Maybe it was allready mentioned, but G.A.M.M.A. has an optional mod; which is called "NPCs cannot see through foliage".
Which category is that? I'ts not in optional.

Works pretty well for me so far, I must admit I just started playing Stalker though haven't gotten to Red Forest just yet but I've played everything below Garage to death I've been shot through grass only a handful of times in all my hours. When playing with it toggled in the settings the difference was definitely felt, I could play so much more stealthier and tactically. As for it being the same in Red forest I couldn't answer truthfully but I'd imagine it'd be the same.

Those are indeed watchmen from metro, but in stalker they are called lurker. It was actually a cut mutant from the original builds of SoC, and when some of GSC left and made 4A games, they used some unused assets from stalker in metro 2033 including the lurker

better yet there is cut mutant in anomaly called biblotekar. thing can survive 6 gauss rifle mags.

there is a mod that stops enemies from seeing through foliage, at the very least its part of alternative options in the gamma modpack

It's interesting the roll playing part in Anomaly... As a Sandbox you can do whatever you want... So, my character, somehow manage to have a regular life in the zone...
He arrived looking for goods, money, and to just have an adventure... But, after witness all the horrors of the zone, he decided to join duty to start killing mutants and all of that...
And that's his life, get some missions, kill some bandits, mercs, freedomers, mutants, go back for the reward... Buy food, meds, ammo, and start all over again...
A regular survivor in the Zone, trying to make his living, and to left a little help in the way...

Hey Custer, I wanted to share some positive feedback with you again, and also ask a question.
Great video, and I'm really excited to have some continuity for Stalker as opposed to how we've previously seen only segments from your different saved games. Both styles have their merits, and I am simply pleased to see you try something different.
I love the aspect ratio of your videos when you letterbox the video, or however it is you make the image smaller with black borders. I, and surely many others, watch your videos on my phone. Most phones being made now have larger screens with an ultra wide (21:9) screen. I don't expect, by any means, for you to go out and start gaming in widescreen because of this comment.
However, could you maybe consider keeping an eye out for a deal on a widescreen monitor so that you can maybe give it a try and see how you like it, and how your viewers overall enjoy it?
Just an idea, and great work regardless. JackFrags recently tried the thing with the widescreen, and on mobile at least, the end result was far superior to normal - normal being Fullscreen with black borders on left and right. He gave me the idea, and I thought it worked great, wanted to share.

Hey dude, i dont make them smaller with black borders, i simply play 16:9 like 80% of players out there ahahah. I will definitely consider getting a ultra wide for my next build but thats a bit far on the horizon, cuz it looks bad when you are watching from a normal resolution, at least on the pc.
I did saw the jackfrags video and while it looks awesome on mobile, not so great for the normal screens.

Was a little disappointed this wasn't an EFP or gamma play through but with the much shorter episodes it works.
Went for looks and basic mods. I will do another one when EFP 4 comes out
@@CusterPlays Yeah probably a better idea this is when I will try efp again playing gamma at the moment as it is much more up to date with most popular mods.

Why do you people always choose the worst modpack out there, I bet you won't last till ep5 before your game shits itself from the crashes, only usable modpacks for Anomaly are EFP and Gamma.
Hopefully will, if not il transfer the saves and see what i can do, this one just looks too good not to do a series on it
@@CusterPlays Transfering saves won't work lol and I wonder wht looks so good about it, it's just another generic modpack with BaS and other popular addons, except its all piled in one gamedata and will make you crash, if you mean the graphics part, there's ways to make your game look actually good instead of using a shitty reshade and 300% of bloom.
Heya, nice video man. You really put some honest work and effort and it is brilliant. Btw, regarding the tall grass issue. There is a file called m.stalker.ltx which governs stalker npc behavior. In that file there is a line called transparency_threshold or smth which controls how visible you are trough the grass, reeds, leaves and etc. Changing it's value to a higher one should solve the problem of enemy NPCs basically wallhacking you

There’s this one mod that gets rid of the pda messages from your screen so it’s only available on your actual pda. Gets pretty immersive.

