- Benjamin Bartlett - "Islands of Green" from the BBC TV miniseries "Walking with Dinosaurs" soundtrack. This song at the beginning of the episode "Cruel Sea" introduces us to Oxfordshire, England, 150 million years ago, when it was a chain of tropical islands sitting in a warm, shallow sea.
this music is somehow so relaxing yet exactly captures the relaxation of a prehistoric world filled with peaceful creatures, but also violent ones.
This piece perfectly covers the wonderful, cautios atmosphere of the series. A masterpiece.
This track is such a masterpiece...
What a beautiful soundtrack... I've been looking for it forever!
Stunning beautiful and emotive, even after all these years...
I'm noticing that there is a lot music related to the final episode that didn't actually get to appear on the show.
-Tha Ankylosaurus: completely unused, unless you count the pitched up version that plays during the Postosuchus death
-Deadly Nightscape: only plays the beginning and the end of the track during the baby Torosaurus hunt
-Islands Of Green: barely the first minute of this track plays during the presentation of the Upper Cretaceous flora
-Tyrannosaurus: some parts of the track plays during the Anatotitan hunt, the mating and the Tyrannosaurus Death. More or less, 50% percent of the track remains unused
It's weird cause they feel nostalgic as if they were in the show. This track is such a comforting thing for me. Love playing when I'm in the Gondwanan rainforest here in Tasmania.
Brilliant music
Perfection...
Very peaceful and calm, which I really like
Nastalga strikes again!

Except for Cuel Sea
This track actually appeared in Death of a Dynasty. Either way, it's still absolutely fantastic.
Nikolas Moore it didn't
Actually, it was present, however briefly. ruclips.net/video/LHNFGO6_DJY/видео.html
The segment is introduced at 1:20, and the music starts at 1:40.
Marcos P.M. Penteado okay, but that hardly counts. What matters is when it debuted
@@Grand_History I´m sorry to say, but it would seem as if the uploader´s description is incorrect- spliced excerpts of "Cruel Sea" are used instead of "Islands of Green" at the beginning of the "Cruel Sea"episode. I couldn't find any other potential parts of the piece throughout the rest of the episode. f you find manage to find this piece there, please let us know.

@@Grand_History The title "Islands of Green" is in reference to the pockets of vegetation between the lava flows of "Death of a Dynasty".
From the "Death of a dynasty"... i remember i was a 8 years old kid, it was my favorite episode ... When the meteorite killed the dinosaurs i cried...
P.S I guess the 1 dislike is from the meteorite?
The other two are the scientist doctor opthalmosaurs
@@t.wcharles2171 ahh I see you came from Lapwing Films The Cereal Sea lmao
@@theotheseaeagle correct you are.
"There are still islands of green between the barren lava flows. In the warm, moist climate of the late Cretaceous, the vegetation has transformed. Instead of conifers, broadleaf trees now fill the canopy. Driving this quiet revolution among the plants, is the remarkable evolution of flowers."
Still one of my favorite scenes from this incredible series, even after all these years. Anyone else think that "Islands of Green" is underappreciated?
This is worthy of John Barry. Other tracks from the score sound kind of like Bernard Herrmann
