      I saw them on the Califronia tour in Omaha when I was eighteen and it was one of the craziest shows I’ve ever seen. They were all dressed like they were going golfing except for the sax player who was wearing green pj’s with the butt flap and a gigantic sombrero wrapped with chili pepper Christmas lights.

    • @Sean-fv4wi
      @Sean-fv4wi 3 месяца назад

      @@dagtheking5739 Exactly. But I hardly ever skip songs anyway. It has to be really bad for me to skip it. Then again I don't waste my time on average albums. But if an average song on an album I enjoy comes up, I listen to it anyway, cos songs often hit in a different way depending on mood, etc. Sometimes something I normally think is average, I might enjoy more on a particular day. I think many people don't give music enough of a chance to sink in these days, the way music is consumed.

    The no space between songs on self-titled comes from the idea that these guys grew up during the cassette tape days. Trevor said in some interview long ago that the silence between songs is the worst cover song ever. So they filled it with nonsense. It was my favorite cassette tape in my Walkman. So fun!

    What I like about Mr Bungle is the fact that I don't really know what is my favorite album, and it changes all the time, I heard them for the first time when I was about 17, and 15 years later these albums still manage to excite me.
    Right now I'm on the Disco Volante hill, it's just so insanely creative and unique but also hit hard AF.

    The skit before Girls of Porn was from a movie. Billy Gould from FNM actually told Patton about the porn movie with a character named Mr. Bungle in it. So they put the skit before the song. The person shitting wasn't Patton. I forget which band member exactly. But it was one of the band members taking a shot at Patton. Who , at least was , at the time a fecalpheliac. 1) California - legit a 10/10 record for me; underrated, overlooked, and under-appreciated.
    2) Disco Volante - 8.5; a grower that never stops growing.
    3) Mr. Bungle - 7.5; the prevalent interludes drag it down a bit, but it’s solid otherwise.
    4) Raging Wrath - 6.5; it’s a fine thrash metal album but an unavoidable disappointment for not being the return fans all want, and it’s also a bit too long. “Eracist” is a major bop with a great chorus, though.
    Same ranking as the one in this video, funnily enough.

    I think each release is better than the last (minus raging wrath but technically it was originally made before self titled) but my favorite is disco Volante just because of how balls to the wall chaotic it is. I also love it’s eerie atmosphere and I actually really love the bends, I just wish the segments transitioned into eachother to create better flow. Self titled was my favorite for a while until after I graduated and I started to get sick of it from overplaying it, it’s amazing but it’s really bloated and can get tedious. (genuine question) if the lyrics in self-tilted are edgy, what do you consider nuanced? or is it the use of shock value that’s tired through-out the track list, so after a while they have no effect but to slightly gross out the listener?
      but emphasis on the nuance question, I got curious for some reason and the thought won’t leave my head.
