03:13 I love the positive gym energy here! I mean it's positive throughout the rest of the video I'm assuming. Lately so many videos of toxic gym culture have been popping up, followed by positive ones like Joey Swoll. And anyway, seeing anything positive in the gym is making me feel pumped, no pun intended. :) Subscribed. :)
You need to tell her to push her knees apart into her arms, brace, and then her knees won't cave like that. That looks dangerous. She's a tiny girl, and picking up 60 kg with poor form might be bad for her. Also, your form, or rather the way you talk about it, confuses me. What do you mean push your hips out? You don't do it, your form is proper, but I've seen recreational men swing their back, way back, in a really dangerous way cos they think you got to push something out when you are up. Deadlift is: you press your legs into the floor, the hips and bar come up together and you stand up. That's it, no pushing anything out. Of course, you brace properly with your bum pushed out to begin with, and you make your back straight and firm as well, to begin with. Your air guitar ritual before you deadlift (posturing briefly with over under grip) and the way you say 'then push your hips out' are actually bad advice. Cos they make a newbie think they saw back extending in the final posture, and then they start overextending their back in that dangerous way, or trying to use momentum to lift. There is no momentum in deadlift. You lift with your legs and core, and you simply stand up. You are a supreme athlete of 20 years old, Nate, so you actually do not overextend, somehow, but your description of deadlift is off as of this video, including not teaching her to push her knees out into her arms. Edit: Also, you get carried away in a very dangerous gym bro way towards the end of the video. I'm naturally, at my thinnest, 25 kg heavier than your gf, and it took me a year to get to 100 kg deadlifts. Granted, I'm much taller than her too, but still. 100 kg deadlifts for a natty girl are a feat. I had shingles, nerve pain and damage in that year that slowed me down and set me back 10 kg or so and a few weeks back, cos life happens. And you are over here talking about 100 kg for a girl who deadlifts with her knees inwards. Getting carried away like that, when you should be teaching her that it's not the weight but the proper form that matters, is BAD of you! She isn't a powerlifter and even if she wanted to be, form is King and weight comes second to that, weight you lift is Queen. I see every day women putting 100 kg on their back and then assuming a sumo stance and just standing there moving theirs holders and calling it squat. Looks ridiculous, it's ineffective, and it can be dangerous. I see people every day doing something daft looking and potentially dangerous cos they want to claim they squat/deadlift a 100 kg when they've never even learned the proper form. Oof all people, a powerlifter gf shouldn't be one of those people. Do better Nate, please do better.

How long have you been lifting for? 325lbs seems kind of lame for a guy your size
Bro in this video I deadlifted 300kg
I'm pretty sure he meant 325kg not lb.
There no way this guy thought 325 pounds 💀
