod is meant to be the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes. Ive never heard of anyone vaping an entire juul pod at once
I did in like 1 hour but im very very stupid.
The thing is, you can see when a cigarette is done, you cant see when you've smoked the equivalent of 1 cigarette on your juul pod.
well thats the individuals responsibility@@cloudunknown
When I vape I always start 5 minute timer@@cloudunknown
Almost like the stupid government regulation makes things worse every time
Let me guess, it is a uniquely usa thing? With your stupid lobbyist corruption route, it is not surprising that your laws have so much loophole

The best comment of this comment section goes to you my friend. Agreed on all counts.
Facts! Believing misinformation is more harmful than ignorance.
Was smoking a pack a day but now I am on vape and rarely reaching 10 puffs a day, vaping truly helps
I’ve been vaping for nine years, and I agree with you completely.
That last sentence 👌
I can’t even tell you the bitchy people who make a face, pew, or fake cough in the presence of small vape waft. Haters and losers lol
I agree completely, the problem isn’t the vapes.. it’s the problem with addiction and kids being able to get a hold of it too easily, vaping is still countless times safer than smoking.

It can be problematic if you're getting hotboxed.... Otherwise it's not too bad.
Been a while since the comment, but I will say that Im allergic to vape smoke! Theres still chemicals in the smoke cloud (jsyk)

I figured as much. Even without being a scientist-there’s no way vaping is worse than rat poison and all the other stuff inside cigarettes.
@@ImYenaChoii think the biggest issue is that its much more addicting than cigarettes but yeah i can see why vapes would be safer.
I just always say if you smoke switch to vaping but if you don't smoke do not vape or smoke.
I think vaping should be used as a method of quitting and regulated as such, much like nicotine gum is.
Vaping got me off cigarettes. Smoked for 15 years more than a pack a day. Currently been more than 5 years cig free and 2 years vape free.
Disposable vapes are all over the place here, in the streets, parks, everywhere, they are being dumped like cigarette butts. UK

Age 15-24. I then switched to general snuss (water cured tobacco) from 24-28. I switched to nicotine gum and lozenges after that until 30.

Vaping is the only reason why we both are not smoking now. whether vaping is better than cigarette or vice versa, it's so meaningless argument.
vaping, cigarette or whatever you do, it's just worse than not doing it. period.
it's your life, so choice is also on you, but quitting won't kill you. it simply liberates you.
Nope.
One month off of my vape. I’ve been saving watching videos like this until my cravings are mostly gone lol. Thanks bro! Subscribed
Future proof health? Ok cool!

Whatever keeps me away from real cigarettes I am going to vape no matter the addiction
Quick note:
Vaping is not WORSE than smoking.
Is it safer or more appealing
Electronic cigarettes "started" about 26 years ago, so long-term consequences...
95 % less harmful than cigarettes seems a nice and healthier number
I was a smoker before and the thing that helped me was Nicotinell gum. I used it for 4-5 days and I quit that too. Now it's been almost 14 years since I quit smoking. It's all about motivation and changing routine and habits. It's hard af, but not imposible 😉 So, if you want to quit, go for it man. Don't let that little thing control you. A whole ass human being controled by e-cig or cig, you don't want that.
Is nicotine by itself proven to be harmful? Is glycerol or propylene glycol? How can then be vaping harmful?
It's important to remember that Juul is just big tobacco.
Half of this stuff Isn't true in EU
I love vaping, because of that i quite smoking after smoked for more than 6 years(20 per day)
Vaping is so much better than smoking that there is absolutely no discussion - period.
Just another example of government regulation making things worse
Im in canada and i still get 5% here
Sounds like red tape hell so glad i live in usa

When i was a teenager, 25 years ago. Me and my friends already figured out that smoking couldn't be good for you. You're breathing smoke, just light up a piece of paper inhale that.. i mean.. it's smoke.. you choke on that stuff. But i was still stupid, got addicted and i have been vaping for a couple of years. I like it, and i'm pretty sure its less harmful for me, compared to smoking.
We all have the freedom to choose. If we choose to vape or smoke while knowing its bad for you, thats okay. Its ''you're choice''.
Why are you commenting? You must be a social media addict. So why comment in the first place? @@apolon_ex
I've started hearing ads in podcasts for products to help people quit vaping, which considering vapes were invented to help people quit smoking, was a peak "this is the bad place" moment.
As long as you dont abuse it and smoke it at a normal rate then its definitely better than smoking cigarettes
The volcano vaporizer is entirely different..it heats up the air running through plant material with no glycol or additives l
Uhhh, 4 ingredients instead of 7000? I vape and mix my juice to no more than 10mg of nicotine.......I have completely stopped smoking.
Addiction is a bitch.
what's more hilarious is he died the same way
vapes do not cause lung cancer. so i dont see why the inventor would feel bad at all.
@@gfueladdict5655 well he did also smoke cigarettes for some reason. Not very smart of a dude who made a vaporizer to prevent smoking to go and smoke
@@gfueladdict5655 yeah.. hilarious
That's ridiculous. 9 year olds!!
that's legislation for you.
Confiscating mods while promoting crt & bottom surgeries?
I was 8 when I started smoking not a common situation but it does happen and as a kid tobacco has one big attraction most of the evidence is burnt up. How many cigarettes\packets of cigarettes did you confiscate before vaping ??.
You coukd just let them be
I don't know much about the cool factor, I don't think vaping or cigarettes have been considered cool. What I do know is people want nicotine. So you tell me what's they healthiest and most convenient way to get nicotine into my bloodstream? You see that is the thing people have used nicotine for thousands of years and will continue.
Unfortunately, disposable vapes are discarded everywhere on the streets where I live 😕
On the streets?!?!?! Them being disposable is bad enough but the fact that we haven't gotten past littering is ridiculous...
I'm still in the process of transition
I used to smoke 1 pack a day, then vaping came.
The question is not if the addiction is worse . It is are the EFFECTS worse. Any other question is just blurring the lines of ecigs benefits
Oh no. It is VERY popular in at least Ireland and France too. Also I see people at school sharing their vapes.
Sadly I still puff Marlboro red, Camel and flower.
I’d smoke a pack a day and when I switched to Juul I’d smoke about a pod a day.i deff agree that my nicotine usage increased when I vapped but I feel like to those who don’t use a pod = a cig when in reality for me at least a pod was a pack
the nicotine increase is not that bad compared to all the nasty stuff in cigarettes. yes, it plays a role into the whole addiction thing but even smoking 3 pods a day (which is almost impossible since I vape literally all the time and I haven't managed to smoke more than 2 in a single day, you just don't have enough hours to take all the liquid out the pod) it still wouldn't be nearly as bad for your body than smoking a pack a day. whatever way people try to turn it around, vaping will always be the better alternative both for you and the people around you
All you've done is trade one bad addiction for another. Go to a medical doctor for a plan to really kick this poison once and for all.
