Hola Ale, te contare una historia, yo soy de Honduras y alla por años 70 conoci en la capital a un profesor de guitarra, que en paz descanse tambien quien me hizo un examen de audio en piano, para entonar cualquier nota que el tocara, pero a mi me gustaba mucho la guitarra, me dijo que era solo para escuchar si desentonaba con mi voz; aprobe el examen y empeze asistir a clases de guitarra con el, quien ejercia como empirico, pero era muy bueno, en el camino de leer notas en el pentagrama fue fabuloso. Me hice muy amigo de el, y me dijo, que el dios de la guitarra para el era Cacho Tirao, y me invitaba a su casa a escuchar a Cacho T. era mi profesor un apasionado de Cacho y un dia le dije que yo conseguiria para el y para mi y en otro pais musica de Cacho, pues en mi pais no hay donde comprar musica y mucho menos de Cacho T. y tuve la suerte de salir de mi pais hacia USA. compre mucha musica de cacho casi toda su musica que tambien era el sueño mio y le lleve toda esa maravillosa musica de Cacho a mi profesor y le dio mucho sentimiento y derramo de alegria unas lagrimas. Un dia desde USA (hace 42 años) le escribi una carta a tu padre muy ilusionado, y nunca obtuve contestacion, casi estoy seguro que nunca le llego o quizas por sus giras constantes no pudo leerla. He hecho algunas amistades en Argentina y asi he podido conseguir algunas obras (arreglos y propias) de tu padre. La muerte de tu padre le afecto mucho a mi profesor, cuando le comunique ese suceso, lo mismo que me afecto la partida de ellos dos. Me he preguntado porque no se ha producido un libro con todos sus arreglos y composiciones incluso su biografia y les he preguntado a los amigos Argentinos, y me dicen que no han visto aun ese libro. UN ARREGLO DE TU PADRE....... que yo he buscado por muchos años y nunca la he encontrado es "SOBRE EL ARCO IRIS" (OVER THE RAINBOW) Y "ZORBA EL GRIEGO"Si algun dia la encuentras, enviame el costo y yo lo envio. He escrito mucho aqui porque no tengo otra manera de hacerlo, pido mil disculpas, pero la pasion de estos arreglos de Cacho nunca se podran igualar. Aclarando un poco las cosas, el tema musical se llama "La danza de Zorba" compuesta por el compositor griego Mikis Theodorakis, "Zorba el griego" es una película interpretada por Anthony Quinn, Irene Papas y Lila Kedrova, ganó tres Oscar: mejor actriz de reparto (Lila Kedrova), mejor fotografía y mejor dirección de arte, entonces Zorba el griego no es la música interpretada en este caso... "La danza de sorba" es el nombre de la canción que interpreta el músico.
Una vez viendo en tv. Un homenaje al maestro Atahualpa Yupanqi. Cacho tocó en su honor y al finalizar el maestro Yupanqui dijo con cara de asombro. "Este hombre tiene las manos llenas de dedos". Grandes los dos.!!!!

Greek music sounds so weird, exotic and complex because it has this strange Eastern feel about it, despite Greece, like Rome, being the cradle of Western culture and civilisation.the notes and chords are pretty simple and basic and very repetitive. The weird exotic Eastern feel comes from the rhythms they use, some of the strange, less commonly known modes and scales, which date back to ancient times and the complexity comes from the speed at which they play these weird rythms and note combinations not common in standard Western music eg Italian, German etc. But, the rhythm and basic simple but catchy Melody is usually spelled out for you in slow moyion, at the start and then it speeds up with each iteration of it. I think this is because a lot of this music is meant to be danced to, though not our Western idea of dancing eg with a partner, as their dances often tell a story or celebrate something etc, in groups, lines, circles etc, as a community. So, the slow music at the start gives dancers the chance to get the steps tight so they fit the musical rhythm the musicians lay down.Once they get it, the music speeds up and they have to keep doing the correct steps in time with it. In Spanish flamenco music, which also has weird rhythms and strange exotic scales etc, influenced by Eastern cultures, the relationship between dancers and musicians is very unusual.Unlike in standard Western eg Italian music, where dancers dance to a rhythm the musicians set, in Flamenco, the dancers tell the guitarists what rhythm they must play, using the beats they beat out with their footsteps. It is very strange but this weirdness is what gives it it's exotic appeal and character that engages you emotionally, if you are into exotic cultural experiences.I like to understand how and why it engages us emotionally and can fire us up, why is looks so passionate, spectacular, colourful etc. I notice that as soon as westerners who like such tunes try to play them Western style ie not so weird and exotic, they suddenly sound all wishy washy and lose all their fire and passion, all their fascinating, intriguing quality. Strange. A similar ghastly result happens when certain Mediterranean ethnic groups who love Anglo rock'n' roll, try to to play it in their own cultural style. It simply will not translate and sounds awful ie "we of rock".Ever heard Greek rock'n'roll? You wouldn't want to. It is dreadful. But Greek music played Greek style is fine. It can translate into some very Southern Italian styles eg Sicilian, but it just ends up as a "pretty song", pleasant enough, but devoid of all the exotic complex rhythmic and other interest elements of its original ethnic form. I prefer to hear world music in it's pure, original ethnic form, not adapted to suit the tastes and ears of other cultures. It is a bit like my distaste for multicultural my mongrelised foreign cuisines in Australia. If I order a Chinese dish, I expect it to be pure Chinese culinary culture, even if it involves eating rice paddy field raised rats or whatever they eat. I don't want it "Australianised" to suit Anglo tastes. If I order an Aussie meat pie with sauce, I expect it to be a fair dinkum Aussie pie, not some Indian curry pie or some Italian bolognaise pie topped with Italian sauce, instead of genuine Aussie tomato sauce. Similarly, I hate it when Aussies try to make Italian pizzas etc and stick pineapple on top or serve spaghetti with sweet Aussie style tomato sauce, when the Italian kind contains no sugary sweetness. Aussie sauce on spaghetti cooked with anything other than pure virgin olive oil is absolutely foul.I refuse to eat it. These are some of the aspects of "multicultural mongrelisation" I detest, not the exotic cultures and people themselves, which are fine if kept pure and authentic ie by keeping them separated, so they retain their cultural purity and integrity. Instead of becoming this one big boring, ugly multicultural mess, devoid of any semblance of civilised culture in any shape or form and little better than feral beasts running amok on the streets of Sydney and Melbourne, which were once so fine, populated by a better breed of immigrant, from many cultures, but still retaining their racial and cultural purity and integrity which we could all share, if interested. Unlike now, which is so ugly and dangerous, too.

