- Chrysler Crossfire 5.7L 345 V8 Hemi! From 2004-2008 the Chrysler Crossfire was offered in 3.2L V6 making 215hp & 3.2L Supercharged V6 making 330hp - but there was no V8 Hemi option offered in that span. This V8 Hemi swapped Crossfire is a great build. The Crossfire weight is around 3000 lbs - so having a 5.7 345 V8 Hemi under the hood makes it a very quick ride! Make sure to check out some of the other Mopars on the channel!

That’s it putting a hellcat 6.2 in a crossfire and calling it a Hellfire
Best name ever for a car
That name has been done already
@@pkmblcknwht in GTA
Did u do it
Please do it I have a base manual crossfire for the low for you come get it 😂😂😂
You'd be surprised how little work is involved in putting a V8 in the XF. Yeah, a 5.7 Hemi swap would be a pain in the ass because the engine wasn't intended for that platform. What I and many others have done is to install the Mercedes M113 V8. I have the NA 5.4 M113 in my 2004 Crossfire and with the current tune it makes 380hp and 400ft lb tq. The benefit to using the MB engine is it is almost plug and play and the added benefit of the Alusil block makes it much lighter than the iron 5.7 Hemi. The 3.2 M112 V6 and the M113 V8 share the same architecture. The stock V6 ECU is upgraded with the missing coil and injector drivers, and a new V8 map is loaded. I did eventually have to upgrade the original and tired (181k) V6 auto trans to the beefier SRT6 trans. 0-60 in less than 5 seconds, and 1/4 mile is just under 13 sec. Best part about it is there is minimal wiring changes due to the XF using 1 different style connector than the same MB harness. Connector gets cut off and the correct connector with all the same wiring colors is soldered on... 5 wires is all. It's my daily driver, just crossed 200k miles.
Wassup Jared im from ny please help me do the same to my crossfire .....I pay..ty
@@kingdaddyabreu3986 I'm in Washington State. We couldn't get further apart if we tried. Get on the Chrysler Crossfire Forum and look for my thread in the Engine section. It's called World's Cheapest V8 Swap
@@jaredlazaron8414are you still in WA? If you ever want to sell it I'll scoop it up.
HELLYEAH!
The M113 AMG V8 swap is really easy. It’s an aluminum block motor that makes about 400hp. And is as close as you can get to a plug and play direct swap.
How much do you charge to do this ?? Thanks

I definitely think If it has come with a Hemi it would have been around longer! Excellent video!💯
It definitely would have been around longer however the viper would not have been, really think about it
I have an 04 Chrysler crossfire. Has 174000 miles. Still running strong. Just went on a 24 hour drive. No check engine lights no stutters. Hail Mopar. Also thank the Germans for outstanding engineering. Mopar or no car
Now that's a good swap. I've always wanted this car, almost convinced my dad to buy it as my first car in high school but of course got a beater instead 😂. But I loved it. It was a 93 roadmaster. Lost the catylic converter on a railroad track before school one morning and it was super loud. Ear ringing loud.
I really wish the crossfire survived, the modern styling of crysler (particularly the pacifica) is very very nice, imagine what the crossfire could have been -_-
I really think with a supercharged V8 it would’ve done better. Certainly a cool ride
Ummmmm this styling is still better than 99% of what's out there.
@@Gorilla_Jones better than what? A Hyundai?
@@RTLife it wouldve competed too much with the viper, slk and sl
@@RTLife there’s around 25 or so XF’s with a transplanted AMG V8 M113K engine in them. A couple of guys are running 10’s in them at the moment.
Awesome video my man. If a v8 option 5.7 6.4 or the 6.2 supercharged was available these would go off the shelf as fast as buying chocolates. These things would be killers on the road.
Wow those cars had so much potential I seen a black crossfire years ago when I was working on a job these two brothers put a viper motor in it and I just caught them as they were testing it the car was in Connecticut I don't know if it still exists but man what up awesome sound keep up the good work. 👍🏾
That would be amazing to review - Crossfire Viper! Surprised they were able to get it in the engine bay
Can't imagine stuffing that thing in there. That was cool .Thanks for bringing it.
The crossfire is what i like to call the poor mans bentley
I agree it should came in the R/T package, i don't think it got the recognition it deserved. still it is a nice car i had the opportunity to drive one.
An srt6 with a tune and smaller pulley will do about 407 crank horsepower and no problem. This without a cold air intake but with the original restrictive inlets. The problem is traction since it is so light weight.
