I go against the flow and kind of like them, but as an American who has never gone to the UK and thus never rode these trains, so my opinion is based off of train reviews, Wikipedia articles, and descriptions. Though when I come to the UK I might take one of these trains to Oxford and I’ll find out for sure. I might also like them because they look nice
I’d say that they’re nice trains - I actually find the seats on they gwr sets quite comfy - It’s just a shame that they are limited to 125mph when they are capable of 140
Love what they’ve done to Reading! The station and building looks phenomenal! Specially those new overhead wires. Another awesome vid! Thanks for posting up! Great work 💯💯💯💯
Reading railway station is a major transport hub in Reading, Berkshire, England. It is on the northern edge of the town centre, near the main retail and commercial areas and the River Thames, 36 miles (58 km) from London Paddington. Reading is the ninth-busiest station in the UK outside London, and the second busiest interchange station outside London, with over 3.8 million passengers changing trains at the station annually. The station is managed by Network Rail and is served by four train operating companies: Great Western Railway, CrossCountry, TfL Rail and South Western Railway.
@@StarlifeStudios yes I think most people miss the HST’s 😟 It was always daft building different size inter-city fleets..only the DfT that claim to run but really know nothing about our railways, could come up with a solution like that - The IEP project 🙄🤡 Factor in that some units have been out of service for a while now with these cracks (e.g. 800026) plus the extra time taken each day to check these cracks on all the units and quite often long distance GWR services are left short formed 🤔 The sterile office style interior and rock hard seats was also the genius work of the DfT 🙄🤡 I’d possibly like these AT300 units more if they were fitted with a better interior, more comfortable seats and they were all 9 coach units, so you were never left shoe-horned into a full and standing 5 car set 😟
How about a look from the end of platform 2 at Stockport looking towards Manchester? - Would get great view of trains coming straight at you over the viaduct, quite a few freight trains, lots of Pendalinos, voyagers, trains going all over country from here
greetings from a new subscriber, love train videos from various stations, Reading is certainly a big one, visited Reading just the other week, nice place for photos
Thanks for stopping by and supporting me Joe. I liked this station and despite the dull winter weather, it proved to be good for variety. I’m glad you enjoyed 😃
Depends how far-a-field you want to go - Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads are great for terminating trains; Reading, Newport and Exeter are all great for variety. If you go further, Plymouth and Dawlish are nice. Have fun 😃
I like what Reading railway station looks like to how it was before the upgrade. And maybe GWR could inherit the other 3 Class 387/3s from c2c to be used on Reading-Newbury shuttle. And the Class 769 should be in service to be used on Reading-Gatwick Airport & Redhill.
If the lighting was replaced and the seats replaced on a class 800 in my view they could become really good trains. Still nothing beats the FLIRTS though.
I have just started to film trains. In fact, some of my stuff is filmed in Reading. I am just looking at channels so I can learn the best means by which to film. Thank you.
You've got some excellent stations in Reading. I recommend both Tilehurst and Reading West for freight especially on weekdays. If I can give you one little tip for videos its this: Don't ignore audio, bad sound such as wind or poor quality will put your viewer off more than bad video. Do your research and find what works best for you. Have fun 😃
Hello Will, I use a website called realtimetrains.co.uk. This allows you to obtain details of the train, its origin and destination. All it takes then is to line up what you saw and which service it was running. Hope this helps!
Many complains have been made to GWR through the h & s and customer focus at the slow rate of change for disability customers. As an example the internal layouts on the Paddington to Hereford train remains unchanged after been told they must change the internal layouts for disabled people. This includes... Clear labelling to stop NON DISABLED PASSENGERS sitting in disabled seats leading to delays. Black and Grey check colouring of disabled seats. Disabled seats are those immediately inside the carriage entrance. GWR need to remove any seats for the disabled bizzarlely further inside carriages. GWR also must apply common sense to layouts. Disabled seats MUST be placed near to disabled toilets not in different parts of the train. It is not clear how a blind person would ever find a toilet several cars away down a long train. Disabled seats cannot be booked as legislation require tem to be available for a severely disabled person at all times through railway personel. The operating companies are fully responsible for these failed layout decisions. It would appear that common sense is not that common in the supply chain.
What are your thoughts of the 800/802s? Love or Hate?
Thanks for watching and have a great Easter!! 🐰🐣

They’re alright visually. Internally they are worse than my food waste bin.
800s and 802s look awesome!
1 reason that I don’t like: The diesel engine that turned on/off with the shaking seats inside the Hitachi IETs
I’d say that they’re nice trains - I actually find the seats on they gwr sets quite comfy - It’s just a shame that they are limited to 125mph when they are capable of 140

AWESOME! It’s about time we get to watch Reading.
Absolutely! A lot has changed since I was here in 2015! 😂
OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE GWR MAINLINE FOR SO LONG

I wonder what that little red splatter was on 800 309 🐦🐦🐦
Certainly a busy location. Plenty of freight as well. Nice video 👍🏻

I'm surprised at how many 5-car units on long-distance trains are running around. Oh how I miss HSTs :(
@@StarlifeStudios GWR ordered too many 5 cars

What is the meaning of the triangles at the middle of the platform? (near the lift)
Awesome video and I hope you had a great Easter bank holiday tomorrow!
Class 165/1 is only 3 carriage set. Class 165/0 is the 3 carriage set here.
I like the GWR livery
Reading is a fantastic station! I passed there on my way to Paddington and i did see some nice SWR and GWR trains!
Very nice video at Reading! 👍
Thank you 😃

great video
Why do the 800 family make those clicking sounds on the doors whilst that depart - I heard the same sounds on LNER sets too
Thanks BPL_North :)
Great video as always👍
Thanks again ENC! Hope you had a great Easter.
I did thanks, hope you did too😀
Awesome compilation! Best regards from Croatia.
Thanks for all your recent comments Martin, your support is much appreciated! 😃 Kind regards from your friends in the UK! 🇬🇧
Great video, I thoroughly enjoyed that
Thanks 👍🏻
1:32 u can see a SWR rain I never knew they went there
Well, Reading should be in the west of the country. It's called South *Western* Railway which runs in the south & west of the country.
Yea, SWR operate a service from London Waterloo to Reading via CJ, Richmond, Twickenham, Ascot, and Bracknell.
Good video as always star⭐️🤩

Very beatiful video! Greetings from Italy
Thank you very much Nico! 🇮🇹 🇬🇧

A fine job done, great video indeed.
Many thanks James! 😃

Where is your next station
How do you know where all the trains are going? Do you use a tracking app/website. I would love to know what it is as I'm a bit of a train geek!

I can hardly watch long videos.
Go to settings and up the speed to 2 😏
That doesn’t make much of a change, and I don’t get to Get a good idea of the video
There are lots of IETs in this one Ben, if you only watch one part - this is my favourite: ruclips.net/video/oklTfHKy1cI/видео.html 😃
