    I’ve had two, and just bought my third. You don’t buy these for performance, you buy them for their looks. The attention you get - like having a supercar, without having a suoercar. It just looks awesome. You either love it or you hate it. Haters always gonna hate. I, personally, love it.

      My tuned srt6 is as fast as prety much any 2005 supercar so they can be bought for performance. Hows 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds? 0-100 mph in under 9 seconds? Thats what ive got out of mine. And its only £1500 of mods (intake, pulley and tune)

    • @UserUser-vo2ky

      @Andrue Rendon you're a fool. Why do you say that? Dont you think that a 440 bhp / 452 lbs ft 1400kg car isnt capable of that? There are plenty of rear wheel drive cars that can do that. You havent a clue.
      Im sure theres vids on here that show it if you type in srt6 0-60.

      @Andrue Rendon so you have nothing to say about your stupid comment? Maybe you've found out that these cars are very much capable of those performance figures. You sound like an idiot to anybody reading your comment. Do some research before you try and tell somebody that they are lying.

    "Blame Chrysler", yet all the switchgear you complained about are Mercedes parts.

    • @mephistovonfaust
      @mephistovonfaust 4 года назад +5

      Yes, I had them in my S204 a couple of years back and I've missed them ever since. My C7 had a similar style of switches for cruise control but the Mercedes one still is the MVP, though you have to get used to it at first. I'd still get my Audi A6 (C7) back if I could, though my Golf VII GTI Performance is much more fun to drive. The C7 all in all was the most comfortable car I've ever owned.

    • @kylebudd3664
      @kylebudd3664 4 года назад +4

      Um, no, thee main complaint was the cruise control stalk, which was only used once by Mercedes for a short run before it was changed in a facelift, and it was put in a different location
      The “infotainment” and dash board are not Mercedes parts, that’s all Chrysler

    • @mephistovonfaust
      @mephistovonfaust 4 года назад +5

      @@kylebudd3664 that's not true... The stalks were in used by Mercedes forever. They still use them now, just in a modernized version of them. Ie the whole W204 including every variation used them.

      @kylebudd3664 4 года назад

      DezzyTee I haven’t owned a single Mercedes outside of a 2003/4MY with that style of stalk, and as I said in that location.
      I never said Mercedes stopped using them.
      But to correct your point Mercedes haven’t used them “forever” my 1991 190e doesn’t have one, and my wife’s 2020 e350 doesn’t have one

    • @mephistovonfaust
      @mephistovonfaust 4 года назад +4

      @@kylebudd3664 you are kidding me, right? You know exactly what I meant with "in forever". I've never sat in a Merc with cruise control and different stalks or in a different location. I am from Stuttgart so you can imagine how many Mercs we have around here and as the biggest employer of the state, how many people I know working there with all varieties of Mercs. If your wifes E350 doesn't have the stalks, I would check if it's a real one. Idk, maybe you have different kinds wherever you live but the original German cars all have the exact same wiper configuration.

That's it, no major repairs. Can confirm, bad cupholder. Sure it's got it's quirks but it runs great and has been super reliable for me. It's like the z32 where it's always overshadowed by other cars so no one pays any attention to it. The cup holder for both cars suck(no z32 cup) so I have to do a aftermarket one. I had the crank shaft sensor fail which caused embarrassment at the stop light but taught me how to deal with car issues as a young adult. The crossfire forums had awesome support and i found a new sensor for 30$ on ebay and quickly fixed it with youtube videos and forum guidance. I also had to replace the alternator 3 times. I honestly to this day don't know why this car had so many alternator/battery problems but ill never forget walking to advanced auto in mid February to grab a new alternator and loosing feeling in my fingertips putting a new one in. watching this video makes me want to track down the person i sold mine to and buy it back. Depends what needs doing. General mechanical components are Mercedes so they're easy to find but not overly cheap. Insurance isn't too expensive, tax isnt too bad depending on which model year you buy (avoid 2005 for this reason) and fuel economy isn't ideal but not Mazda RX8 levels of awful.
      Buy one now while they're cheap, get a cheap one but pay to get it restored, get a pricy one but make sure it's well maintained.