What if drop an hellcat engine inside for weight ??
@@BoominRedBoi Only if you have a death wish. lol! There are a few of them around, although not the SRT but Limited (6 cyl) with the AMG 8 cylinder swap. They are turned into rockets. Trust me, that 400+ ponies are plenty with the supercharged tuned motor.
Very cool & clean build. Always had a soft spot for the Crossfire & the Prowler. They were just missing that Hemi in my eyes.
When I worked at DCTC in Auburn Hills Michigan, I was fascinated with the Crossfire when I saw the concept. I got one of the first available in our state. I became friends with a project manager of the car. He helped me a lot. He told me to go to one of the test garages where a Hemi was installed into a Crossfire. I went and saw the car. I talked to the mechanic who did the install. Later I was told that the car would have been faster than the SLK and the price would drop 5k. Daimler killed it.
That’s pretty slick. That’s gotta be damn quick. 1000- 1200 lbs lighter than a Charger. Probably a second quicker to 60. Damn.
Yah I think my RT was 4300 lbs when I weighed it a while back
And a good second faster in the quarter since every 100 lbs lost is a 10th of a second faster
Absolutely..LOVE THE CROSSFIRE..😎
But with the hemi… 😳
AWESOME..!!!
So Fuckin dope!!! Such a shame that the crossfire got discontinued, they’d look mean with the modern Chrysler look.
My friend used to have one. That car was underrated.
That’s awesome! Someone wondered if that V8 would fit under the hood. Hell ya it fit! Bonus points for the Mopar engine in a Chrysler car. I would test drive one for sure. On the forums there’s always chatter about a hemi in a smaller chassis than LX. Then the predictable let down that there’s no ‘cuda size car coming in the Dodge press release. Would like to know more about the build….
Sweet ride. Now let’s see a Hellcat engine swap!
From the moment the sc 6.2 came out I have wished for someone to do that!!
Imagine a Crossfire with 707hp in that body
Don't care what the haters would say, that's a cool build!
That’s a sweet ass ride!
That ride is badass!
Agreed! The hemi swap makes it that much cooler
I used to want a crossfire when they first came out but I was paying on a 300 at the time. My goal was to have both cars and the same color (the bluish grey color). I had the 2.7 v6 (2006) model and thought I was the ish lol. I had it leased to me and didn't know any better then on how things worked at dealerships. So of course it was my first car that I didn't purchase from someone's yard.
I raced one of these in my 6.1 SRT on the highway once....it was close.
It’s odd that someone went through all the effort to put in a hemi when there are two variance of Mercedes V8 (both making more power) that bolt right up to the transmission.
It's a dodge thing, you wouldn't understand.
I would've try squeezing in a hellcat engine if I could.
A hemi is more reliable and parts are cheaper.
Pretty cool, too bad I'm a giant and I'd never fit in it lol.
I test drove one once, tiniest car I've ever driven.
This saddens me bro Im a giant as well and been eye balling these lol
@@dirtmanjbtv yeah I managed to drive one just enough to learn that it would be extremely impractical to own, maybe if I was rich and had one as like a track day car, but even still it was such a tight squeeze. Im 6 foot 5 inches tall and about 240 when I checked it out. So if you are near or bigger than I was at that time I wouldn't bother man.
not too tiny ever been in a mr2 or porsche 944? now thats tiny
Try a NA miata, you'll fit fine. Just dont flip or you might loose your head.
At around 3400-3500 lbs that thing would be a monster at the track! 😂
Would love to see more 5.7 liters the crossfire. I it would have been a different outcome on this model. Luxury plus power. Can’t ask for more. Would like to see a crossfire keep up with a scat pack.
Underrated Chrysler.
Agreed
GOOD LORD, ALMIGHTY!!!
😲 Man!! I think a Eforce supercharger could fit on there. Could you imagine!
LIVE THESE , HEMI V8 ALL THE WAY
I LOVED THE 451 HEMI
That's how it should have came out... unique car great lines. could have been a contender if they tried... nice job...
Nice V8 sound ! Crossfire SRT 6 owner here 😉
it's something pretty unique
getting more popular now!
M112k came with 350hp, they listed inaccurate numbers for srt6... In fact the c32 is significantly slower stock even though it lists a higher hp figure and only 300 lbs heavier. This is because the srt6 has a diff with higher gear ratio xfire-3.27 c32-3.07
Just brought a crossfire a couple weeks ago doing research to hemi swap it.
