    Love it great how to video Al. Funny how we like to hate and avoid catchin opossum but they do have a real nice soft fur, gonna do a couple myself this year using that orange bottle of tanning formula. Good show buddy.
    HAPPY TRAILS.

    I have two questions: 1. Do you sew any holes up before you put the tanning solution on or later? and 2. How do you get blood stains off from where they've been shot. It's not a big deal because no one will see it for the sewing project I'm using my possum for, but I haven't been able to get the blood stain off from the poor little guy.

    • @ALs-Outdoors
      @ALs-Outdoors  9 месяцев назад +1

      I sew them with dental floss. I've done it before and after. I wash any blood and dirt off before I stretch them and again before I tan them. If it's not a lot ya can just let it dry and brush it out. Dawn dish soap and or oxyclean is good at removing it.

    Very informative. Do you use alum for every process? I did a squirrel up last year with only using a brain solution

    • @ALs-Outdoors
      @ALs-Outdoors  3 года назад

      I have done hair off buckskin with just egg yolks and Murphy's oil soap. It's supposed to have the same properties as brain tanning.

    Do you wash off egg mixture after leaving it on overnight?

    • @ALs-Outdoors

      No...anything that dosent soak in rubs off while working it soft.