They replaced it with a repurposed one which only cost me 150 dollars, not bad. A brand new one was almost 400. I've had the radiator hose system replaced and the serpentine belt only cause it was 12 yrs old and needed maintenance ,the price on that wasn't bad either. Personally my experience has been well worth the joy I get from my little car..

    The car was not built by Chrysler! Its a Mercedes SLK320 built at the exclusive Ghia plant. The only Chrysler thing is the re styled body. They handle excellent and the SRT6 flys! And it has 330 hp AMG hand built engine, again all Mercedes.

      Built by Karmann in Osnabruck. Independent at the time, but now owned by VW. Karmann did work with Ghia, which is based in Turin, most notably on the VW Karmann Ghia sports car based on the Beetle.

    I daily the crossfire on my channel, mod it, go to meets, all the car jazz and have definitely driven it properly. Comparing it to driving a 911 Carrera S, I’d have to disagree with a lot of points on the driving experience. Steering is definitely stiff and accurate and handles corners extremely well, not far from the 911. Also have taken 8 hour road trips and love how comfortable it is.
    Overall, I believe the car is very underrated but I hope to shine some light onto it with my channel. p.s. in regards to power, have no problem beating Gen Coupes & keeping up with 350s but other than that love your vids man and am honored that you took a look at our cars 🙌

    I LOVE my ‘08 Crossfire Roadster Limited!!! Picked it up with 30k miles, garage kept, no rust, all original, for a good price. It’s the popular Aero Blue and looks amazing! Also, the Crossfire community is amazing!

      I disagree, HOWEVER, everyone knows that ALL brand car developers take design styles from OTHER car makers.... #ALL! it's normal and it won't look exactly like another model due to branding and production rights!

    Although I agree with everything else you say, ive got to defend the whole cruise/indicator situation, I recently went from a basic '03 1.6 Toyota Corolla to a '11 BMW 325d 3.0.
    It took me a good 3 weeks to get used to it, using the cruise and flashing the cars in front of me instead of gradually reducing speed

    The SRT 6 is a complete monster, and that’s looking at the marketed specs. The real HP is 349 out of the factory with a true 0-60 of 4.6 to 4.8 The only issues with these cars are the cup holders (absolutely horrible, I just removed the cup holder all together from my N/A) and the lack of aftermarket support.

    I had an 07 manual roadster. Went far and wide to find a manual, which made a huge difference. Had no rust, electrical or mechanical problems. Really enjoyed that car. Sadly it’s in the big scrap heap in the sky after getting too enthusiastic one day. Now have a Chimaera instead.

      I have one. The quality is perfectly normal for 2005. People can compare them to cars 15 years newer and thats stupid. I have had my 440 bhp srt6 for 6 years and its never broken in any way. Plus its quicker quarter mile than a 592 hp Lamborghini gallardo.

    I remember the first time I saw a Chrysler Crossfire.
    It was 2007, I was 14, and suddenly this car pulls up in front of me.
    A Black woman wearing stylish oversized shades, spandex and high heels stepped out of the car to throw something into the garbage.
    I just saw this exotic looking egg-shaped car parked in front of me. It had gorgeous white rims and beautiful white paint.
    The woman got back in and pulled off, it all happened in less than 20 seconds.
    I was forever changed.

      I've owned mine for 14 years and the tires wearing out is the only major complaint. Had to replace the water pump this spring- it's 18 years old - original. 30 mpg if you can keep your foot out of it.,😜.I've dealt with a lot of worst cars. A few better but non of them were more fun - except my 1971 triumph GT6+.

    If I recall, the limit is 380 pounds between passengers and cargo. I also was able to get the Crossfire luggage, a dufflebag and a suitcase with Crossfire logos and styling designs from the car. They added a small bit of sophistication. I really enjoyed mine, and because I rarely saw myself coming or going, others often showed an interest in my car. I didn't need to race anyone. I had mine to arrive.

  • @DarkestHeartEvE

    Just to say; I've owned one of these for three years. Drop in a sports suspension (koni ssk) and the e55 V8 engine mods and you have a highly capable and very enjoyable car to drive. It has a very stiff chassis as is but these mods compliment it's GT capabilities to make it competent on smaller roads. Solves all of the reviewers complaints bar brakes, which are solved by buying good pads and discs.
    And mine is for sale for 3k. Bargin car
