I can really sense and appreciate the speed thanks to your splendid filming. Great views in my beloved Kent, where i lived for a full year and i was much honoured to film trains too. Great to see old and new gals on the Eurostar service!
Thanks Panos, there’s also quite a variety of shots and locations here some of which show the speed better than others. The Medway Bridge is honestly so incredible to me, the distance and speed makes it for me! This is not my home region but I can definitely see the appeal! 😃
American here, I am impressed with the UK's HSR network. Beats what we have in the USA for sure! One question, how come the 395s only have one headlight? Wouldn't it be better to have two?
In the UK most trains have 2 Headlights one on each side and a marker light, at daytime the marker light on the drivers side is turned on and the headlight on the non drivers side is on. (The others are off) at night time the headlight on the drivers side is on and the marker light on the non drivers side is on. (Again the other lights are off) this is for the front and at the rear of the train there are 2 taillights (one on each side) wich are on. The reason why this is the case with the 395s and not the Eurostars (373, 374) is because they operate in France and for France there need to be 2 Headlights on each side. Driver’s side: right Non driver’s side: left
These trains are great. I like especially the 373 because it is not the same boring shit as in Germany. Don't misunderstand, it is great that Siemens has recived orders, but I don't really like the Velaro. Trains with Lokomotives or Power Cars look more interesting and powerful and inside it's not that noisy. I want to drive the 373 at least once. Which route is most likely to take the Class 373?
Thanks EJC, I'm a huge fan of HS1 and some of these numbers/shots certainly tested me. You have no idea the efforts I went to to obtain the train numbers of the Medway Bridge shots! 😃
@@StarlifeStudios I bet 🤣😎👀 It used to be hard enough tying to get HST power car numbers at 125mph, so Im sure its very difficult at 186mph 🤔🫣👀 Yes there is something unique and fascinating about high speed rail in the UK 😎🇬🇧 HS2 will add to that fascination and excitement, if its ever fully built? 🤔 The only problem down the decades the railways have always endured are politicians/Governments 🤔 Rarely (if ever) have they made good, long term decisions that benefit the railways in this country 🤡🇬🇧
At both of these locations there are access gates which walkers can use. The land itself is owned by London and Continental Railways (Network Rail). I'm not someone who will trespass, there was always a fence between me and the railway.
Great video can I just ask what do you use to edit your videos a I currently use iMovie to edit my own videos and I want to have something similar subtitles to what you use if you know what I mean
Hello NoZo! The headlamps are designed to be lit at different times of the day for safety - The offside lamp is used during the day, and then the nearside during darkness, since it's angled slightly to the left and down to illuminate trackside signs and to make the train visible to track workers. Newer trains have dipped and high beam lights for the same reason although the left and right arrangements are no longer required as long as lights are in a triangle shape. Hope this helps 🙂
I really would like to but these include a significant time investment which I dont have at the moment. I will keep your comments in mind and I will of course be filming HS2 when it opens 😃
The 373 noise is just the absolute best.
Great video of some classic HS1 action, especially with the 373s! I'll be going to the location near Charing next week and this is a perfect showcase!
Have fun 171! 😃
@@StarlifeStudioshi hiw do you add the train where there going into the video
Very satisfying to see trains outspending car on the motorway
Class 373 is music to my ears 😍
Love the map intro!! Awesome way to start video.. Great location, Charing! HS1

Very nice video as normal keep up the great work 🇬🇧👍
HS1 is amazing for fast trains
Indeed.
Can’t wait to watch this I know for sure it will be great 💫
Zooming in and out is reducing the appearance of how fast these things are actually traveling
I just wish there were more class 373's (the class 373 is my favourite high speed train)
Honestly man your a great guy props to you for really showing the speed man i wish to go there one day and your vids are why thanks man
Good location right next door to the M20 Motorway. Eurostar Class 373 and Class 374 are so fast and Southeastern Class 395 Javelins are amazing.
Its hard to think that a big thing like that has just gone 180 to 190 mph and now its right by your side
Nice video showcasing HS1.
Thanks Spectrum! 😃
That 373 sound 🤩
Love the sounds of the E300s. As much as I love a good velaro the og chunnel trains gotta take it.
I was watching and noticed how many more southeastern high speed services there were compared to Eurostar services
The 373 is one of the OGS 👌
I love the sound of the class 373
This what they want. The map was an innovation I think. It would be useful for all your videos.
It took a fair bit of time to produce but I’m glad you found it helpful David 😃

Nice how did you get down on to the grass at Harrietsham, I know where it is but I’m trying to plan for when I go soon.
Sadly Eurostars are not going to Disneyland Paris and it’s due to the effects of the pandemic and the fallout of the EU
Great video 👀😎👍🏽⭐️

A l'heure actuelle des E300 il en reste plus que 8 !
Great video mate
Thanks 👍
Beautiful trains 💯
The Javelin is very fine & the Eurostar.
The map thing is really nice!
I'm a year late, but this was a fantastic video!

Question: Why do the british do the funny thing with their headlights. What does it improve and why don't you just use your lights like most countries

Great video! Shame you couldn’t get any 92s though
92s usually run in the late evening/night and are rare in daytime. I tried but its pot luck! Thanks Ormond :)
Thank you for the footage!
Cool
Why do some of the 395's only have 1 panto up?
Nice
Thanks 😃
Eurostar in the country side looks weird high speed trains in england look weird
I really like the Eurostar livery and it looks excellent against the countryside. Thanks for watching Ishaan
What sort of speeds are these trains travelling at? Is it 125mph like other high speed trains in the UK?
140mph for the javelins, 170-186mph for the class 373 and 374

What you called the Boxley tunnel is actually the North Downs tunnel
You are completely correct it is the Southern portal of the North Downs Tunnel. For this video, I used the nearest town as the location name.
Close to Buckmore Park 🤔