Having the hardest time downloading the new EXP mod pack. New to modding any pointers?
could you make an updated Expedition install tutorial? me and many other have issues with it.
Previously, in 1.2 it worked well, but now there is a part 1 and 2 download, and it just doesn't work, even with 7zip.
There seems to be issues with the sky, and the watchdogs filter makes everything too bright now.
I hope you can help us man.
How does your game look really good and run smoothly? For some reason mine always looks like shit and runs poorly. I can run Tarkov fine but my STALKER seems to have problems. Any idea what i could do?
Fam I got into a FAT ass firefight in the dead city. I was surrounded like crazy and was stuck between the security folks I think and a mf controller🤣
All I had was a Kar98k with no scope and 172 bullets, 4 grenades, and some bandages.

It still baffles me it's not default one, even though these modpacks contains a lot of addons and fixes...

21:45 I'm sure you probably know this, and you just didn't want to do as much menu micromanaging, but for anyone who doesn't know: The patches worn by the various factions are basically a form of currency. Most can be traded to factions leaders as a sort of headhunting quest, and a few can otherwise be sold for quite a bit of money. So "always" get as many patches as you can. To that end, the suits worn by dead stalkers most often have a patch on it, in addition to whatever is in their inventory. If you hover your cursor over the suit, it will tell you in the pop up which faction the suit belongs to. If it says [unknown] then it doesn't have a patch. If the patch has already been torn off, it will tell you in the same window. If you don't see either of those, but instead it just states a faction, then you need to take the suit into your own inventory, close the loot menu, open your backpack, right click the suit, and tear off patch. Then you can reopen the loot menu, and put the now patchless suit back on the corpse. (Depending on how your item despawn settings are configured, it can be better to return junk to the corpse rather than just dropping it in the world, where it might stay for an extended period of time.) All of that takes maybe 2 or 3 seconds, but all the opening and closing of menu's doesn't look great when trying to make a cinematic video like this, which is why I assume he didn't do it there. But for anyone actually playing this, it's a good point of practice to always check suits for extra patches.

Hi Custer! Thanks for presenting this game in your videos! Stalker Anomaly 1.5.1 - is actually standalone game which incorporated a huge compilation of mods/improvements to the original Stalker: Call of Pripyat, and the Stalker community is considering this game (or mega-mod) to be probably the best open-world solution of Stalker series. And, The Anomaly also has 3 built-in story lines from previous Stalker games (Shadow of Chernobyl, Call of Pripyat, etc.)

I highly encourage folks to play through the original 3 games BEFORE playing Anomaly. They are cheap to buy and the gameplay is essential STALKER experience.
Just slap on some graphics overhaul mods and play the original story lines. They are awesome as just the vanilla gameplays themselves!

EFP has a mod where enemies can't see through bushes. Try to transfer it over. I have personally never tryed to see if it would work so let me know.

Its from the modpack. They wanted factions to have realistic loadouts.´
The shotgun was really lucky, most bandits have crappy shotguns or pistols, but military or mercenary have well kept weapons and ammo, as they should have!

That said I really appreciate the editing, nice to see someone playing stalker without having to sit through fourty minutes per video of them just sprinting from place to place.
Yeah the early game is not fun to watch (for me anyways) so it was a bit tough to record this one and decide what to show and what not to show.
Glady, from here on out, it should be a lot better with more guns, more challenging fights and on cooller locations!

Nice, couldn't wait to see this series. I hope you have the patience to finish it. I have to say i was hoping you'll be using a modpack with a bit more rpg elements, like GAMMA. But you're only including highlights so it's not that important. Also, i know there is a mod which makes npcs unable to see through foliage (i think both EFP and GAMMA are using it), it might be a bit too overpowerd in some situations but vanilla settings for this are just dumb, they headshot you from a mile away through 3 rows of trees and bushes.
Lmfao, yeah, it is what it is. I will be using EFP V4 on my next one tho, so dont worry :)

@CUSTERPLAYS, 20:30 idk if there is a mod for that but in EFP (Escape from Pripyat) NPCs dont see through bushes, id have to play again to see if it has the same effect with tall grass though
