No problem, I'm really glad you enjoyed this weeks video. 😃 I certainly felt great after filming this one. Some of the fastest trains I've ever recorded.
I agree Joel, its a nice combination! The Eurostars in this video were some of the fastest trains I have ever filmed.. although its not the fastest I've filmed since 😃
The Waverley Station in Edinburgh is a personal favourite of mine, even if I'm not catching a train I like to just walk through it. I think I read somewhere it has the worst air quality in Edinburgh but I love the place.❤
Why aren't the stations at Stratford, Ebbsfleet, and Ashford, all simply renamed 'HS1' or 'High Speed' after their first names? None of them provide continental travel now.
RUclips just recommended me this video. I've never been to your channel.... I greatly enjoyed this video, went through your others, and like what you've done and produced... also like your effort with thumbnails too. Subscribed!
Thanks Rheilffordd, glad you have you along for the journey, RUclips obviously knew you'd enjoy! As you said, I put a lot of effort into my videos and I'm really happy that you recognise that. I try not to overproduce my thumbnails but a lovely bright thumbnail that 'pops' helps to draw the eye. 😃
@@StarlifeStudios yh, I wasn't 100% sure it was you but now that I saw me in your vid I went back through my footage and found you (im the guy at the front at about 10:50 in your vid)
@@StarlifeStudios Exactly! I hope they do not, especially for some of the remaining 373s have been refurbished. But from what I know is that the 374s are more reliable to run their services, whereas the 373s are too expensive to maintain. Not to mention that these units are originally built to run with the 3rd rail, along with the overhead current collection. It would definitely be a shame to see them go for sure...
@@StarlifeStudios I think the rise makes the train look so much cooler! I commute into London via KGX and now I'm going to have to go and sit at Stratford for a while and watch the trains fly by!
A suggestion for a video: you should go to Manors station, Newcastle upon Tyne, you get a lot of trains going through to Newcastle Central (When I was there today, I was waving at an lner driver and he gave me a honk and a wave!)
Mine too Trains And Aviation. I've recently spoken to some staff from Eurostar and those 373s are the most reliable of the fleet! 😃 (another one at 13:21 too)
I hope to but it will depend on whether the stock will change or I can include some diversions, I try not to repeat the same videos too closely. I’ll have to keep an eye on it.
I’ll keep my ear to the ground about it but it’s normally weekends with Grand Central and LNER being the obvious two affected. I can’t see anything planned within the next two months but they’ve appeared later than normal recently.
I’m a big fan of all the high speed trains used on this route although the 395s are a little forgotten because other Hitachi units have become more common. Thanks though 🙂
Great video there of HS1 👀😎👍🏽🎉🎉 What an awful, concrete grey, soulless station that is 😧 Typifies modern day railway buildings and stations…all concrete and glass 😟🇬🇧
Highly recommend it Pennine Wanderer, the 395s are really regular too so it’s ideal to travel to/from London. I haven’t heard anything about these 373s going just yet but with a lot of small fleets basically ear marked for withdrawal next year (91s). It wouldn’t surprise me.
Nothing confirmed fully yet on the 91s but LNER have been avoiding expensive exams for the locos for a few months. I wouldn’t expect these reports to be wrong.. they haven’t been in the past.
@@StarlifeStudios I spoke to a driver in around july and he said they were here to stay for a couple more years but I dont know wheather that was true but I am hoping that they are! I dont think they will keep them for much longer though.
Hello, Ebbsfleet is a particularly bad example of what HS1 stations are like. This is especially the case since that station is split and is difficult to capture everything with good sight lines. I don't currently have plans to film at Ebbsfleet but more likely Gravesend.
I don't believe so, there tend to be a few common runs like 9031 and 9036 but it can be really random since both 374 and 373 can work in place of each other. Stratford International station isn’t much to see except Eurostar trains passing by at high speed and Southeastern Highspeed trains that do stop at Stratford International.
I've been planning this one for a little while but I realised I needed an hour or two extra to catch some 373s. Despite being a lot of the same, these are some of the fastest trains I've ever recorded.
Hi Adam, I usually have three methods of gaining numbers. 1. Focus on the train number or try to catch the last 3 numbers of a coach number and say them at the end of your video (your eyes are better than cameras!). 2. If you didnt get the number, you can use VLC player to view individual frames as long as its a bright(ish) day. 3. If all else fails, Realtimetrains will show some train numbers if you know which service you video'ed. I usually use two of these together to increase my confidence and occassionally all three. If you having issues at speed, I would definitely learn where the numbers are on the side and (as crazy as it sounds) move your head at the same time helps! Hope this helps.
@@StarlifeStudios Thank you so much, i'll try these out, it's always the middle train of either 377s or 378s which cause me the biggest pain to guess by eye!