Do a kitty swap
@@teeco5952 no.. not enough tire for it to hook

Oh that would be a FUN car 😁😁😁
Yea I want a Crossfire again😏
Nice little baby
I had an 05 convertible the same color Crystal Red Pearl metallic. It was a great car for the money. I bought it in 08 with 3,000 miles on it for 20 grand. I wish I still had it. 🇺🇸🧔
i liked how rare it was. I'm sure you got some looks - people thinking what the hell is that thing!
That’s a awesome build 💯 bet that thing will move
Oh I just found the channel and I love it and this video..just subscribed.. I've got an n/a crossfire in the UK😍I love these cars..so underrated 😑
Can't wait for more videos..
I've got a question if anyone read it..could you put a turbo on that hemi engine without doing any big mods in the engine..?might sound a stupid question tho..
I wanted put one on my n/a but everyone says it's a very hard job 🥴
I only started learning about cars a year ago and started working in a garage on my days but still my knowledge about tuning nearly zero😂
Thanks everyone and have a great day guys
Mopar Action had an article on it. Has a Charger front stub on it.
I have to check it out
Nice and light.Imagine that with a vvt cam and a trinity tune 😳
Imagine that with a 6.1 or a 6.4
That would be sick. 6.1L with some forced air
There is one built a few years ago with 6.1
That would be interesting.
Nevermind I was thinking about the 6.1 Plymouth Prowler swap
I would do a 6.1 swap since it’s a period correct engine plus, AMG swapped their 5.5 v8 into the new slk
A Yugo with a hemi would be siiick
This is a build im doing i seen it years ago im looking for a donor crossfire now. Im doing a 3 way conversion. Im putting a Hellcat in my 06 Charger im looking for a Wrangler ti stuff my 5.7 in and once I find a crossover donor thats also going to get a 5.7 or 6.4
Hey lambocaster yes I have a 2007 slk 280
I would love to get a crossfire supercharger to put onto my v6 FCA car
They’re really awesome rides
I seriously was watching a ton of videos for the last 2 weeks on these and seeing if anyone did a hemi swap. Then looked up basic version of this car on FB marketplace and seeing them for 2000-3500, perfect size and shape for a track car
Go through Mopar Actions archives. As stated above, they did a..n article on it. A few build pics, too. Could point you in the right direction. Good luck!
Lol I own one and I don’t sell for less than 5k
I own the Benz version of this car, it’s a great little roadster, a lot of fun to drive. 😎😎😎😎
What's the Benz version ? SLK?
Awesome built
Hell yes tell them to build them with 5.7 hemi
Just seeing this. Hyundai dropped the ball too. That one V8 Genesis Coupe would’ve made CRAZY sales
this is the same crossfire from that video 10 years ago?
Thats crazy man
yah this is a build from a while ago
Hellcat swap!! HELLFIRE! What do you think? Sounds like a one off to me??? Would love to see that into fruition!
Super cool, like a toned down mini Viper.
Very unique and Nice build 👍🏾👌🏾💯
With an AWD format and even hellcat like many are stating it would have competed well against the gtr, Porsches and other awds. No dragstrip needed. The 300c with a 2 door wouldn't have been bad either I've seen those images of people wanting the 2 door like the charger.
Dope build forsure
Agreed. I wouldn't mind having this in my driveway
I wonder if they used the stock 5AT with that 5.7L V8 Hemi engine swap. Also, I wonder if the 6MT would’ve held up with this swap. I know 6MT’s didn’t come in the 3.2S V6 SRT-6 models, sadly…
R/T Life will you be making a vid on the upcoming Dodge electric muscle car coming out? Would love to hear your thoughts.
There’s around 25 or so XF’s with a transplanted AMG supercharged V8 M113K engine in them. A couple of guys are running 10’s in them at the moment.
it's a light ride so putting the AMG V8 is a great move
That type of Mopar looks like one for the Nissan Gtr
not sure
soon as i learned theres a srt crossfire i wondered about a v8 and this is what i expected
Chrysler wanted to put the hemi v8 in the car from the start. The engine bay is big enough for a v8 obviously. However mercedes didn’t want to spend the r & d to make the hemi fit and told them to stick their 3.2 instead. If the car had a v8 from the start it would probably have saw a second generation. Also the srt6 was technically the first supercharged srt not the hellcat.