Aclarando un poco las cosas, el tema musical se llama "La danza de Zorba" compuesta por el compositor griego Mikis Theodorakis, "Zorba el griego" es una película interpretada por Anthony Quinn, Irene Papas y Lila Kedrova, ganó tres Oscar: mejor actriz de reparto (Lila Kedrova), mejor fotografía y mejor dirección de arte, entonces Zorba el griego no es la música interpretada en este caso... "La danza de sorba" es el nombre de la canción que interpreta el músico.

Greek music sounds so weird, exotic and complex because it has this strange Eastern feel about it, despite Greece, like Rome, being the cradle of Western culture and civilisation.the notes and chords are pretty simple and basic and very repetitive. The weird exotic Eastern feel comes from the rhythms they use, some of the strange, less commonly known modes and scales, which date back to ancient times and the complexity comes from the speed at which they play these weird rythms and note combinations not common in standard Western music eg Italian, German etc. But, the rhythm and basic simple but catchy Melody is usually spelled out for you in slow moyion, at the start and then it speeds up with each iteration of it. I think this is because a lot of this music is meant to be danced to, though not our Western idea of dancing eg with a partner, as their dances often tell a story or celebrate something etc, in groups, lines, circles etc, as a community. So, the slow music at the start gives dancers the chance to get the steps tight so they fit the musical rhythm the musicians lay down.Once they get it, the music speeds up and they have to keep doing the correct steps in time with it. In Spanish flamenco music, which also has weird rhythms and strange exotic scales etc, influenced by Eastern cultures, the relationship between dancers and musicians is very unusual.Unlike in standard Western eg Italian music, where dancers dance to a rhythm the musicians set, in Flamenco, the dancers tell the guitarists what rhythm they must play, using the beats they beat out with their footsteps. It is very strange but this weirdness is what gives it it's exotic appeal and character that engages you emotionally, if you are into exotic cultural experiences.I like to understand how and why it engages us emotionally and can fire us up, why is looks so passionate, spectacular, colourful etc. I notice that as soon as westerners who like such tunes try to play them Western style ie not so weird and exotic, they suddenly sound all wishy washy and lose all their fire and passion, all their fascinating, intriguing quality. Strange. A similar ghastly result happens when certain Mediterranean ethnic groups who love Anglo rock'n' roll, try to to play it in their own cultural style. It simply will not translate and sounds awful ie "we of rock".Ever heard Greek rock'n'roll? You wouldn't want to. It is dreadful. But Greek music played Greek style is fine. It can translate into some very Southern Italian styles eg Sicilian, but it just ends up as a "pretty song", pleasant enough, but devoid of all the exotic complex rhythmic and other interest elements of its original ethnic form. I prefer to hear world music in it's pure, original ethnic form, not adapted to suit the tastes and ears of other cultures. It is a bit like my distaste for multicultural my mongrelised foreign cuisines in Australia. If I order a Chinese dish, I expect it to be pure Chinese culinary culture, even if it involves eating rice paddy field raised rats or whatever they eat. I don't want it "Australianised" to suit Anglo tastes. If I order an Aussie meat pie with sauce, I expect it to be a fair dinkum Aussie pie, not some Indian curry pie or some Italian bolognaise pie topped with Italian sauce, instead of genuine Aussie tomato sauce. Similarly, I hate it when Aussies try to make Italian pizzas etc and stick pineapple on top or serve spaghetti with sweet Aussie style tomato sauce, when the Italian kind contains no sugary sweetness. Aussie sauce on spaghetti cooked with anything other than pure virgin olive oil is absolutely foul.I refuse to eat it. These are some of the aspects of "multicultural mongrelisation" I detest, not the exotic cultures and people themselves, which are fine if kept pure and authentic ie by keeping them separated, so they retain their cultural purity and integrity. Instead of becoming this one big boring, ugly multicultural mess, devoid of any semblance of civilised culture in any shape or form and little better than feral beasts running amok on the streets of Sydney and Melbourne, which were once so fine, populated by a better breed of immigrant, from many cultures, but still retaining their racial and cultural purity and integrity which we could all share, if interested. Unlike now, which is so ugly and dangerous, too.

Em 2021 assistindo mais uma vez e chegando a conclusão depois de assistir dezenas de violonistas tocando Zorba o grego , concluí esta é a mais perfeita , com o magnífico Cacho Tirao .
