Either that, or he would have at least partly capitulated to mainstream narratives at some point along the way (though it is hard to imagine him going, e.g., full Colbert post-2016).

The fact that he had some of the dirtiest and funniest stand up of all time, and was the narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine shows just how talented the man was. That wasn't some crap that his agent or whoever roped him in to, he chose to do that because he genuinely loved the stories and how they didn't try to shove the morals down kids' throats, which speaks volumes of the type of person George was. And I didn't even mention his work as Rufus in the Bill and Ted movies. He's one of my favorite people ever, and in these increasingly incomprehensible times we're living in, his voice of reason is sorely missed.

I'm of the generation that drank from outdoor hoses, ate carrots covered in dirt that you just pulled from the ground, took the cookie or cake beaters gladly, raw eggs not considered. Rode bikes without helmets, rode in the bed of a pickup, didn't wear seatbelts, and ran through our neighborhoods, parents unaware, and came home when the streetlights came on. I've always said that all these allergies happen more so because of this panic to avoid anything that may be an allergen. However, there are times when your Immune system turns on you, as mine has. You get an autoimmune disease, and then you take medication that suppresses your immune system. So, then it's not about getting out, exposing yourself, etc... It's about how you have little or no defense against a virus that can kill you.

The first part was about how millions of kids grew up in the 60's and 70's, without a constant anxiety that kids have now, and very few had these food allergies that are so prevalent today. The fact that he had some of the dirtiest and funniest stand up of all time, and was the narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine shows just how talented the man was. That wasn't some crap that his agent or whoever roped him in to, he chose to do that because he genuinely loved the stories and how they didn't try to shove the morals down kids' throats, which speaks volumes of the type of person George was. And I didn't even mention his work as Rufus in the Bill and Ted movies.
He's one of my favorite people ever, and in these increasingly incomprehensible times we're living in, his voice of reason is sorely missed.

Carlin was such a forward thinker. Very funny man and seemed to be a genuinely good dude.
I'm of the generation that drank from outdoor hoses, ate carrots covered in dirt that you just pulled from the ground, took the cookie or cake beaters gladly, raw eggs not considered. Rode bikes without helmets, rode in the bed of a pickup, didn't wear seatbelts, and ran through our neighborhoods, parents unaware, and came home when the streetlights came on. I've always said that all these allergies happen more so because of this panic to avoid anything that may be an allergen.
However, there are times when your Immune system turns on you, as mine has. You get an autoimmune disease, and then you take medication that suppresses your immune system. So, then it's not about getting out, exposing yourself, etc... It's about how you have little or no defense against a virus that can kill you.
Which is why you think a pandemic is equivalent to a few germs you might pick up from the playground before said virus existed. Also...look up the word 'anecdotal' ...I know its hard to use your brain...but please try....
Raw eggs aren't the danger in raw cookie dough, it's raw flour. Also, if you fly out of a bed of a pickup, you're paralyzed or dead, strong immune systems don't change the laws of physics

The first part was about how millions of kids grew up in the 60's and 70's, without a constant anxiety that kids have now, and very few had these food allergies that are so prevalent today. All the other stupid crap we did, doesn't really have a connection to that.
So, no, I don't think a pandemic is equal, at all. Two very different topics and I failed to explain that.
