I believe the french budget highspeed service (Ouigo I believe) considered using Stratford international as a terminus for low cost euro tunnel services but I believe Eurostar had a paddy about there being other competitors on the line 🤷🏻♂️
The little amount of 373s is because of the fleet's status: 15 of the 37 BR 373 sets were scrapped, 4 were preserved, 10 are stored, and 13 are in service/refurbished.
That's not correct. There are actually still a few 373's still out and about for Eurostar and continue to operate services. I think they will be 100% gone by 2020
The 395s going to Ramsgate which is right, but on the destination blinds why is it they saying , Sandwich ? When it's supposed to bring up Ramsgate, nice Trains you have got filmed mate
Me to missed the train GWR but we were saved by a class 800 to newbrea from Reading?... This will be to see that girl missing the 380 train to Faversham!
Those HS1 trains look very similar to the class 800`s.Whats the difference? why not carry on using these tried and tested trains instead of buying different ones?or am i missing something
These are called the Class 395s, or "Javelins". They were built by Hitachi and are very similar to the Class 800/801/802. However there are many minor differences in the bodyshells and traction motors. The most major and significant difference is that the Class 395s are built with the French TVM430 in-cab signalling system. This is something that is used on France's TGV network because the trains travel at such high speeds that drivers wouldn't be able to tell what aspect the signals are set to. When HS1 in Britain was being constructed, it was taken into consideration to implement this system because of two reasons: 1) the trains were going to travel at high speeds (same reason I just said above); and 2) the Eurostar trains were already using France's TVM system in France, so it made sense to continue this effective system along the rest of the route where possible. When Southeastern announced its plans to have services on HS1, it was inevitable that they would have to use the same signalling systen as the Eurostar trains. And that's when the Class 395 was created. Hope this helped. You can learn a bit more on the subject by searching up "TVM430 Railway System" online or if you want to learb more about HS1 then search "HS1 Britain". However, I would recommend that you search up the Train Simulator manual for the Class 395 and scroll down until you reach the TVM430 guide. You can also chooss to do this with the French Train Simulatot route manuals (Méditeranée, Rhône-Alpes). I find these explanations to be more informative than Wikipedia's.
i have no idea why Eurostar never ever stops at Stratford international Richard Chalklin i bet they only stop at terminates stations and Ebbsfleet international dont they dude
Ah, Stratford... Concrete as far the eye can see.
It's a shame no Eurostar trains even stop at the station. No point calling it International.

Nice one mate :) love the 374s :)
I was there for trainspotting once, the station hall and platform is so empty that makes it a bit creepy
I travelled on the Eurostar last Friday from Paris Gare Du Nord to London St Pancras.
I was on the 1330 departure to Faversham , boarded second coach London end at Stratford
Awesome Video. Thumbs up :)
According to Wikipedia fleet status the set featured at 13:42 was scrapped in 2017? #confused

@@FABplanes Izy TMST is not refurbished and will stay so, but how long ? I have no idea. That sets will still belong to Eurostar.
@@RichardChalklin Is the older model going to continue service in France?
I wonder what Eurostar explanation is for not stopping at a station that Clearly states Stratford international. Interesting to find out.
it was horrendous that storm Erik richard
I don't know why it's called Stratford international. I've never seen a Eurostar stop there in any vlog I've seen from this station. Nice. Video.

Whats the max line speed through here?
140mph both ways
The max speed line is erostar

I still think HS2 services should have been plugged into this and into Ashford International.
Such a wasted opportunity.
no eurostars they should rename it to stratford westfield shopping centre