I’ve always thought Chrysler should’ve been a competitor to Mercedes. With the hemis could be comparable to an amg with some tuning. Some upgrades in quality, build and comfort. That’ll be a cool little unofficial rivalry imo.
Everything is better with a Hemi. I would love to see a Crossfire with a Hellcat motor.
You could do more with the supercharged 6
Very cool for sure
Yah this would be a lot of fun to own
I'm doing the same build and using a hellcat blower
Weights less and good aero not a bad swap imagine it with a some mods
If you're going to go through that much trouble you might as well have put a 392 because that's the weight a challenger should weigh
I wouldn't mind owning one. Of course it's a death trap on four wheel's.
No, it's not.
Daaaaaaamn!!! Wicked!
I have one still... 3.2 with 19.000 miles!
Super rare ride - def hang onto it. Very cool Mopar
I don't want to let it go but I may have to...
@@RTLife i had to let her go. It broke my heart. Moving on.....
As usual, I have an idea, and before I can get to my money, somebody's already done it! I was going to use a '71 LA 340, though. Any contact info on the Mad Professor that came up with this swap? Edited to say; Probably forced himself catatonic after this. The car is SSSICK!
Crossfire had so much potential but it was wasted didn't even have a manual
Mine has a six speed manual
My 2006 base model has a six speed...
u gotta go hellcat, please 🙏🏾
Wow
really cool right?! Something a little different
Bet that hemi faster than the 5.0 😜🔥
that would be a cool race
I like to see that👀
If they put a 5.7 in today. That hp would be almost 400. And as we know the 1 thing dodge skips out on is tires. So think if you had a car that small with 245 on the back only 3k in weight with almost 400 hp. It would not be good. But even a 5.7 would be cool in a small car. Not saying we need it but it would be cool.
What do you mean today rke? How much hp and torque are you saying the 5.7 of today makes?
Exactly, pumped fenders would be needed for larger tires but, the avg consumer wouldn’t wanna deal with the staggered setup.
Given its Mercedes origin i think that if it were to come with a V8 it would have probably been an AMG version of the M113 or M156.
Rarely see crossfires forget a hemi crossfire
I'm running a Mercedes AMG 5.4 v8 in my 6speed manual roadster crossfire it's a blast at around 400hp and trq, haven't got it to the track yet but should run mid 12s, have a few videos on my page
How was the fitment? Any customization to get the 5.4L in there? These crossfires are such cool rides
@@RTLife honestly it drops in using the v6 motor mount arms, in running the same stock 6speed manual, the stock exhaust manifolds can be cut and blended with the v8 ones(rear2 v6 ports then front two v8 ports) so that the rest of the exhaust bolts right in, there isn't alot of room between the v8 and the radiator, I'm running two 12" spal cooling fans one wired to the stock fan relay the other to an aftermarket relay. There's a guy names josh chase in California who's company is called the Mercedes swap shop, he does the ecu conversion you send him your v6 ecu and he does what he has to to get the v8 calibration imported so the car thinks it came with the v8 from the factory, there are a handful out there running around even a few with the supercharged 5.4 amg motor from 03-06 e55, sl55, etc which I'd like to eventually swap the blower from one onto mine just not sure how the stock manual trans will like it lol but it's alot of fun and get some very interesting looks in it, still doing small tweaks here and there with it but going to have it at the Mopar Nationals second weekend of August outside Columbus I'm hoping to run mid to high 12s in it
Since the Crossfire was manufactured in Germany they probably didn't have access to all the same parts as the Brampton plant in Canada would have. Was probably a cost saving measure to make them with just Mercedes parts because it was a German manufacturer building them. There is the Hellcat Miata, maybe someone should build a Hellfire? Might be shit ton easier to put a supercharged hemi in a Crossfire than to put one in a Miata...
It looks like it would be a bitch to work under the hood but I like it. I'm not even really a Crossfire fan but I'd be interested if the price was right.
It’s def a cool ride - most would looked puzzled at what it is.
Most cars are a bitch to work on nowadays.
Sick
yah def a cool build
The only question i have is, if you're going to go through all the trouble why not swap the 6.1 or 6.4 hemi? They occupy the same space in the engine bay
guessing $$$. You can get a used 5.7 pretty cheap
Puckin awesome
Hi,can you share what you did ,all parts ,transmission ect.. thank you in advance
you should do the chrysler 200 v6
So who wants to be the pioneer to throw a hellcat into one of these
It just needs that Twin Turbo set up from Hellion on it and it's Xtra Bad A#$ , lol💯👍
