I have filmed hundreds of Greek wedding and christening receptions and the dancing often ends with this song. The Greek dance to this song is incredible!
Hearing this played so accurately (spot on timing, rhythm, build in speed and emphasis) is just awesome. So many guitarists put the accents in the wrong place or play some of smaller quick parts too fast and end up having to “relocate” the position. Perfect.
Yeah I tried to learn this recently, and I can say that it is a LOT harder than it first sounds, even when it's fairly slow it is actually quite awkward to accent correctly, this version is pretty much perfect
Love this version of Zorba! Great job Alejandro (Aléxandros)! Greetings to our Greek brothers and sisters. This song changed my life when I first heard it on a Greek passenger ship on a voyage from Australia to Greece back in the 1960s. We danced and sang and drank ouzo every day. I became a lover of Greek culture and have visited Greece several times.
That is simply one of the most incredible performances I’ve ever seen and heard. Zorba with all its parts played on guitar by one person. Mind blowing. This is going on my iPod. I am now a fan. So young....so talented.
